The use of portable automotive lifting devices is subject to certain
hazards that cannot be prevented by mechanical means, but
only by the exercise of intelligence, care, and common sense. It
is therefore essential to have owners and personnel involved in
the use and operation of equipment who are careful, competent,
trained, and qualied in the safe operation of the equipment and
its proper use. Examples of hazards are dropping, tipping, or
slipping of motor vehicles or their components caused primarily by
improperly securing loads, overloading, off-centered loads, use on
other than hard level surfaces, and using equipment for a purpose
for which it was not designed.
It is the responsibility of the owner to make sure all personnel read
this manual prior to using this device. It is also the responsibility of
the device owner to keep this manual intact and in a convenient
location for all to see and read. If the manual is lost or not legible,
contactNorcoIndustries, Inc. for afreereplacement. If the operator
is not uent in English, the product and safety instructions shall be
read to and discussed with the operator in the operator’s native
language by the purchaser/ owner or his designee, making sure
that the operator comprehends its contents.

IMPORTANT: READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE OPERATING
WARNING
This jack is intended to lift, lower or support vehicle• components under the vehicle. Do not use to support or
stabilize a vehicle.
Do not exceed rated capacity.•
Center load on saddle. Do not use saddle’s locating lugs to• support the load.
Do not shock load.•
Make sure the detent pin is fully engaged before load is applied• to jack.
Inspect the jack before each use. Do not use the jack if it•
is damaged, excessively worn, altered, modied or in poor
condition. Take corrective action before using the jack.
Adequately support the vehicle before starting repairs.•
Before supporting the vehicle component with this jack refer• to the vehicle’s service manual or inquire from the vehicle
manufacturer the recommended under hoist jack support
surface(s) on the vehicle component.
Be sure vehicle, vehicle component and under hoist jack setup• are stable.
Use only on a hard level surface.•
SETUP
The bottom of the lifting tube includes a hex head bolt which1.
must be backed off so the minor diameter of the jack ram can slide
into the bottom of the lifting tube. Place the round jack base at
on the oor. Slide the lifting tube over the ram and secure them in
place by tightening the hex head bolt.

saddle tube closest to the saddle. Allow the exposed ends of the
detent pin to rest on the lifting tube.

pumped and sometimes the jack will not pump in full incremental
strokes.
PURGING AIR FROM THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
The release valve is activated by stepping on the foota.
treadle. Stepping on the right of the treadle closes the
release valve for pumping and stepping on the left of the
treadle opens the release valve for lowering the load. Step
on the left of the treadle while simultaneously using one
hand to pump the foot pedal about ten full strokes.
Release your foot from the foot treadle and pump the jackb. until the ram is extended to maximum height.
If the condition remains, repeat steps “a” and “b” until all thec. air is purged from the system.
Note: Revision letters (A, B, C, D etc.) after model numbers have been omitted as they do not affect the setup,
operating and maintenance instructions of a particular jack unless otherwise noted.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure the vehicle is stable and is at the proper work height1.
before positioning the under hoist jack.
Consult the lift and/or vehicle manufacturer for the proper2.
positioning of the under hoist jack.
Become familiar with the operation of the jack. The saddle can3.
be lifted close to the vehicle component. Disengage the detent
pin that locates the saddle tube on the lifting tube. Using one
hand, raise the saddle tube so the saddle is close to the vehicle
component and then install the detent pin in the saddle tube hole
closest to the top edge of the lifting tube.
Pumping the jack will raise the saddle the additional distance4.
required to make contact with the vehicle component. The release
valve foot treadle is spring loaded and normally in the closed
position for pumping. You can tap slightly on the right side of the
foot treadle to make sure it is closed. IMPORTANT: Excessive
force applied to the release valve foot treadle is not necessary
for opening and closing the release valve and will damage the
release valve shaft. The pump pedal can now be activated to raise
the saddle. IMPORTANT: Remember that the jack is designed to
lift, lower or support vehicle components. Continuing to pump the
jack will add pressure against the vehicle component. Do not exert
excessive force against the vehicle component as it might cause
the vehicle or component to become unstable.
Make sure the vehicle component is secured to the vehicle5.
before lowering the jack. The jack can be lowered by stepping on
the left side of the release valve foot treadle. Maintaining pressure
on the foot treadle will lower the saddle to its lowest position. If
foot pressure is released from the left side of the release valve
foot treadle, the release valve will close off and the saddle will not
lower.
REPAIR SERVICE
If your Norco product requires service or repair, contact the Norco
Customer Service Department for the location of the nearest Norco
Authorized Service Center.

It will be necessary to provide the Norco Authorized Service Center
with a copy of the bill of sale if requesting warranty repair. If the
authorized service center determines your product is eligible for
warranty repair, the repair will be made at no charge and returned
freight prepaid. The cost of non-warrantable service, repair, and
return freight is the customer’s responsibility.
Always store the jack in a well protected area where it will not1.
be exposed to inclement weather or any harmful elements. The
jack must be cleaned of water, snow, sand, or grit before using.
The jack must be lubricated periodically in order to prevent2.
premature wearing of parts or rusting. A general purpose grease
must be applied to the axle, wheels and pump linkage. Do not
lubricate the ram, pump piston and saddle. Make sure that no
lubrication or grease comes in contact with the saddle. Always
inspect the saddle prior to use and remove any traces of a
substance that could cause saddle slippage.
Every jack owner is responsible for keeping the jack label3.
clean and readable. Use a mild soap solution to wash the external
surfaces of the jack. Contact Norco Industries for a replacement
label if your jack’s label is not readable.
Inspect the jack before each use. Do not use the jack if it is4.
cracked, broken, bent, shows signs of thread damage, has loose
or missing hardware, or is altered or modied in any way. Take
corrective action before using the jack again.
