2.0 INTRODUCTION
3.0 UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLY
Unpack the microscope from the box and put it on a stable surface. Unscrew the bottom part of the
penlight and insert two AAA batteries. Screw the lamp holder onto the microscope and fixate the
lamp to the lamp holder with the screws. The microscope is now ready to use.
4.1 Put the microscope on top of the object or surface you want to examine.
4.2 Switch on the light on the bottom of the lamp.
4.3 Rotate the focusing knob to bring the object into focus.
4.4 To avoid that the objective hits against the surface that are to be examined and in order to
always use the same focusing distance, the minimum height of the objective can be set.
When the image is in focus, lower the focus-stop ring on the microscope tube as much as is
possible and fixate it using the screw.
This microscope is a scientific precision instrument designed to last for many years with a minimum
of maintenance. It is built to high optical and mechanical standards and to withstand daily laboratory
use.
Optika reminds you that this manual contains important information on safety and maintenance, and
that it must therefore be made accessible to the instrument users.
Optika declines any responsibility deriving from instrument uses that do not comply with this ma-
nual.
4.0 USING THE MICROSCOPE

5.1 Always think about
- The following environment is required: Indoor temperature: 0-40°C, Maximum relative humi-
dity: 85 % (non condensing)
- Keep the microscope away from dust and shocks while in use.
- Turn off the light immediately after use.
- Use a soft lens tissue to clean the optics after use.
- Only if needed, use a cloth moistened with water and a mild detergent, rinsing with water
and drying immediately with a lint-free cloth.
- After use, cover the microscope with the included dust-cover, and keep it in a dry and clean
place.
5.2 Do not!
- Wipe the surface of any optical items with your hands. Fingerprints can damage the optics.
- Use solvents, neither on the microscope, nor on the optics.
- Disassemble objective or eyepieces to attempt to clean them.
- Mishandle or impose unnecessary force on the microscope.
- Clean the unit with volatile solvents or abrasive cleaners.
- Attempt to service the microscope yourself.
5.3 If you need to send the microscope to Optika for maintenance, please use the original
packaging.

6.0 RECOVERY AND RECYCLING
The appliance reports the symbol:
This symbol means that the appliance can be a precious source of raw materials. Therefore, it must
not be disposed of as waste, but separately collected for the recycling and the recovery of the mate-
rials it contained in it. Such materials, if improperly dispersed into the environment, can be harmful
to the environment and to human health.
The producer of the equipment, Optika Microscopes, recovers, re-uses and recycles the raw mate-
rials contained in the equipment. Such recovery, however, needs your help.
When, at the end of its operating life, you shall decide to dispose of the apparatus, do not try to open
it, nor to use parts of it in ways other than reported in this Manual, but bring it back to the Distributor
you bought it from, or to other Optika Microscopes distributors. The Distributor shall collect the ap-
paratus free of charge.
The recovery of the raw materials shall then take place in accordance with the European Directive
2002 / 96 / EC and all other relevant Directives. Never disassemble, nor dispose of as waste, appa-
ratus reporting the “crossed bin” symbol indicated above.

2.0 INTRODUZIONE
Il presente microscopio è uno strumento scientifico di precisione duraturo negli anni che richiede un
minimo di manutenzione. Viene costruito secondo elevati standard di qualità ottici e meccanici ed è
previsto per resistere ad un uso quotidiano in laboratorio.
Optika segnala che questa guida all’utente contiene informazioni importanti circa l’uso sicuro e la
corretta manutenzione del microscopio. È quindi necessario che chiunque utilizzi la presente appa-
recchiatura ne prenda visione. Optika declina eventuali responsabilità causate da un uso improprio
dei suoi strumenti, non contemplato dal presente manuale.
Estrarre il microscopio dal suo imballo ed appoggiarlo su di una superficie stabile. Svitare la parte
inferiore dell’illuminatore a penna ed inserirci due pile AAA. Avvitare il supporto lampadina al micro-
scopio e fissare la lampadina al supporto mediante le viti. Il microscopio è pronto all’uso.
4.1 Posizionare il microscopio sull’oggetto o la superficie da osservare..
4.2 Accendere la luce sulla parte superiore della lampada.
4.3 Mettere a fuoco l’oggetto girando l’apposita manopola di regolazione..
4.4 Per evitare che l’obiettivo urti contro la superficie da analizzare e per avere sempre la mede-
sima distanza di messa a fuoco, l’obiettivo può essere regolato ad altezza minima. Quando
l’immagine è a fuoco, abbassare il più possibile l’anello di blocco della messa a fuoco sul tubo
microscopico e bloccarlo mediante l’apposita vite.

5.1 Avvertenze
- Per un corretto funzionamento del microscopio, la temperatura interna dell’ambiente di lavoro
deve essere compresa tra 0 e 40C° e l’umidità massima relativa non deve superare l’85% (in
assenza di condensa).
- Durante l’uso, proteggere il microscopio da polvere ed urti.
- Spegnere la luce immediatamente dopo l’utilizzo.
- Dopo l’uso pulire le lenti con un panno morbido.
- Solo se necessario, servirsi di un panno inumidito con acqua e di un detergente neutro, ri-
sciacquare accuratamente con acqua ed asciugare immediatamente con un panno che non
rilasci pelucchi.
- Dopo l’utilizzo, coprire il microscopio con la custodia in dotazione e tenere in luogo asciutto e
pulito.
5.2 Raccomandazioni
- Non strofinare la superficie delle componenti ottiche con le mani, le impronte rilasciate pos-
sono danneggiare le lenti.
- Non utilizzare solventi, né sul microscopio né sulle ottiche.
- Non smontare gli obiettivi o gli oculari per pulirli.
- Maneggiare con molta cura il microscopio e le sue componenti.
- Non pulire il microscopio con solventi volatili o sostanze abrasive.
- Per la manutenzione, rivolgersi al fornitore.
5.3 Se fosse necessario rispedire il microscopio alla ditta Optika per la manutenzione, si prega
di utilizzare l’imballaggio originale.
