MCS 5100 Release 4.0 runs on IBM eServer x306m servers. These servers
provide the following:
•Intel Pentium 4 3.6 GHz processor
•4 GB PC4200 DDR II memory
•two 80 GB SATA hard drives
•DVD drive
•two Ethernet ports
•RoHS compliance

New operating system software
MCS 5100 Release 4.0 runs on Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES3. This
platform provides the following:
•Only one installation CD is required for the operating system.
•Installation time is reduced to 15 minutes.
•The operating system is open source and reliable.
New deployment options
The following new deployment options are available:
•Small system (one server)
•Medium nonredundant system (four servers)
•Medium redundant system (eight servers)
New system components
The following are the main system components for MCS 5100 Release 4.0:

•System Manager (Fault Performance Manager)
