PRECAUTIONSPRECAUTIONS
Do not use the heater in an explosive atmosphere.
Keep the heater away from areas where gasoline or other
flammable liquids or vapors are stored.
Prior to use, check for damaged parts such as hoses,
regulators, pilot or burner.
Never replace or substitute the regulator with any regulator
other than the factory suggested replacement.
The LP gas cylinder should be turned off when the
heater is not in use.
¥At least once a year, the unit should be inspected for the
presence of spiders, spider webs or other insects. Check the
heater immediately if any of the following exist:
1. The smell of gas in conjunction with extreme yellow
colored tips of the burner flames.
2. The heater does not reach temperature.
3. The burner makes popping noise during use (a slight
popping noise is normal when the burner is extinguished
after using).
The propane hose with regulator assembly shall be located
out of pathways where people may trip over it or in areas
where the hose will not be subject to accidental damage.
Children and adults should be aware of the hazards of high
surface temperature and shall stay away to avoid clothing
burn or ignition.
Young children should be carefully supervised when they
are in the area of the heater.
Clothing or other flammable material should not be hung
from the heater, or placed on or near the heater.
Installation and repair should be done by a qualified
service person. The heater should be inspected before
use and cleaning may be required at least once a year, or as
necessary. It is imperative that control compartment, burner
and circulating air passageways of the heater be kept
clean.
Keep the appliance area clear of combustible materials
such as gasoline and other flammable vapors and liquids.
Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air.
Keep the ventilation opening of the cylinder enclosure free
and clear of debris.
NOTE: PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING SAFETY RULES

Always assure there is ample fresh air ventilation.

All leak tests should be done with a soapy solution. NEVER
USE AN OPEN FLAME TO CHECK FOR LEAKS.
The installation offixed appliances shallonly be carriedout
by competent personsand be inaccordance with therelevant
Codes of Practice.
Warning: This appliance requires a gashose and regulator,
check with yourgas supplier andor product supplier.
Regularly check thegas hose and if necessary,
replace the gashose.
Do not clean the heater with cleaners that are combustible
or corrosive.
Do not paint radiant screen, control panel or top canopy
reflector.

WARNING:
The hose assemblyshould be properlylocated out of
pathways where peoplemay trip overit.
The hose mustbe protected fromcontract with hotor
sharp surfaces bothduring use andwhile in storage.
If excessive abrasionor wear isevident, or thehose is cut,
it must bereplaced prior tooperating the heater.
The replacement hoseassembly may beobtained
from the manufacturer.
The hose assemblyshould be visually inspected prior
to each useof the heater.
The hose assemblyshould be visually inspected during
use.
At least oncea year, the entire hoseassembly should
be inspected.
DO NOT use any pressureregulator or hoseassembly
other than thosesupplied with theappliance.
Replacement pressure regulatorand hose assembly
must be thosespecified.
Replacement parts maybe obtained fromthe
manufacturer or yourlocal sales representative.
The valve outletmust be maintainedin good condition.
When the cylinderis not inuse, be sureto cover itwith
dust cap.
A leaktest should beperformed with soapywater
whenever connecting a newcylinder.
Never use a matchto test forleaks.
If disassembly isrequired, a leaktest should be
performed with soapywater upon re-assembly.
This heater isdesigned to operatewith a standard1 LBs
propane cylinder withApproved CylinderConnection.
The gas manifold supply pressure mustbe regulated
at 11 inches watercolumn utilising anapproved regulator.
The minimum inletgas supply pressurefor the
purpose of inputadjustment is 8inches water column.
The maximum inletgas supply pressureis 13
inches water column.
All gas connectionshould be checkedfor leaks utilising
a soap solution.
Never use a flamefor this purpose.
LP-gas supply cylinderis not providedwith the
appliance,statements that
(1)the cylinder must be provided with a shut off valve
terminating in an LP-gas supply cylinder valve outlet
specified,as applicable,for connection No.510 in the
standard for compressed gas cylinder valve outlet and
inlet connections,ANSI/CGA-V-I,or connection No.600
in the compressed gas association's limited standard
cylinder valve outlet connection for propane-small
valve series.
(2)the cylinder supply system must be arranged for
vapor withdrawal;
(3)the cylinder used must include a collar to protect
the cylinder valve.
if a connection No.600 is used a statement that only
cylinders marked "propane" must be used.

1) Make leaksolution by mixing1part liquid
dish soap and3 parts water.
2) Spoon severaldrops (or usesquirt bottle)
of the solutiononto the gashose/regulator
and regulator/cylinder connection.
3) Inspect the connections and lookfor bubbles.
4) If nobubbles appear,the connection issafe.
5) If bubbleappear, thereis leak, loosenand
re-tighten this connection.

1). Turnoff the heater
2). Turnoff the valve of thecylinder.
3). Loosen thescrew of cylinderand regulator.
4). Disconnect thecylinder from regulator.

When Storing orTransporting

OPERATIONOPERATION
If you experienceany ignition problem,turn off theheater and gas
supply, and consult "Troubleshooting" on page14.
Lighting Instruction
1. Turncontrol knob clockwiseto "OFF" position.
2. Open baseassembly door.
3. Turngas supply "ON"by connecting propanecylinder to regulatorinlet.
Check for leaksby applying soapsolution to cylinderand
regulator connection.
4. Push ingas control knobslightly and turncounterclockwise to "IGN/ON".
This will light the burner. If needed,keep depressing andturn control knob
counterclockwise until theburner lights.
5. keep thecontrol knob depressedor at least30 seconds afterlighting
burner.After 30 secondsrelease the controlknob.
6. If burnerdoes no staylit, repeat steps4 & 5.
7. When burneris lit, turngas control knobcounterclockwise to
desired higher setting.
8. Close baseassembly door.
This product is equipped with ODS (Oxygen Deprivation System)
Before Turning Gas Supply ON
Yourheater was designedand approved forOUTDOOR USE ONLY. Do NOT
use it insidea building ,orany other enclosedarea.
Make sure surroundingareas are freeof combustible materials,gasoline
and other flammablevapors or liquids.
Ensure that thereis no obstructionto air ventilation.
Be sure allgas connections aretight and thereare no leaks.
Be sure theaccess panel isclear of debris.
Be sure anycomponent removed duringassembly or servicingis replaced
and fastened priorto starting.
Before Lighting
Heater should bethoroughly inspected beforeeach use, andby a qualified
service person atleast annually.
If relighting ahot heater,always wait atleast 5 minutes.
Our heater istested for qualityassurance.
Ignition attempts shouldsucceed 8 outof 10 attempts.
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
If at anytime you areunable to lightburner
and smell gas,wait 5 minutesto allow gas
to dissipate beforeattempting to light
heater. If,after 1 minute,you are unableto
light burner,wait 5 minutesand allow
flammable vapors todissipate before
attempting to lightheater again.
WARNING
FOR YOUR SAFETY:
DO NOTtouch or moveheater for
at least 45minutes after use.
Allow emitter anddome to coolbefore
touching.
WARNING
Note: The flame patternat the emittergrid should bevisually checked
whenever heater isoperated. Normally theburner flame isblue, but little
yellow flame isacceptable.
If flames extendbeyond surface ofthe emitter grid, or thephenomena of
flame lift orlight back, orblack spot isaccumulating on theemitter grid or
reflector, theheater should beturned off immediately. The heater should not
be operated againuntil the unitis serviced andor repaired.
WARNING: DONOT attempt tooperate heater untilyou have readand
understand all precautions.Failure to doso can resultin serious

OPERATIONOPERATION
CAUTION :
Avoid inhaling fumes emitted from the heater's
first use. Smoke and odor from the burning of oils used in
manufacturing will appear. Both smoke and odor will
dissipate after approximately 30 minutes. The heater
should NOT produce thick black smoke.

NOTE:
When heater is ON:

The burner maybe noisy wheninitially turned on.To eliminate excessive
noise from theburner, turnthe Control Knobto the LOW position. Then,
turn the knobto the levelof heat desired.
Emitter screen willbecome bright reddue to intenseheat. The color is more
visible at night.Burner will displaytongues of blueflame. These flames
should not beyellow or producethick black smoke,indicating an obstruction
of airflow throughthe burners.
RELIGHT
1)Turn thecontrol knob to OFF position.
2)Wait five(5) minutes beforeattempting to relightpilot.
3) Repeat stepsbeginning with step2 above.
SHUT DOWN INSTRUCTIONS
1) Push inand turn controlknob clockwise to"OFF" position.
2) TurnL.P. tank gas valve clockwise to "OFF" position when
heater is notin use
WARNING :Heater will be hot after use.

This heater is primarily used for the
heating of outdoor patios, decks, spas, pool
and open working areas.
Always make sure that adequate fresh air
ventilation is provided. Follow the spacing
tolerances shown in Figure 1.
The minimum clearances, shown in Figure 1,
must be maintained at all times.
The installation must conform to local codes,
or in the absence of local codes, with the
standard for the storage and handling of
liquid petroleum gases, ANSI/NFPA 58-1986,
or most recent addition. For Canada, with the
current CAN1-B149.
This heater must be placed on level, firm
ground.
Never operate in an explosive atmosphere.
Keep away from areas where gasoline or
other flammable liquids or vapors are stored
or used.
BE CAREFUL: WHEN CERTAIN
MATERIALS OR ITEMS ARE LEFT,
ABOVE, BESIDE OR UNDER THIS
HEATER WHILE IN USE, THEY WILL

MAINTENANCE :
Toenjoy years ofoutstanding performance fromyour heater makesure
you perform thefollowing maintenance activitieson a regularbasis:
Keep exterior surfacesclean.
Use warm soapywater for cleaning.Never use flammableof
corrosive cleaning agents.
While washing yourunit, be sureto keep thearea around theburner
and pilot assemblydry at alltimes. If thegas control isexposed to
water in anyway, do NOT try to useit. It mustbe replaced.
Air flow mustbe unobstructed. Keepcontrols, burner,and circulating
air passageways clean.Signs of possibleblockage include:
Gas odor withextreme yellow tippingof flame.
Heater does NOTreach the desiredtemperature.
Heater makes poppingnoises.
Heater glow isexcessively uneven.
Spiders and insectscan nest inburner or orifices.This dangerous
condition can damageheater and renderit unsafe foruse. Clean
burner holes byusing a heavy-dutypipe cleaner.Compressed air may
help clear awaysmaller particles.
Carbon deposits maycreate a firehazard. Clean domeand engine with
warm soapy waterif any carbondeposits develop.
WARNING
DO NOT touchor move heaterfor at least
45 minutes afteruse.
Allow all burnerelements to coolbefore
touching.
FOR YOUR SAFETY :
NOTE
In a salt-airenvironment (such asnear an
ocean). corrosion occursmore quickly
than normal. Frequentlycheck for
corroded areas andrepair them promptly.
STORAGE :
Between uses:
During periods ofextended inactivity orwhen transporting;

Turn LPcylinder to "OFF"position.
Store heater uprightin an areasheltered from directcontact with
inclement weather (suchas rain, sleet,hail, snow,dust and debris).
If desired, coverheater to protectexterior surfaces andto help prevent
debris in airpassages.
Turn thecontrol knob to"OFF" position.
Disconnect LP Cylinder and moveto a secure,well-ventilated location
outdoors. Do NOT store in alocation that willexceed 125 degreesF.
The propane cylindermust be storedoutdoors in well-ventilatedarea,
and it mustbe out ofreach of children,and not ina building,
garage or anyother enclosed area.
Store heater uprightin an areasheltered from directcontact with
inclement weather (suchas rain, sleet,hail, snow,dust and debris).
If desired, coverheater to protectexterior surfaces andto help prevent
debris in airpassages.
