1.1 Informationen zur Einbau- und Betriebsanlei-
tung
Diese Einbau- und Betriebsanleitung dient dem
geschulten Fachpersonal dazu, das Ventil fachgerecht
zu installieren und in Betrieb zu nehmen.
Mitgeltende Unterlagen – Anleitungen aller Anlagen-
komponenten sowie geltende technische Regeln –
sind einzuhalten.
1.2 Aufbewahrung der Unterlagen
Diese Einbau- und Betriebsanleitung ist vom Anlagen-
betreiber zum späteren Gebrauch aufzubewahren.

Die Einbau- und Betriebsanleitung ist urheberrecht-
lich geschützt.

Hinweise zur Sicherheit sind durch Symbole gekenn-

2 Sicherheitshinweise
2.1 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Die Betriebssicherheit ist nur bei bestimmungsgemä-
ßer Verwendung des Ventils gewährleistet.
Das elektronisch gesteuerte Zirkulationsventil „Aqua-
strom DT“ dient zum hydraulischen Abgleich und der
temperaturgeführten Regulierung der Volumenströme
in Zirkulationsleitungen.
Jede darüber hinausgehende und/oder andersartige
Verwendung des Ventils ist untersagt und gilt als nicht
bestimmungsgemäß. Ansprüche jeglicher Art gegen
den Hersteller und/oder seine Bevollmächtigten we-
gen Schäden aus nicht bestimmungsgemäßer Ver-
wendung können nicht anerkannt werden.
2.2 Gefahren, die vom Einsatzort und Transport
ausgehen können
Der Fall eines externen Brandes wurde bei der Ausle-
gung des Ventils nicht berücksichtigt.
Heiße oder kalte Oberflächen!
Verletzungsgefahr! Nur mit geeigneten
Schutzhandschuhen anfassen. Bei Betrieb
kann das Ventil die Medientemperatur
annehmen.

3 Transport, Lagerung und
Verpackung
3.1 Transportinspektion
Lieferung unmittelbar nach Erhalt sowie vor Einbau
auf mögliche Transportschäden und Vollständigkeit
untersuchen.
Falls derartige oder andere Mängel feststellbar sind,
Warensendung nur unter Vorbehalt annehmen. Rekla-
mation einleiten. Dabei Reklamationsfristen beachten.
3.2 Lagerung
Das Ventil nur unter folgenden Bedingungen lagern:
– Nicht im Freien, trocken und staubfrei aufbewahren.
– Keinen aggressiven Medien oder Hitzequellen aus-
setzen.
– Vor Sonneneinstrahlung und übermäßiger mechani-
scher Erschütterung schützen.
– Lagertemperatur: 0 °C bis 50 °C,
– Relative Luftfeuchtigkeit: max. 95 %
3.3 Verpackung
Sämtliches Verpackungsmaterial ist umweltgerecht zu
entsorgen.
3.4 Lieferumfang
Folgende Teile gehören zum Lieferumfang des „Aquast-
rom DT“:
– Rotguss-Ventil mit Temperaturfühler und Entlee-
rungshahn
– Isolierschalen (gleichzeitig Transportschutzverpa-
ckung)
– Stellantrieb in Einzelkarton
– Feldmodul in Einzelkarton
– Einbau- und Bedienungsanleitung
Kontrollieren Sie die Armatur auf Vollständigkeit und
Transportschäden!

4 Aufbau und Funktion
4.1 Übersicht und Funktionsbeschreibung
Das Oventrop „Aquastrom DT“ Zirkulationsventil wird
in die Rücklaufleitungen von Zirkulationsanlagen einge-
baut. Es dient dem genauen hydraulischen Abgleich der
Zirkulationsstränge untereinander und verhindert bei
korrekter Anlagenberechnung nach W553 eine Ausküh-
lung der einzelnen Zirkulationsstränge.
Zur Strangentleerung ist die Armatur zusätzlich mit ei-
nem Entleerungsventil ausgestattet.

Die Rücklaufleitungen einer Zirkulationsanlage sind
nach den geltenden Berechnungsverfahren zu dimen-
sionieren! (siehe hierzu auch DVGW Arbeitsblatt W553).
Die Berechnung einer Zirkulationsanlage muss doku-
mentiert sein, um später einfließende Änderungen bzw.
Erweiterungen der Anlage durchführen zu können
(siehe auch W551).
Zur Berechnung einer Trinkwasser-Zirkulationsanlage
eignet sich das Programm OV-Plan, das sich auf der
Oventrop DVD befindet (kostenlos erhältlich).
Falsch dimensionierte oder falsch einge-
stellte Zirkulationsventile gewährleisten kei-
nen hydraulischen Abgleich der Zirkulati-
onsstränge. Dadurch kann eine Auskühlung
der Rücklaufleitungen unter die in W551 ge-
forderte Temperatur erfolgen. Damit besteht
Gefahr der Verkeimung und Legionellenbe-
fall in der Anlage!

6.3 Absperren/ Öffnen der Armatur
Die Isolierung der Armatur ist zu entfernen! An der
Sechskantspindel (SW 14) im Uhrzeigersinn per Hand
oder mit Hilfe eines Schraubenschlüssels handfest
drehen. Dabei ist eine Überdrehung der Kabelverbin-
dung zu vermeiden!
– Bei der Montage dürfen keine Fette oder
Öle verwendet werden, da diese die Dich-
tungen zerstören können. Schmutzpar-
tikel sowie Fett- und Ölreste sind ggf.
aus den Zuleitungen herauszuspülen.
– Gegen äußere Gewalt (z. B. Schlag, Stoß,
Vibration) schützen.

6 Einbau / Montage
Zirkulationsventil
6.1 Montageort und Lage
Das Ventil darf nur in eine saubere Rohrleitung einge-
setzt werden. Die Anlage darf nur mit einer sauberen,
nicht verschmutzten Flüssigkeit betrieben werden. Die
Einbaulage ist beliebig (waagerecht, schräg oder senk-
recht, in steigende oder fallende Abschnitte). Es ist je-
doch darauf zu achten, dass das Ventil immer in Pfeil-
richtung durchströmt wird. Das Ventil sollte gut
zugänglich montiert werden. Bitte beachten Sie die je-
weiligen landesspezifi schen Vorschriften.
Achten Sie bei der Montage auf den für die Isolier-
schalen notwendigen Einbauraum!
Während der Bauphase den Stellantrieb, das Feld-
modul und die Isolierung separat aufbewahren, um
Beschädigungen und Vermutzungen zu vermeiden.
6.2 Rohranschluss
Die Armatur ist mit Außengewinden nach ISO 228 so-
wie Innengewinden nach EN 10226-1 ausgestattet.

Durch Drehen gegen Uhrzeigersinn öffnet sich die Ar-
matur. Die Armatur ist bis zum Anschlag zu öffnen um
die Funktion zu gewährleisten.

8 Einbau / Montage
Stellantrieb/Feldmodul
Stellantrieb auf Ventil montieren. Stellantrieb, Tempera-
turfühler, 24V Spannungsversorgung und C-Busleitung
entsprechend unten stehendem Schaltschema im Feld-
modul: „FM-CW K“ verkabeln.
Arbeiten an dem Gerät dürfen nur im spannungslosen
Zustand vorgenommen werden. Das Anschließen des
Gerätes an die Busleitung und die Spannungsversor-
gung darf nur eine Elektrofachkraft durchführen. Das
Feldmodul „FM-CW K“ benötigen eine eigene Span-
nungsversorgung mit 24V Wechselspannung.
Montageort so wählen, dass ungewollte Fremdwärme-
einfl üsse, z.B. die direkte Montage auf heißen Rohrlei-
tungen, verhindert werden.
Das Gehäuse nur in die vorgesehene Isolierung des elek-
tronischen Zirkulationsregulierventils OV Art.: 1150004,
06, 08 sowie 1150104, 06,08 verbauen. Nicht durch die
Rückwand des Gehäuses bohren.
Das Gerät darf nicht in explosionsgefähr-
deten Bereichen installiert werden.
Eine Montage auf brennbarem Untergrund
ist nicht zulässig!

1 General information

These installation and operating instructions serve the
installer to install the valve professionally and to put it
into operation.
Other valid documents – manuals of all system
components as well as valid technical rules – must be
observed.

be kept by the user of the system.

Safety guidelines are displayed by symbols. These
guidelines are to be observed to avoid accidents,

2 Safety notes
2.1 Correct use
Safety in operation is only guaranteed if the valve is
used correctly.
The electronic circulation regulating valve is used for
hydronic balancing and temperature guided regulation
of the volume flows in circulation pipes.
Any use of the circulation regulating valve outside the
above applications will be considered as non-compliant
and misuse. Claims of any kind against the manufacturer
and/or his authorised representatives due to damages
caused by incorrect use cannot be accepted.
The observance of the installation and operating
instructions is part of the compliance terms.
2.2 Possible dangers at the installation location
and during transport
The case of an external fire has not been taken into
consideration when constructing the valve.

3 Transport, storage and
packaging
3.1 Transport inspection
Upon receipt check delivery for any damages caused
during transit and completeness.
Any damage must be reported immediately upon
receipt.
3.2 Storage
The valve must only be stored under the following
conditions:
– Do not store in open air, keep dry and free from dust.
– Do not expose to aggressive fluids or heat sources.
– Protect from direct sunlight and mechanical agitation.
– Storage temperature: 0 °C up to 50 °C
– Max. relative humidity of air: 95 %
3.3 Packaging
Packaging material is to be disposed of in an
environmentally friendly manner.
3.4 Extent of supply

4 Construction and function
4.1 Summary and functional description
The Oventrop circulation regulating valve “Aquastrom
DT” is installed in the return pipes of circulation systems.
It serves to achieve an exact hydronic balance between
the circulation risers and a cooling-down of the individual
risers will be avoided if the system calculation according
to W553 is carried out correctly.
The valve is additionally equipped with a valve for draining
of the risers.

The return pipes of a circulation system have to be
sized according to the valid calculation procedures!
(see also DVGW work sheet W553) The calculation of
a circulation system is to be documented in order to
carry out any subsequent modifications or extensions
of the system (see also W551).
Calculation of a potable water circulation system can
be carried out with the help of the Oventrop software
OVplan which is available on the free Oventrop DVD.
Circulation valves which are sized or set
wrongly, do not ensure a hydronic balancing
of the circulation risers. As a result, the return
pipes might cool down below the temperature
required according to W551 and this in turn
presents a risk of germs or legionella
development within the system!

6.3 Isolation/ opening of the valve
Remove valve insulation! Close the valve by turning
the hexagon stem (size 14) clockwise by hand or with
the help of a spanner. Over-tightening of the cable
connection must be avoided!
– Do not use any greasing agents or oil for
the installation, as these can destroy the
valve seals. Any dirt particles or grease
or oil residues must be flushed out
before the valve is installed.
– Please protect against external forces
(e.g. impacts, vibrations etc.).

6 Installation circulation

6.1 Installation location and position
The valve must only be installed into a clean pipework
system and must only be operated with a clean unpolluted
fl uid. The valve can be installed in any position (horizontal,
oblique or vertical, in ascending or descending sections).
The direction of fl ow has to conform to the direction of
the arrow on the valve body. The valve should be easily
accessible. The national standards must be observed.
When installing the valve, please ensure that there
is enough space for the insulation shells!
The actuator, fi eld module and insulation should be
stored separately during construction to avoid
damage and contamination.
6.2 Pipe connection
The valve features male threads according to ISO 228
or female threads according to EN 10226-1.

The valve is opened by turning the hexagon stem
anticlockwise. The valve has to be opened until stop
to guarantee functioning.

8 Installation actuator/fi eld
module
Mount actuator onto the valve. Wire actuator,
temperature sensor, power supply 24V and C-bus line
inside the fi eld module “FM-CW K” according to the
below wiring diagram.
Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before
starting work. Connection of the appliance to the bus
line and power supply must only be carried out by a
qualified electrician. The field module “FM-CW K”
requires an own power supply with an alternating
voltage of 24 V.
The installation location has to be selected so that the
components are not affected by other heat sources,
such as hot pipework.
The casing must only be mounted into the designated
insulation of the electronic circulation regulating valve,
OV item no.: 1150004, 06 and 1150104, 06, 08. Do not
drill through the rear wall of the casing.
The appliance must not be installed in a
hazardous location.
Installation on a flammable base is not
permitted!
