Flammability
The Cozy Comfort Gel Mattress meets the requirements of BS7177:2008 for medium
hazard.
The interior materials meet the requirements of The Furniture & Furnishings (Fire)
(Safety) Regulations 1988.
User Instructions
The Cozy Comfort Gel Mattress has been designed for use on solid / mesh, profiling / flat
bed bases, by patients in the high risk user category
, with a weight guide of up to 216
Kg / 34 stone.
Ensure that the surface of the bed is clear from debris before placing the mattress –
debris can damage the coating of the fabric.
Frequent rotation is strongly recommended for Non Turn mattresses as all foam grades
fatigue during use and turning will ensure loading is evenly spread across both sides and
ends of the mattress.
The cover on this mattress is removable for cleaning purposes. Always ensure that, if
removed, the cover is returned to the same inner. Using this cover on a different
mattress core MAY render the warranty invalid.
The label on this mattress has a unique batch number which should be used in the event
of a warranty claim. NEVER remove the label.
Indication of use based upon interface pressure readings–not a prescriptive criteria. Always
defer to clinician’s judgement. Safe working load based on test methods devised at the Recticel
International Development Centre, Wetteren, Belgium.
Warranty
Covered against faulty manufacture and materials as replacements goods.
Normal wear and tear expected would not be included.

Cleaning and Laundering
For general cleaning and superficial dirt, use a disposable wipe with a solution of warm
water and neutral detergent. Do not use abrasive or phenolic-based cleaners.
To disinfect in situ, use a 0.1% sodium hypochlorite solution (1,000 ppm chlorine).
Removable, contaminated covers should be laundered at 65°C for not less than 10 minutes
or at 95°C for not less than 3 minutes.
Frequent or prolonged exposure to higher concentration disinfectant solutions may
prematurely age the fabric of the cover.
Thoroughly rinse and dry the cover before re-use or storage. Store in a cool dry area.
Do not mangle or iron.
Spin and tumble-dry at not more than 60°C.
Storage & Care
Store the mattress flat –do not fold
Do not place heavy or sharp objects on the mattress surface when not in use
Do not allow sharp objects to penetrate the cover coating
Keep the mattress clean and use a protective cover when not in use
Regularly inspect the interior and exterior of the mattress
Do not store in damp conditions or next to radiators or other heating devices
Store in a cool, dry area. Do not store directly onto the floor
Do not drag or pull a mattress by its cover
Adult mattresses should be handled by two people
Mattresses should be transported on a bed or trolley suitable for the purpose
To aid storage and handling this Cozy Comfort Gel mattress may be compact rolled. Whilst
this does not affect the performance and lifespan of the mattress, the mattress should be
unrolled within 21 days of receipt.
When removing packaging use great care to ensure the cover is not damaged.
This mattress can be used one hour after unrolling. However, it may take longer before the
mattress is fully restored to its original shape.
Please ensure that once unrolled the cover seams sit correctly to the edges of the foam
mattress and that the zip is fully closed before use. Some seam slippage may occur in the
rolling process but can easily be re aligned over the mattress core.
Some degree of creasing may occur to the mattress cover, this is a normal result of the
rolling process and cannot be avoided.
