Read all instructions carefully, even if you feel
that you are familiar with the appliance

Congratulations on the purchase of our new Mistral
Hot Diggit Dog Hot Dog Maker.
Before first using our new Hot Dog Maker, it is most
important that ou read and follow the instructions
in this use and care booklet, even if ou feel ou are
familiar with this t pe of appliance.
Your attention is drawn particularl to the section
dealing with IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS. Find a safe
and convenient place to keep this booklet hand for
future reference.
This appliance has been designed to operate from a
standard domestic power outlet. It is not intended
for industrial or commercial use.
Before first use
Carefull unpack the Hot Dog Maker and remove all
packaging materials.
Wash the lid and steaming container in warm soap
water, rinse and dr thoroughl .
Wipe the motor housing and heating rod with a
damp cloth or sponge.
Note: Do not immerse the motor housing in
water or any other liquid
Place the Hot Dog Maker on a dr , level surface.
Pour cold water into the water bowl (Fig. 1) to the
MAX water level mark.

Place the steaming container on to the unit over the
water bowl.
Note: To prevent the Hot Dog Maker from
overheating, water must be added to the
water bowl BEFORE attempting to cook
frankfurters or warm a hot dog bun
Place the frankfurters into the steaming container and
pierce the end of a hot dog bun onto the heating rod.
Plug the Hot Dog Maker into a standard domestic
power outlet and turn the power outlet on.
Switch the indicator switch on and the indicator
light will glow. The frankfurters are now cooking and
the hot dog bun is being warmed.
Note: Do not cook more than 6 standard
frankfurters at one time
Cook the frankfurters for approximatel 6 to 8
minutes. The amount of cooking time required
will depend upon whether the frankfurters are cold
or frozen; the number being cooked and the size
of each. More frankfurters cooked at one time will
increase the cooking time, and larger frankfurters
will also increase the cooking time.
Remove the hot dog bun with care once it is
warmed. Repeat for additional hot dog buns
Switch off the indicator switch.

Note: After cooking the heating rod will be
hot Use caution when removing the bun Do
not operate the Hot Dog Maker near or below
curtains or other flammable material to avoid a
fire hazard
Carefull remove the lid of the steaming container.
Onl ever open the lid with the handle.
Using a utensil (such as a pair of tongs), remove the
frankfurters and serve immediatel . See the “Recipe
Ideas” section for serving suggestions.
Note: After the cooking cycle is complete, the
Hot Dog Maker and the frankfurters will be
hot Use caution when handling them
Be sure to switch the appliance “OFF” after use

Homemade BBQ sauce
1 cup finel chopped onion
4 tbsp brown sugar
4 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp so sauce
1 cup tomato sauce
1 cup water
Black pepper
Place all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for
15 minutes. This sauce will last for months in the
refrigerator and ma be served hot or cold.
Homemade Tomato Sauce
6 tbsp olive oil
2 onions, sliced
1 tbsp crushed garlic
1 kg ripe tomatoes, un-peeled, seeds removed
1 teaspoon dried basil or 1⁄4cup fresh basil, minced
1 tbsp fresh parsle , minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
Black pepper
Cream (optional)
White stock (optional)
Horseradish cream or radish (optional)
Heat oil in a large heav -based skillet. Add onion
and garlic and cook over a low heat until soft. Add
next six ingredients and simmer for 45 minutes.
Transfer to a food processor and puree. Return to
saucepan and simmer for another 30 minutes. The
sauce should be thick and smooth. If a thinner sauce is
desired, add a little cream or chicken stock. The sauce
ma also be seasoned with horseradish or relish.

hilli plum sauce
2 tbsp oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 stalk of celer
2 tbsp so sauce
1 tbsp chilli sauce
1 tbsp dr sherr
1⁄2teaspoon ground ginger
1 cup plum jam
Heat oil in large pan, add onion and celer and cook
over a medium heat until soft but not browned.
Remove from heat, stir in sauces, sherr and ginger,
then add plum jam and mix well. Return to a ver
low heat, stir until bubbling, being careful not to
burn the jam.
hutney sauce
2 cups ma onnaise
1⁄3cup hot mango chutne
Dash of Tabasco sauce
1 dessertspoon of fresh ginger, finel grated
1⁄2teaspoon garam masala
Combine all ingredients and serve cold.
hilli BBQ sauce
4 tbsp chilli sauce
1⁄2cup onion, minced
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp cider vinegar
2 teaspoons dr mustard
6 dashes Tabasco sauce
4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1 cup water
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to
the boil, stirring. Simmer for 10 minutes. Can be
made up to a week ahead and refrigerated.
Honey-vinegar sauce
2 tbsp oil
1 onion, minced
1-2 cloves garlic
1⁄2cup tomato sauce
1⁄2cup cider vinegar
1⁄3cup hone
1⁄4cup Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons dr mustard
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon salt
Juice of 1 lemon
Heat oil in a saucepan over a low heat; add onion
and garlic and sauté until soft. Add remaining
ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes. Can be
made up to 2 weeks ahead and refrigerated.
