Purpose of This Manual
This manual provides step-by-step installation instructions, and information required for
ongoing use and maintenance of the LoaderXpress tape drive system. This manual is
written for the installer and user of this equipment.
Organization
The following information is contained in this manual.
Chapter 1: “Introduction” - Provides an introduction to the Overland Storage
Loader, along with a brief description of the benefits, features,tape
capacities and drives.
Chapter 2: “Installation” - Presents step-by-step procedures for unpacking and

Benefits
TheLoaderXpress is a compact, easy-to-use tape loader, which includes many features
ideally suited to applications requiring automated backup. It offers a password
secured, front-removable cartridge magazine that makes media swapping a breeze,
and an easy-to-use user display that is easy to learn. You have a choice of different
drive technologies which enable you to choose the technology best suited to your IT
environment.
The LoaderXpress offers the following benefits:
•Standard SCSI interface
•Compact design, fits easily on a tabletop or in a rack mounted enclosure
•Rugged and reliable robotics design for worry-free operation
•Easy to operate, including loading cartridges and removing the magazine

Fan Single forced air. Provides optimum cooling for critical parts and
prevents drive, robotics, motors and power supply from
overheating.
Flash Connector 9 -pin connector used to flash the library controller card with
that latest firmware updates, along with servicing and
diagnostic purposes.
Power Connector Single IEC-compatible socket connects to any properly
grounded outlet. Auto-ranging power supply adjusts
automatically to operating voltages of 100 to 240VAC.
Operates at 50 or 60 Hz without requiring modification.
