Operation
When using your Sandwich Maker for the first
time, ‘condition’ the Non-Stick Surface of
each of the cooking areas with a thin coating
of cooking oil or shortening applied with a
paper towel or similar.
Turn the power on the preheat, when the
Sandwich Maker reaches the required
temperature the Indicator Light will go out.
Note: When cooking the Light may switch on
and off as the heat elements maintain the
correct temperature. This does not indicate
that cooking is complete.
When using bread, always butter the outside
of the slice, for both pieces. ie; filling is placed
between the unbuttered sides of the bread.
Open the Lid fully and place the sandwiches
onto the bottom plate.
When ready to cook, gently close the Lid until
you are able to attach the two Handles together
with the Security Clip. Do not force the Lid to
close.
Care must be taken whilst doing this as
steam may rise from between the two
cooking plates.
The length of cooking time depends on the
case, filling and personal taste. Your Sandwich
Maker cooks both sides at the same time.
You can check on the progress of your
cooking by simply unlocking the Locking Clip
and opening the Sandwich Maker. If your food
still requires further cooking time, close the
Sandwich Maker and re-lock the Locking Clip.
Some fillings such as cheese may melt and
cause sticking. To free sticking ingredients
use a plastic spatula. Never use a sharp
metal objects such as a knife as this will
damage the Non-Stick Surface.
Close the Lid to preserve the heat until you
are ready to cook your next item.
Changing Plates
Your Mistral Sandwich Maker comes with 3 sets
of plates; a grill plate, waffle plate and diagonal
cut plate.
To Remove the Plate
Slide the button on the bottom side of the
Sandwich Maker and the Lower Plate will
release. Slide the button on the top half up and
the top Plate will release.
To Insert the Plate
Insert the Plate by firstly lining up the connection
bar with the release buttons, place the Plate in
the slots first then press down lightly on the
opposite side of that Plate until you hear a click
and the Plate is firmly locked in place.
For Better Results
Always preheat your 2 Up Detachable Sandwich
Maker before use. When unit has reached the
required temperature the Indicator Light will go
out indicating the unit is ready for use.
BreadCases
Toasted sandwiches are a family favourite for
snacks or a quick meal on the run.
Always butter the outside of the bread slices.
Butter or margarine may be used.
For soft or liquid fillings, regular sliced bread
is recommended, square rather than
rectangular.
Instead of using plain butter on the bread, try
herb butter, garlic butter, and honey or
cheese spread to complement your choice of
filling.
Toasted sandwiches generally take 5 minutes
to cook.
PastryCases
The use of pastry in your Sandwich Maker
makes a tasty alternative to bread and gives
quick and easy desserts.
Using ready made short crust or puff pastry
sheets, simply place one half of the pastry
sheet on the preheated Cooking Plate of your
Sandwich Maker. Form a hollow and spoon in
your favourite sweet or savoury filling. Place
with the remaining half sheet of pastry and
close the Lid.
Cook for approximately 6 minutes or until
golden brown.
