SPECIFIC SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
AND WARNINGS
1. Never use the jack for any purpose other than the information in
this manual.
2. Verify that the product and application are compatible, if in doubt
call OEMTOOLS®at 1-866-458-2472.
3. Before using this product, read the operator’s manual completely
and familiarize yourself thoroughly with the product and its
components, and recognize the hazards associated with its use.
4. Wear appropriate safety gear, including heavy duty work gloves and
ANSI-approved safety goggles during use.
5. Raise and lower the unloaded jack throughout the lifting range
before putting into service to ensure the pump operates smoothly.
Replace worn or damaged parts.
6. DO NOT exceed the weight capacity of the jack. Make sure weight
is evenly distributed. Be aware of dynamic loading! Sudden load
movement may briefly create excess load causing product failure.
Exceeding the maximum capacity for this product is dangerous and
can lead to serious injury or property damage.
7. Always evaluate your task before using this jack. This jack is
designed to lift (but not support) your vehicle. Use only as intended.
8. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack.
9. It is recommended that each un-lifted tire be chocked in both
directions.
10. Use only on a hard, level and flat surface capable of bearing the
combined weight of the jack, the load being lifted, the operator and
any tools being used.
11. DO NOT attempt to move or dolly a vehicle with a jack.
12. DO NOT lift or carry the jack by the handle. The handle may
become disconnected resulting in injury or property damage.
13. Before each use, inspect the general condition of the jack. Check
for oil leaks, jack operation, loose components, free rotation and
pivoting of saddle adjustment components. If a problem occurs,
have the problem corrected before further use.
WARNING:DO NOT use a damaged or malfunctioning jack.
14. If in doubt about the safety of your project, we advise you to have the
work done by a professional familiar with applicable safety practices.
BEFORE USE
1. Check before each use for abnormal conditions such as cracked
welds, leaks, damaged, loose or missing parts.
2. Inspect the jack immediately if lift is believed to have been
subjected to an abnormal load or shock.
3. If the jack is found to be damaged, it should be removed from
service until properly repaired.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:
1. Study, understand and follow all instructions before operating this
device.
2. IMPORTANT: Before attempting to raise any vehicle, check vehicle
service manual for recommended lifting surfaces.
A. SETUP
There is little or no preparation for the setup of this jack. Make sure
the jack is in its low height position. The handle is used to raise and
lower the jack. Rotating the handle on the jack screw in a clockwise
direction will raise the jack saddle and rotating in a counterclockwise
direction will lower the jack saddle.
B. LIFTING
1. Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended guidelines for
lifting. Engage the emergency brake and chock each un-lifted
wheel in both directions to prevent inadvertent vehicle movement.
2. Insert the jack handle onto the jack screw.
3. Make sure that the saddle is correctly positioned. To prevent
damage to the jack, DO NOT move the jack while the handle is
intact in the socket.
4. To raise the load, use one hand to hold the front part of the handle
on the screw and use the other hand to turn the screw in a
clockwise direction. Raise the load to desired height.
Place jack stands of appropriate capacity under the vehicle.
WARNING:DO NOT CRAWL UNDER VEHICLE WHILE LIFTING
VEHICLE OR PLACING OR REMOVING JACK STANDS!
5. Place jack stands at vehicle manufacturer’s recommended support
areas that provide stable support for the raised vehicle. Once jack
stands are positioned, rotate the screw VERY SLOWLY (by turning
the handle counterclockwise). Lower the load to rest on the jack
stands.
C. LOWERING
WARNING:Clear all tools and personnel before lowering load.
1. Raise load high enough to clear jack stands.
2. Remove jack stands.
WARNING:DO NOT CRAWL UNDER VEHICLE WHILE LIFTING
VEHICLE OR REMOVING THE JACK STANDS!
3. To lower the load, use one hand to hold the front part of the
handle on the screw and use the other hand to turn the screw in a
counterclockwise direction SLOWLY.
CAUTION: Keep hands and feet away from the hinge
mechanism of the jack.
MAINTENANCE
Always store the jack in a well protected area where it will not be
exposed to inclement weather, corrosive vapors, abrasive dust, or any
other harmful elements. The jack must be cleaned of water, snow,
sand, grit, oil, grease or other foreign matter before using.
When jack is not in use, lifting arm should be in full down position.
Always keep jack clean and keep the screw and bearings well
lubricated. Store the handle with care.
LUBRICATION
The jack must be lubricated periodically in order to prevent premature
wearing of parts. A general purpose grease must be applied to the
drive screw. Failure to maintain proper lubrication voids warranty
CLEANING
Every jack owner is responsible for keeping the jack label clean and
readable. Use a mild soap solution to wash external surfaces of the
jack but not the drive screw.
