Be sure to read this instruction manual in order to
use this SS Checker properly.
●Please thoroughly read "For Safe Use" before using this SS Checker
properly.
●Because these precautions are related to failure or malfunction, observe
the precautions for use without fail.
Do not use TS-1000-D/TS-1000SP-D except for measurement of
water quality.
" " denotes "Prohibited action", and " " denotes "Required action" .
In the unlikely event of
occurrence of abnormalities
such as smoke or abnormal
noise, immediately turn off
the power.
Do not disassemble or
modify the sensor.
Handle with care not to
damage.
Use the sensor with
24 VDC.

3 Installation
Before installation, turn off the power switch of SC-U1 or
disconnect the power cable from the supply source and wire
the power cable after the installation is complete.
" " denotes "Prohibited action", and " " denotes "Required action" .
Suspend the sensor so as
not to impinge upon a wall
or facility equipment due
to water flow. In the case
of higher water flow, fix the
sensor.
With fluctuation of water
level taken into account,
dispose the sensor so as
to be immersed up to of the
order of 30 cm below the
expected lowest water level.
30 cm

Install the sensor max. 2 m
below the surface of the
water.
Dispose the sensor in
water without air bubbles.
Max. 2 m
Sensor installation

9
Suspend the sensor so that
it is not hung vertically.
Reference
An optional mounting attachment (TA-1,
TA-1SP) is prepared for users who use
the sensor at a place at high water flow.
This attachment serves to prevent a
sensor from impinging upon a side wall or
turning around.
For details, contact your dealer or visit
our website:
https://www.optex.co.jp/e/products/
environmental-sensor/
・Read the precautions in the “TA-1 instruction manual” carefully.
・Attach the cable protective cover without fail. Otherwise, there is a
possibility that a cable is scratched during maintenance operation and
water intrudes.
・Do not hang a sensor with the sensor cable.
・Do not cover over measuring surface by the hanging attachment.
・When installing TS-1000SP-D, keep the metal part of the sensor away
from the surrounding metal.
Use attachment TA-1SP when using the product where water flows fast.
Using attachment TA-1 may accelerate corrosion.

10
Wrap the cable protective cover on the sensor side of the
sensor cable.
Hang the sensor by a chain wire with an attached lifting lug.
1
2
Holes for inserting
the lifting lug
Run the lifting lug
through the end of
the chain.
Open up the ends of the lifting
lug and inser
t into holes of the
hanging attachment.
Reference
The chain kit (TA-2: for TS-1000-D only) is optionally available.
For details, please contact the dealer or visit our website:
https://www.optex.co.jp/e/products/environmental-sensor/

11
Put the cable protective cover up to the root of the sensor
cable and secure it to the chain or other device with a cable
tying band.
3
Use a cable tying band to secure.
Cover the cable protective
cover over the end of the
sensor cable.
Caution
・An opening having the detection window faces immediately
lateral when hanging the sensor.
・If the sensor inclines at the time of hanging, make horizontal
adjustments by changing a point where the cable is fastened
on the chain wire.
Extension of sensor cable
The standard length of the sensor cable is 9 m. To extend the cable, refer to
the following.
To extend the cable, connection using pull box is recommended.
The cable clamp fits the cable sheath diameter of 6 to 8 mm.

4 Wiring
Before wiring, turn off the power switch of SC-U1 or
disconnect the power cable from the supply source and wire
the power cable after all the other wiring is complete.
Connect the sensor to SC-U1.
・The cable clamp fits the cable sheath
diameter of 6 to 8 mm.
・The sensor cable must be shielded
(CVV-S) with a nominal cross-sectional
area of 0.2 to 1.25 mm2.
・Refer to “Extension of sensor cable”
P.11 for extension of the sensor cable.
To extend the sensor cable, connection
using pull box is recommended.
・Wire the terminal block according to the
color of the tip of each wire.
Use this product by connecting to Universal Transmitter SC-U1.
For installation and wiring to SC-U1, refer to the “Universal Transmitter
SC-U1 Installation Manual”.

Sensor Setting
14
Response time
Set a signal output response time.
A measurement value is calculated using moving average of the time period
set by the signal output response time.
For example, if the sensor measures values every 5 seconds and the signal
output response time is set to 50 seconds, which is 5 seconds ×10 times,
the moving average of 10 times measurement is calculated and used as the
measurement value.
The recommended value for this product is 30 seconds or longer.
If the response is too fast with the factory default setting (5 seconds),
change the signal output response time as needed.
