Thank you for using an Ottobock device. The following information provides
information about the t and use of the device. Please read the entire document
carefully before use and ask questions or clarication.
Practitioner tting instructions are provided on page 3.
Indications for Use
• Controls unwanted cervical exion/extension and rotation.
• Oers post-operative support and immobilization.
User Instructions
CAUTION
Usage Restrictions
This device is intended for single patient-use only. Reuse of the device is prohibited.
The daily use of the device depends on the medical indication and the prescribing
physician orders.
• Carefully follow all instructions provided by the practitioner and your prescribing
physician.
• Your device should only be removed to wash your face and neck and to change/
clean the liners, unless otherwise instructed by your practitioner or physician.
How to Apply
1. Face a mirror, if possible, to make it easier to reapply the device.
2. To reapply the device, place the front part of the brace with the chin portion on
yourneck.
3. While securely holding the front portion to your neck, carefully position the back
portion around the back of your neck, pull the straps forward until the device is
snug, and insert the straps into buckles and secure.
How to Remove
1. To remove the device, release the buckles and slide the straps out on one side of
the device, carefully remove the device and set it aside.
2. Keeping your neck still and straight, gently wash and thoroughly dry your face
andneck.
3. If necessary, replace liners with clean, dry liners.
Cleaning and Care
CAUTION
It is important to ensure the device is kept clean and dry. Do NOT use a washing
machine, dryer, bleach, or harsh chemicals to clean the device.
1. Remove the three liners that are attached to the plastic shell with hook and loop.
2. Hand wash the liners with mild soap and water.
3. Rinse thoroughly and gently squeeze to remove excess water. Allow to air dry
thoroughly, approximately 6-8 hours.
4. The plastic shell can be cleaned with mild soap and water, if needed. Towel
drythoroughly.

CAUTION
Do not place the device near or on a heat source or open ame. DO NOT USE HEAT TO
DRY THE DEVICE.
6. Reapply the back liner by folding the liner in half vertically and placing in the center
of the shell. Unfold and press into the shell to secure. The widest part of liner should
be at the bottom edge and should extend past the edge at least ⅜˝ all the way
around.
7. Reapply the lower front liner and the chin pad liner in the same manner as
explainedabove.

Practitioner Application Instructions
1. Apply device to patient’s neck, making sure that the mandible is securely in the
recess of the chin section and the lower edge is ush with the thoracic region. If the
patient is in a recumbent position, apply posterior section of device rst. Utilize the
black tool that is included to loosen the section. Aluminum “Y” chin yoke, occipital
aluminum spine element can be adjusted by hand to desiredcontours.
2. The posterior occipital component has an aluminum spine element that can be
shaped for total customization and conformity of cervical arch.
3. Loosen the knobs slightly so the straps and buckles can align themselves to the
patient contours. Securing the straps in place, then tighten the knobs.
4. While securely holding the front portion in place slide the ladder straps into the
buckles. Start the buckles in the unlocked position. Once the straps are through the
buckle, you can place the buckles in the locked position. This allows the strap to be
tightened but prevents loosening.
Manufacturer’s Limited Warranty
Otto Bock HealthCare, LP (Ottobock) warrants all of its devices, to the original purchaser,
to be free from defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty applies, subject
to normal wear and tear, when the devices are used as intended, without unapproved
modications, following all Ottobock instructions and requirements; and when they are
tted by or under the direct supervision of certied/licensed practitioners. This Limited
Warranty does not cover device damage caused by accidents, neglect, misuse or operation
beyond capacity, parts damaged by improper installation, substitution of parts not
approved by Ottobock, or any alteration or repair by others that, in Ottobock’s judgment,
materially or adversely aect the device.
The duration of this Limited Warranty varies by product types and is eective from the
date of delivery to the end-user. Please refer to www.ottobockus.com or call 800 3284058
for questions. Ottobock’s sole obligation under this Limited Warranty shall be to repair,
replace, refabricate the device at no charge, or refund the cost of the device to the original
purchaser, at Ottobock’s sole discretion.

Conseils pour l’utilisateur
ATTENTION
Conditions restrictives d’utilisation
Cette orthèse est destinée à l’usage exclusif d’un seul patient et ne doit en aucun cas
être réattribuée à une autre personne.
Le port quotidien de cette orthèse dépend de la condition médicale du patient et des
directives du médecin prescripteur.
• Respectez scrupuleusement les recommandations de votre médecin prescripteur et
de votre orthésiste.
• Votre orthèse ne peut être enlevée que pour vous laver le visage, le cou et pour
changer ou nettoyer les doublures sauf avis contraire de votre médecin prescripteur
ou de votre orthésiste.
Comment installer l’orthèse
1. Si cela est possible, mettez-vous devant un miroir ce qui vous permettra de
remettre l’orthèse plus facilement.
2. Pour la réinstaller, positionnez la partie de devant avec le menton bien en place.
3. Tout en maintenant la partie antérieure (devant), positionnez doucement la
partie postérieure (dos) au niveau de votre cou, tirez les courroies vers l’avant
jusqu’à ce que l’orthèse soit confortable et passez toutes les courroies dans les
boucles et bloquez.
4. Tirez sur les courroies autour de la taille et bloquez les boucles.
Comment enlever l’orthèse
5. Pour enlever l’orthèse, il sut de détacher toutes les boucles et de faire glisser
toutes les courroies que d’un seul côté de l’orthèse et de la mettre de côté.
6. Tout en maintenant votre cou droit et immobile, lavez doucement et séchez
soigneusement votre visage et votre cou.
7. Si nécessaire remplacez les doublures usagées par des doublures propres et
sèches
Nettoyage et entretien
ATTENTION
Il est important de s’assurer que l’orthèse soit toujours propre et sèche. N’utilisez pas
la machine à laver, la sécheuse, de l’eau de Javel ou des produits chimiques durs pour
laver l’orthèse.

1. Enlevez les doublures qui sont xées au plastique par des pastilles de Velcro.
2. Lavez les doublures à la main avec du savon doux et de l’eau.
3. Rincez minutieusement et enlevez l’excès d’eau en tordant doucement les
doublures. Laissez sécher complètement à l’air libre pendant 6 à 8 heures.
4. Les coques en plastique peuvent être éventuellement lavées à l’eau avec un
détergent doux. Séchez minutieusement avec une serviette.
ATTENTION
Ne laissez pas l’orthèse près ou sur une source de chaleur ou près d’une amme vive.
N’UTILISEZ SURTOUT PAS UNE SOURCE DE CHALEUR POUR SÉCHER L’ORTHÈSE.
5. Remettez la doublure postérieure (du dos) en la pliant à moitié dans le sens vertical
et en la positionnant au centre de la coque postérieure. Dépliez-la et assurez-
vous de bien l’appliquer sur la coque. La partie la plus large de la doublure doit se
trouver vers le bas de l’orthèse et doit dépasser uniformément la coque de 3/8`’
(10mm).
6. Remettez les doublures de devant et du menton selon la méthode expliquée ci-
dessus.

Conseils d’installation destinés à l’orthésiste
1. Installez l’orthèse sur le cou de votre patient en vériant que le maxillaire se trouve
bien dans l’appui mentonnier et que la partie distale soit en contact avec la cage
thoracique. Si votre patient est couché, posez la partie postérieure en premier.
Utilisez l’outil noir qui est inclus pour desserrer cette section.
2. Les parties distales de l’orthèse peuvent être évasées pour éviter des points de
pression.
3. Une baleine en aluminium est incorporée dans la composante occipitale pour
vous permettre de modier sa forme et de la personnaliser pour qu’elle épouse la
lordose cervicale de votre patient.
4. Centrez la partie occipitale en tirant uniformément sur les courroies en Velcro
et en les positionnant sur la partie antérieure. Il est préférable que les deux
extrémités de la coque postérieure puissent se trouver sous la partie antérieure.

du non-respect de ce document, causés par des accidents, par de la négligence, par
une utilisation non conforme, par une modication non autorisée, par un bris suite à
une mauvaise installation, par des remplacements de pièces non autorisées par Otto
Bock ou par toute autre modication ou réparation eectuée qui selon l’avis d’Otto
Bock, aecteraient matériellement et négativement l’ecacité de l’article. La durée de
cette garantie limitée varie selon les produits et prend eet le jour où l’utilisateur prend
livraison de l’article.
