Top Tips & Quick Reference
If the fan is turned off while the Child Lock is activated – no buttons will operate until the
Child Lock mechanism is deactivated by pressing & holding the OSC key on the manual
control panel for 2-3 secs – then normal functions can resume.
If blue light shows on the pedestal display beside symbol – the CHILD LOCK function is
activated. To disable this function press & hold OSC button on manual controls for 2-3 secs.
Touching the fan grilles for less than 2 secs will cause the fan to briefly stop operating.
Touching the fan for longer than 2 secs will turn the fan off completely.
Ultra-quiet and ideal for night-time use ~ the beeps can be turned off for Silent operation
by pressing the button on the remote control (see page 18 for more information).

technologies. This elegant, height adjustable tabletop / pedestal fan is ideal for any location ~
home or office. Combining design, quality, performance and safety with significantly reduced
running costs*.
The equipment bears the C mark indicating its conformity with the provision of C regulations.
Safety Instructions
Please read this instruction manual before using your Touch-Safe, nergy Saving 12in / 30cm Tabletop
/ Pedestal Fan for the first time and keep safe for future reference.
CAUTION:
This fan is designed for domestic use only so please use as described in this manual.
1. Check the household voltage to ensure
it matches the fan’s rated specification
before using.
2. Always use this devise in accordance with
the instructions.
3. Close supervision is necessary when this
fan is used near children and pets.
4. Do not allow children to play with the
product or product packaging, such as
plastic bags.
5. Repairs may only be carried out by a
recognised repair centre, incorrect
handling and faulty repairs may lead to
danger and invalidate warranty.
6. This fan is not intended for use in wet or
damp locations.
7. Never position the fan in an area where
it may fall into a bath or other water
container.
8. Do not use this fan if it has any damaged
parts or it has fallen into water. Return the
product to a recognised repair centre for
examination and repair.
9. Do not insert any object into the grille whilst
the fan is operating. It may cause damage
to persons or property.
10. Always turn off the power supply before
unplugging the product to move, store or
clean it.
11. Always use both hands to carry this product.
Do not lift by the carry handle alone –
please support the fan base.
12. Do not operate the fan near an open
flame, cooking or heating appliance or hot
surface.
13. Always place your fan on a firm, dry, level
surface, away from curtains & blinds.
14. This fan is intended for indoor, domestic &
light commercial use only and is not to be
operated outside.
15. Do not hang anything from the fan grille.
16. Disconnect the unit from the electrical
outlet before cleaning.
17. To disconnect from the power supply, grip
the plug and pull from the power socket.
Never pull by the cord.
18. Arrange the power cord away from an
area where it may be tripped over.
19. Never place the power cord under a
carpet or rug.
20. Do not direct the fan towards babies or the
elderly for extended periods.
21. If the power cord is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
22. Do not operate if the fan grille is removed or
damaged.
23. This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or
lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
24. Keep the remote control in a safe place or
in the cradle provided, when not in use.

♦Be sure to direct the remote control toward the
receiver on the control panel.
♦Use the remote control within 3 metres from the
receiver. If the remote control is not directed
towards the receiver; the effectiveness will be
reduced.
♦Do not place any obstacle between the receiver
and remote control.
♦Please treat your remote control with care.
Knocking or dropping it will reduce its reliability.
♦Please store the remote control safely in the
remote control cradle when not in use.

Assembly ethod
♦Please assemble correctly according to the following sequence.
Refer to parts description on page 6-8 (Figs.4 & 10).
♦Please keep the original packaging for future storage.
Fixing Base Plate:
Remove the base plate securing nut
from the stand base at the bottom of the
pedestal pole (turning anti-clockwise).
Pass the power cord on the stand pole
through the hole in the base plate.
Put the base plate on a flat and stable
surface to place toe of the pedestal into
the front recess of the base plate.
Hold the pole steady and firmly push the
rear of the pedestal into the base plate
until you hear a click. If it doesn’t click
into place easily, check that the base
plate securing screw has been removed.
Keep the power cord free from
becoming trapped by the base plate.
Gently lay the pedestal pole down and
re-attach the base plate securing nut to
the stand pole and tighten firmly turning
clockwise (do not over-tighten).

Unpack otor:
Before installing the rear grille – remove
the blade cap turning clockwise (as
indicated).
Remove the protective plastic tube from
the motor shaft. This tube is to prevent
motor shaft from rusting during storage –
so retain for future use or winter storage.
Remove the grille clamping nut, turning
anti-clockwise.
Assemble Rear Grille:
With motor housing in the
horizontal position, align the
rear grille with the two lugs at
the top of the motor housing
(close to carry handle) and
the single lug at the bottom.
Secure the rear grille firmly in
place with the clamping nut
rotating it clockwise. Do not
over-tighten.

Attaching Fan Blade:
Place fan blade on the motor shaft and align
the axle pin with the recess on the reverse side
of the fan blade.
Turn the spinner to the left, so that there is no
looseness and the axle pin fits comfortably into
the fan blade recess.
NOT :
Don’t forget to remove protective tube before
attaching the grilles & fan blade.
Secure in place with the blade cap turning anti-
clockwise (as indicated).
Attaching the front grille:
Check the rear grille for the “alignment
notches” in the metal rim and align these
with the hook at the top of the front grille.
Loosen securing screw on front grille –
opposite edge to the hook.
Place the front grille and guard ring over
the rear grille and click it securely in place
– squeeze the rear grille if necessary.
Check the grille rims are not touching –
there should be c. 2mm gap all round for
best fit and to allow Touch-Safe function
to operate correctly.
Finally, re-tighten the securing screw.

Remote Control Cradle
Clip the Remote Control Cradle onto the
Pedestal Pole.
Tilt Adjustment
Gently tilt the fan head up or down to the
desired angle – there are six tilt positions
from vertical to horizontal.
NB Only adjust tilt when the fan is turned off.
Adjusting tilt when the fan is operating may
damage the tilt mechanism.
Oscillation Adjustment
Gently swivel the fan head to the preferred
position and angle of swing.
NB: Only adjust the oscillation angle when
the fan is turned off. Adjusting the oscillation
angle when the fan is moving, may damage
the oscillation mechanism.
Height Adjustment:
Press height adjustment button to release
pole, adjust the inner pole to the desired
height and click into place.
There are ten stages from 90cms to 111cms.
Touch-Safe Sensor Function
Touching the fan grille (back or front) while
the fan is running, will cause it to stop for
about 2 seconds.
Operation resumes after a short period of
time after the potential hazard has passed.
If the fan grille is touched for more than
2 seconds whilst the fan is in operation,
the fan will stop completely, and all the
indicator lamps will go off.
To resume operation after automatic shut-
off, press the “On / Off” button on the
manual or remote controls.

Operating Instructions
The fan can be operated manually by the control panel on the fan base or by the remote control.
NB:
Certain features (eg: Timer ON or Timer OFF, Silent & Breeze Mode functions) can only be
operated via the remote control supplied with the product.
ON/OFF
ON/OFF: Once the unit is connected to the power supply, press the “On/Off” button
using the manual control panel (by foot or hand) or the
key on the remote
control to turn on the fan. The fan will beep to indicate the fan is ready and it will
initially start at Speed 1. Subsequent re-starts will remember the previous setting, until
turned off and unplugged from the wall.
To switch off the unit, press the button on the manual controls (by foot or hand) or
on the remote control to stop the fan from running.
SPEED /
AIRFLOW
SPEED /AIRFLOW: When the fan is first plugged into the electrical supply, the fan
speed will be set at speed 1 and one beep will sound. Subsequent uses will
remember the previous setting, unless physically unplugged from the mains supply.
♦To increase the speed/airflow use the “⊕” button on the remote control or turn the
dial on the fan base clockwise. Speed/airflow level is indicated by a flashing light
(odd numbers) and then solid light (even numbers) at each level to speed 24.
♦To decrease the speed/airflow use the “Θ” on the remote control or turn the dial
on the manual control panel anti-clockwise until you reach your preferred speed
setting.
♦To move the speed more quickly via the remote control, press and hold the “⊕” or
“Θ” button until the desired setting is achieved, then release.

OFF

Timer OFF
The OFF timer can only be set using the Remote Control and only when the
fan is powered ON.
♦Press the ON / OFF button to start operation.
♦Press the Timer OFF Button on the remote control once for 1hr duration, twice for
2hrs duration, etc – keep pressing OFF until the desired time is reached – 1 – 2 – 4 –
6 hrs of operation. The orange L D lights will be lit accordingly on the pedestal
display.
♦Operation stops automatically after the set time elapses.
ON TI ER
DELAYED
START
NOTE:
Timer ON
To set the ON timer for delayed start, the fan needs to be powered ON and the OFF
timer needs to be active first for 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 hrs.
♦The ON timer can only be set using the Remote control.
♦Keep pressing Timer ON to choose 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 hrs delayed start.
♦After about 5 secs the delayed start L D light will be lit.
♦When the set time elapses, the fan starts automatically at the previous setting –
fan speed, oscillation, mode, etc.
If the ON Timer is set and Delayed Timer light is lit, no buttons will operate on the
manual controls or remote control until the fan has turned itself on again or the
Power ON button is pressed. If the Power button is pressed, this will cancel the
Delayed Timer and recommence operation at the previous settings.

TWIN
TI ER
Twin Timer – OFF & ON
♦To set both OFF and ON twin timers, the fan needs to be ON.
♦You can only use this function via the Remote Control.
♦Once you have chosen the desired run time 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 hrs by pressing the Timer
OFF button – you can then select the delayed start by pressing the ON Timer
button eg: 1 – 2 – 4 – 6 hrs. The Orange L D lights will indicate the duration
chosen and the fan will restart automatically when the set time elapses
remembering the fan speed, oscillation and mode from the previous setting.
♦Use in conjunction with Speed/Airflow; OSC angle and Mode settings.
♦When the Twin Timer function is used, the fan will turn on automatically at the start
time set and the fan will run for 8hrs and then turn off automatically. If any other
button is pressed during this 8hrs the automatic shut off will be cancelled.
Example 1: 2hr run time, then 2hrs OFF/Delayed start – restart and run for 8hrs before
automatically switching off.
Example 2: 6hr run time, followed by 6hrs OFF, restarting and running for a further
8hrs before automatically turning off.
OSC
Oscillation & Child Lock
♦Press OSC on the main control panel or remote control to select oscillation
function – horizontal swing 30° / 70° / 110°. Keep pressing until the desired angle of
oscillation is reached.
♦Unless Silent operation is selected, one beep will sound each time the OSC button
is pressed and two beeps will sound when de-selecting oscillation function.

LOCK
♦Press and hold the OSC key on the manual controls for 2-3 secs to activate the
CHILD LOCK function – to prevent any accidental or unwanted changes to the
programme. The blue light will show on the pedestal display beside symbol.
♦Only the OFF button will operate when the CHILD LOCK is engaged.
♦NOTE: If the fan is turned off or turns off automatically by the TOUCH-SAF
function – no buttons will operate at all until the CHILD LOCK is disabled.
♦Press & hold the OSC button on the manual controls for 2-3 secs until the blue
CHILD LOCK light goes out to disable CHILD LOCK.
♦The fan will remember the settings programmed before auto shut-off and set at
the time of engaging the CHILD LOCK function.
ECO /
POWER
SAVING
ODE
NOTE:
Eco ode / Power Saving Feature
♦Press MOD button once on the remote control for co / Power Saving feature.
The green L D light will be lit beside the Mode icon.
♦Airflow Speed as follows – refer to Speed settings on Page 12:

green L D light will flash beside the Mode icon.
♦Natural Breeze Airflow/Speed as follows – refer to Speed settings on Page 12:
If Motion/Body Sensor, Temperature Sensor or Laundry/Turbo buttons are pressed
Natural Breeze mode will be cancelled.

NOTE:
Night ode
♦Press MOD button three times on the remote control for Night setting. The green
L D light will be lit beside the Night mode icon on the pedestal display.
♦Night mode operates for 8hrs stepping down one level after 30mins operation,
depending on the Airflow/Speed selected.
♦Night mode Airflow/Speed as follows – refer to Speed settings on Page 12:
If Motion/Body Sensor, Temperature Sensor or Laundry/Turbo buttons are pressed
Night mode will be cancelled. ON Timer and OFF Timer will not operate.
AUTO
ODE
Auto ode / Heatwave Setting / Intelligent Breeze:
♦Press the key on the remote control to turn on AUTO Mode/Heatwave Setting.
The green lamp will be lit beside the Auto Mode icon on the pedestal display.
♦Press the key again to deactivate Auto Mode.
♦Within 30 secs the fan will detect the room temperature and the fan speed will
adjust as follows:
Room Temp < 24°C < 28°C < 31°C < 35°C > 35°C

♦After 30 mins the sensor will reassess the air temperature and adjust the fan speed
operation accordingly.
OTION
/ BODY
SENSOR
otion / Body Sensor:
♦
To select Motion/Body Sensor – the fan must be ON.
♦
When choosing this option, you can select OSC function but not Timer ON or OFF.
If the Timer is set when Motion/Body Sensor is pressed – the TIM R function will
cease.
♦
Detection range may fluctuate depending on conditions such as season and
room temperature.
♦
When Motion/Body Sensor is selected and no person is detected after 5 mins, the
fan will enter “standby”. The fan blade and oscillation will cease and the Sensor
light will flash. All other lights will be turned off.
♦
If the fan does not detect any movement within 2hrs the fan will turn off
completely.
♦
If motion is detected within 2hrs, the fan will restart at the program previously set.

♦Select T MP setting on the manual controls or via remote control.
♦The room temperature is displayed on the manual control panel.
♦If you press the “On / Off Button” and stop while the temperature sensor mode is
set, do not disconnect the power plug.
♦Press the " On / Off Button" again to restart the temperature sensor operation.
♦If you set “Temperature sensor operation” during “Power saving”, “Breeze Mode”
and “Night Mode” operation, the “Mode” setting will cease.
♦During the motion sensor operation, "motion sensor operation" continues even if
"temperature sensor operation" is set.
♦Clothes Drying/Turbo setting will over-ride the “Temperature sensor operation”.
If Turbo setting is deactivated – the fan reverts to Temperature sensor operation.
♦The temperature sensor on the manual control panel detects the room
temperature and operates automatically.
♦NB: The fan will not operate in temperatures below 23°C (High setting) or below
26°C (Low setting).
♦Room temperature varies by location. It may be different from the room
thermometer.
♦The operation mode and air flow pattern for Temperature Sensor settings are
shown in the table below:

TURBO
NOTE:
Laundry / Turbo Setting:
♦When the Laundry/Turbo mode is set, the ON timer or OFF timer settings are
cancelled.
♦The Laundry/Turbo lamp lights up, the air volume setting is maximized to 1100RPM,
and the clothes drying operation starts.
♦This setting automatically stops after 4 hours of operation.
♦During clothing drying operation, you cannot adjust the air volume or set the on /
off timer – the airflow is set to maximum.
♦If Temperature Sensor or Motion Sensor buttons are pressed when the Laundry/
Turbo setting is running – Temperature or Motion Sensor options will take over.
♦Touch the Laundry/Turbo key a 2

time to return to normal operation.
♦If the fan grilles are touched when the Laundry/Turbo setting is operating, the fan
will stop automatically.
♦Please ensure the room is well ventilated when using the Laundry/Clothes drying
function to assist in the drying process.
Use extreme caution when using this fan under or near wet or damp items.

UTE
Silent ode:
♦Press the key on the remote control to turn off the beep indicators. The green
lamp will be lit beside the Silent icon on the pedestal display.
♦Press the Silent key again to reactivate beep indicators; the fan will beep twice.
♦NB: It is not possible to activate Silent operation until the fan is turned ON.
♦If Silent mode is selected and the OFF button is pressed, one beep will sound as
the fan and all the lights turn off.
♦When the fan is turned ON again, one beep will sound to indicate the fan is back
in operation. The Silent light will re-light and no other beeps will sound as other
buttons are pressed until or unless the OFF/ON button is pressed or when TOUCH-
SAF is activated when one beep will indicate the fan is turning off.
Troubleshooting
If any problems occur during use, please check the following:
Problem & Solutions
The fan blade does not run when the power is on:
♦Check if the power lead is correctly plugged into the mains socket & the power is on.
♦Check the fuse.
♦Check if the fan grille is deformed or touching the fan blade.
♦Check if you have selected Pre-Set Timer (eg: Countdown Timer / Delayed Start) by mistake.
Press On/Off button to override Pre-Set Timer setting.
♦Check if you have selected Temperature Sensor Setting or co or Auto Mode. The room
temperature may be outside the parameters detailed on Pages15, 16 & 17.
There is an abnormal sound when starting up:
♦Check if the fan blade is inserted correctly onto the motor shaft and the back of the fan blade is
completely aligned with the axle pin.
♦Check if there are fine burn marks around the fan blade. Check if the fan grilles are deformed or
touching the blade. If so, disassemble and re-assemble grilles & fan blade – Pages 9-10.

Cleaning & Care
♦Always turn off the power supply and unplug the appliance from the mains socket before
cleaning.
♦Do not use any chemical-based solutions for cleaning fan surfaces.
♦Slightly moisten a cloth and then wipe off the surfaces of the fan.
♦In order to remove the dust from the protective fan grille use a vacuum cleaner upholstery
attachment.
♦nsure fan is completely dry before storage or reconnecting to electrical supply.
♦Never immerse the fan or fan motor in water or other liquid.
♦If the fan is not used for long periods, protect with a suitable cover after cleaning, then store in a
dry place or dismantle and return to retail carton for winter storage.
♦Remove battery from remote control before storage.

Before cleaning or carrying out routine maintenance on your fan please always ensure the product is
removed from the power supply.
♦Clean the fan body and fan blade to avoid colour change or damage.
♦For details on how to remove the front grille for cleaning purposes – reverse the assembly process
detailed on Pages 9 & 10 (Figs.15-19).
♦Do not let water get into the motor housing during cleaning.
♦Use a soft damp cloth to clean the fan blade, grilles, pedestal and base, dry them completely
before re-assembly or storage.
Storage
~
after cleaning your fan,
please follow the guidelines below to store your product.
♦Apply a few drops of lubricant on motor shaft to prevent corrosion.
♦Replace the plastic protection tube and reverse the unpacking process detailed on page 9.
♦Wherever possible we suggest you keep the original packaging for storing the fan.
♦Store the fan in a dry place.
Recycling & Disposal
The packaging of your new fan has a recycle mark on it. If you are not
intending to retain the packaging for winter storage, please dispose
of it as recycled paper or by using the “Dual System”.
The symbol on the product and on its packaging indicates that this product may not be
treated as general household waste. Instead it should be handed over to the applicable
collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product
is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the
environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste
handling of this product. For more detailed information about the recycling of this product, please
contact your local council office, your household waste disposal service or the store where you
