L99260 Adjustable Width Bedsck
General Safety Warning
Please ensure these instructions are fully read and
implemented. Failure to do so may result in injury.
Retain these instructions in a safe place for future
reference.
1.0 Intended Use
The Adjustable Width Bedstick provides stable
support to assist users getting into and out of bed.
It can also be used to aid repositioning when lying
in bed.
2.0 Safety Precautions
WARNING – To avoid possible head entrapment,
position the Bedstick at least 320mm (12.5") away
from both headboard and footboard.
Always ensure that the mattress is pushed up as
close as possible to the Bedstick. Any gap could
allow the user to become wedged in between.
Do not exceed the maximum user weight of the
product 20st, 127kg.
Do not fit this product to slatted or profiling beds.
Not suitable for use by children.
3.0 Unpacking
Remove packaging and check all parts carefully. If
any parts appear damaged, do not assemble and
contact your supplier immediately.
4.0 Assembly Instructions
The Bedstick is packaged in three parts, figure 2.
Slot one end of the extension tubes inside the
handle section, align the holes and secure using an
‘e-clip’.
Slot the other end of the extension tubes inside the
main Bedstick frame tubes.
Place the Bedstick on top of the mattress to
determine the desired width.
Adjust to align the holes at desired width and insert
an ‘e-clip’ to secure the two sections together.

7.0 Maintenance
Check the Bedstick is correctly positioned and all
‘e-clips’ are secure.
If in use, check the strap is tight and secure.
Periodically inspect the product for signs of wear or
damage. Any suspected faults or damage should
immediately be reported to the supplier and the
product taken out of use.

9.0 Product Disposal
Product should be thoroughly cleaned prior to
disposal.
Product is manufactured from metal and plastic and
can be disposed of through Local Authority
Household Waste and Recycling Centres or
through Local Trade Waste Collectors.
10.0 Product Guarantee
NRS Healthcare guarantee this product for period
of 12 months, from the date of purchase, against
faulty materials and workmanship. This guarantee
does not cover; abuse, misuse, interference or
tampering with any part of the product.
Any guarantee issued by NRS Healthcare does not
affect your statutory rights.

5.0 Installation Instructions
Lift the mattress and slide the Bedstick underneath.
It should be sandwiched between the mattress and
divan base.
Locate the Bedstick such that the user can reach it
from a relaxed lying position without having to
stretch.
For the safety of the user this must be at least
320mm (12.5") away from both the headboard and
footboard.
It is recommended for the angle of the handle to
point away from the user.
5.1 Optional Strap
For added stability the Bedstick can be secured to
the divan base using a strap, Product Code
L75930. Please visit www.nrshealthcare.co.uk for
more details or contact Customer Services.
To Use:
Drop one end of the strap down the side of the
divan base.
Wrap the other end of the strap around one of the
flat Bedstick tubes resting on the divan base.
Continue to pass it underneath the divan and up the
far side.
Wrap it around the opposite flat tube of the Bedstick
resting on the divan base.
Pull the strap tight and secure using the buckle clip.
6.0 Cleaning
Clean regularly using a general purpose neutral
detergent and warm water.
Please check the suitability of the cleaning products
before use. Do not use abrasive cleaners or cloths
as these could permanently damage the surface of
the product and invalidate any warranty.
To disinfect, wipe with a dilute bleach solution and
rinse with fresh water.
Allow product to dry fully prior to use or storage.
