Маяк всегда должен быть надет на вас. Ни в коем случае не
переносите лавинный маяк в рюкзаке!
Наденьте плечевой ремень
Вставьте включающий фиксатор (14) в разъем (15)
Вставьте быстрый переключатель
По окончании использования, снимите с себя ваш m2.
Приподнимите пластинку выключателя (13) и вытяните
включающий фиксатор (14) - маяк отключится.
Маяк m2 переносится на поясном ремне с отстегиваемым
плечевым ремнем.
ВНИМАНИЕ: Безопасная переноска маяка обеспечивается
только двумя ремнями. Переноска маяка без ремней ставит
под угрозу вашу безопасность.

Put on the avalanche transceiver m2 befor e

never be carried in the backpack, they should
always be worn under your outer clothing!

After your tour , take of f your m2. Lift the ap of the
ON/OFF switch (13) and pull out the ON/OFF quick
lock fastener (14) – the transmitter is switched off.
The m2 is carried on a hip belt with a detachable
shoulder strap.
W ARNING: The only safe method of wearing the
transceiver is using the 2-belt system. Carr ying the
equipment without using the straps may endanger
your life.

Заряд батарей представлен в процентах, от 00 до 99. Для новых батарей это число - от 97 до 99
(в зависимости от производителя), индикатор заряда батарей будет полностью заполнен
Перед каждым использованием лавинного маяка проводите следующую процедуру проверки:
• Все члены группы переводят устройства в режим поиска.
• Один человек (предпочтительно, лидер группы) переводит свой маяк в режим ПЕРЕДАЧИ.
• Если все челны группы принимают звуковой и визуальный сигналы, то приемники в маяках исправны.
• После проверки ПРИЕМНИКОВ, группа должна проверить ПЕРЕДАТЧИКИ.
• Лидер группы переключает свой маяк в режим поиска, а члены группы - в режим ПЕРЕДАЧИ,
и проходят по очереди на расстоянии примерно 15 метров от лидера. Если лидер группы
получает визуальные и звуковые сигналы от маяка каждого члена группы, то передатчики исправны.
Если при проведении описанных выше операций вы заметили любые отклонения от нормы, просим
вас прислать ваше устройство в сервисный центр ORTOVOX для устранения неисправности (см. стр. 22)
ВАЖНАЯ ИНФОРМАЦИЯ!
Рекомендуем вынимать батареи из устройства на лето, а зимой устанавливать новые. Протекшие батареи
аннулируют гарантию. Не используйте перезаряжаемые элементы, (например, никель-кадмиевые аккумуляторы)
так как их срок службы и рабочий диапазон существенно ниже, чем у обычных батареек. Также рекомендуем
всегда иметь при себе запасные батареи.
Замените батареи, если на дисплее отображается символ пустой батареи. Севшие батареи обеспечат примерно
30 часов работы в режиме передачи и 2 часа работы в режиме поиска. Также при низкой температуре
окружающей среды и сильно севших батареях устройство производит только звуковой поиск. Используйте
только качественные батареи известных производителей, так как дешевые аналоги могут быть немного меньше
обычных. Это ведет к ухудшению контакта и понижению качества работы.
After switching on to transmitting mode, all the symbols appear on the display for about 5 sec.
Then the batter y capacity will be shown for another 5 seconds. The capacity will be indicated as a per -
centage from 00 to 99 and as a symbol. For new batteries the number 99 oder 97 (depending
on the brand) will be indicated and all 3 segments of the batter y symbol are lled up.
Please check the functions daily before going on a tour!
• All group members put their x1 on RECEIVE MODE.
• One member (preferably the group leader) puts his avalanche transceiver on
TRANSMIT MODE.
• If all members receive acoustic and visual signals, the receivers are correctly working.
• After checking the RECEIVERS, the group has to test the function of their TRANSMITTERS.
• The group members put their avalanche transceivers on TRANSMIT MODE and pass
the group leader’ s receiver ONE BY ONE at a distance of about 15 m. When the group
leader receives acoustic and visual signals from ever y single group member’ s avalanche
transceiver , the transmitters are working well.
When you notice any divergences from the functions described, please send your device directly
to the ORTOVOX ser vice center to have it repaired (see page 22).
IMPORT ANT INFORMA TION!
It is recommended that the batteries are taken out during the summer and new batteries are
put in for the winter. Leaking batteries void the warranty . Do not use rechargeable batteries
(e.g. NiCd accumulators) as the range and working life of these batteries are signicantly shor ter.
Carr y spare batteries and replace them when 05 is indicated on the display (empty batter y symbol).
Then you still have a capacity of at least 30 hours in transmitting mode and about 2 hours in
receiving mode. In case of weak batteries and a low outside temperature per haps only an acoustic
search may be possible in receiving mode. Both control lights ashing indicates that the device
is transmitting well. When replacing the batteries please make sure that you only use brand
names (alkaline) and that the batteries t well inside. Cheap batteries may be a little bit smaller
and therefore they may produce a bad or no contact.

Range: Due to laws of physics, transceivers’ ranges depend on the receiving and transmitting devices antenna-
e’s relational position to each other . A maximum range can only be achieved when both transceivers’ longitudinal
axis are aligned. Therefore, it is recommended to slowly pivot the ORTOVOX
patroller
in all dir ections for nding the
best receiving position when searching for the rst signal. T ransmitting and receiving per formance can be inter-
ferred by lightnings, ski lifts, power lines and plants, walkie-talkies, mobile phones and headlamps with voltage regu-
lators. When in use, we recommend switching off mobile phones and walkie-talkies. Minimum distance of 30 cm
between two avalanche transceivers, metal, walkie-talkie, mobile phone, etc.

Переведите переключатель (1) в положение «start». Если вы не сделали этого, на дисплее высветится напоминание.
Для переключения устройства в режим поиска, одновременно нажмите две красные клавиши на быстром
переключателе и извлеките его из устройства. Маяк будет пристрахован к вам плечевым ремнем.
Дисплей будет пуст при проведении грубого поиска (поиска первого сигнала), на нем также не будет ничего
отображаться и при получении первого сигнала.
Как только принимаемый сигнал станет достаточно сильным, на дисплее появится пустая стрелка и индикатор
расстояния (например, 35). В то же время заполненный указатель стрелки говорит о том, что выбрано
правильное направление поиска.
Чем ближе вы подходите к пострадавшему, тем больше ячеек высвечивается на стрелке, число на индикаторе
расстояния понижается. Также усиливается писк из динамика.
Если вы отклонились от линии напряженности, то указатель стрелки потухнет. Поводите маяк из стороны в
сторону в секторе примерно 300, пока указатель снова не загорится; идите в этом направлении.
Как только стрелка заполнится, загорится красный индикатор (2) и на дисплее высветится картинка переключения
зоны, стрелка на картинке указывает направление переключения. После поворота переключателя красный
индикатор потухнет.
Как только вы окажетесь в трех метрах от пострадавшего, можно переходить к точному поиску. Положите щуп
горизонтально на землю. Ведите маяк вдоль щупа сначала вправо, затем влево и отметьте две противоположные
точки, в которых сигнал наиболее сильный. Соедините их линией, разделите ее на две равные части, поверните
щуп на 90 градусов и начертите еще одну линию. Проведите поиск самого сильного сигнала вдоль этой линии,

Turn the switch to the „star t” position. If you fail to do this, the display will instruct you to turn the
switch back to this position. To switch to receiving mode, press both red buttons on the quick lock
simultaneously , and pull it out of the transceiver . The shoulder strap will then secure the m2.
During the coarse search (the search for the rst signal), the display will remain empty . It will continue
to remain empty even after the rst acoustic signal has been received.
As soon as the rst optical signal is received, the search arrow with the rst display of bars and indi-
cation of distance (e.g. 35) will appear . At the same time the lled arrow head conrms the direction
to the buried transceiver .
The nearer you get to the buried transceiver , the more bars will appear on the arrow , and the number dis-
playing distance will decrease. The beep on the loudspeaker also gets louder the closer you get.
If you should leave the correct search path (the induction line), the arrow head will empty. Tu rn the m2 in a
30° arc and sweep from right to left and back until the arrow head lls again to conrm the correct direction.
When the search arrow is totally lled with bars, the red light ashes, and the display will show a pic-
ture of the zone control switch with an arrow indicating which direction it should be turned. The red
light will disappear once the switch has been turned.
Once you are within 3 m of the victim, a pinpoint search must be carried out: Put a probe horizontal-
ly on the ground and mark the opposite ends or fade points of the strongest signal. Divide this line in
half and take a 90 degree turn. Mark once more both strongest signals on the new ver tical line. Divide
this line in half – there you will nd the buried person.

limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful inter ference in a residen-
tial installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and if
not installed and used in accordance with the instructions may cause harmful inter ference to
radio communications. However , there is no guarantee that inter ference will not occur in a par-
ticular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful inter ference to radio or television
reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encoura-
ged to tr y to correct the inter ference by one or more of the following measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver .
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different
from that to which the receiver is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

• Определение положения первого пострадавшего; помощники откапывают первого найденного.
Этот способ хорош при поиске нескольких людей, погребенных под лавиной недалеко друг от друга.
• Лавинный маяк ищущего переключается в более высокую зону поиска.
• Для поиска следующего сигнала ищущий проходит круг с радиусом 3 метра и центром в точке, в которой
был найден первый пострадавший. Проходя круг, он внимательно следит за визуальным индикатором
поиска и любыми его изменениями. Изменения индикатора показывают направление, в котором погребен
второй пострадавший. Следуйте за сигналом.
• Затем ищущий обходит второй круг радиусом 6 метров.
• После него третий круг, радиусом 9 метров.
• Важно проходить круги полностью
Good search method for locating several persons buried close together .
• Location of the rst buried person; the helpers dig for the rst person found.
• Now the searcher having an avalanche transceiver with manual volume control increases the
volume by switching into a higher search zone.
• In order to search for the second signal the searcher is walking a rst circle of a 3 m radius
around the person located rst. By doing so, he has to watch the display and the LEDs for
noticeable indication changes. A noticeable indication change points to a signal received from
a second person buried. Now follow this signal.
• Then the searcher is walking a second circle of a 6 m radius.
• The third and last circle has a radius of 9 m.
• Impor tant: Finish rmly the circle you star ted. W alk slowly the circles and keep the receiver
close to the snow sur face!!

If you originally bought your ORTOVOX avalanche transceiver from an authorized ORTOVOX dea-
ler, we grant a 5 year warranty from date of production if you submit your completed warran-
ty card (page 21).
The warranty period is indicated on the test seal in the batter y compar tment and on the
packing (IV/09 means for ex: end of warranty period with the end of the for th quar ter 2009).
At the same time the test seal reminds you of the recommended transceiver check.
W ithin the period of warranty , faulty par ts will be repaired or replaced free of charge.
Defects caused by wear and tear or improper use are excluded from warranty . Earphones
and batteries are also excluded from warranty . Wa rranty ser vices neither prolong nor renew the period of
warranty .
SERVICE
The ORTOVOX m2 is a rescue device. Its per fect function might be crucial for life. Therefore you should
return your device for factor y ser vice according to the date indicated on the test seal. We suggest that
you send back the device during the summer months to ensure that you have a fully tested device at the
beginning of the winter season. For repairs or factor y ser vicing, please return your ORTOVOX transceiver
to an appropriate ser vice center (see page 22).

Если вы купили лавинный маяк ORTOVOX у официального дилера ORTOVOX, то на ваш маяк
дается гарантия 5 лет со дня его производства, в том случае, если вы заполните и отправите
гарантийный талон (стр.17). Гарантийный период указан на наклейке в батарейном отсеке.
(Например, IV/09 означает, что гарантийный период оканчивается в четвертом квартале
2009 года.)
На наклейке также размещено напоминание о необходимости проверки.
В течение гарантийного периода любые неисправные части будут заменены бесплатно.
Не являются гарантийными случаи повреждений, вызванных физическим износом или
использованием устройства не по назначению. Наушники и батареи также не являются объектами гарантии.
По окончании гарантийного периода, гарантия не может быть продлена или возобновлена.
ОБСЛУЖИВАНИЕ
Лавинный маяк ORTOVOX m2 является спасательным устройством. Его безотказная работа может быть критически
важна для жизни. В связи с этим, в срок, обозначенный на наклейке в батарейном отсеке, вы должны отправить ваш
маяк для проведения заводской проверки. Советуем отправить маяк для проверки летом, чтобы к зиме у вас было
проверенное, исправное устройство. Для проведения ремонта или обслуживания, отправьте ваш маяк ORTOVOX в
обслуживающую организацию в вашей стране (см.стр.22).
