Start-up
PREPARATION
•Connecttheradiotransmitter.
•Screwtheplugfromthepower supplypacktotheMiniTest300;connect mains
voltage.
•Removetheblank flangefromthevacuum connection oftheunit.
•Check vacuumconnectionflangetoensureitisclean.
•Connecttheunit totheplantvacuum system.
SWITCHING ONTHEUNIT
•Press thePowerbuttonontheremotecontrol.
•Afterafewseconds theremotecontrolestablishesthewireless connection tothe
MiniTest300.
•Thesystemmust beevacuatedinordertofind leaks.
•Opentheshut-offvalveupstreamofthevacuumconnectionontheMiniTest 300.
•Vacuum:Wait forvacuum
•Warm-up phase:Wait forheating
•Theunitisready for operation: READY TOSTART
Note:
•Wait forcompletionof thewarm-upphase(ca.30-60 min)beforecalibratingor
measuring.

•Thesearch modecanbeusedtoconductafastqualitativelocalization.
•Theverticalwhitelinerepresentsthelower displaylimit.
•Thecoloredpoint(greenintheillustration) showsthecurrentlyactivemeasuring
range.
•Themagnifying glassestotheleftandrightof thebarcanbeusedtomovethe
displaylimit.
•Ifthemeasuringsignalbecomeslarger,thecoloredpointmovestotheright.
Ifthemeasuredsignalbecomessmaller, thecoloredpoint movestotheleft, asfaras
themaximum zoomlimit.
Note: Thezoom areas totheleftofthecoloredpointareblockedandaresymbolized
by crossedoutpoints.
Measuringprocedure in Searchmode:
Comparison withreference leak:
1.Spraypintestleak (capillaryleak)withhelium.
2.Observetheheliumsignal untilamaximumisperceptible.
3.Tap thebarbetweenthemagnifying glassestoreset thedisplay limit basedonthe
current measuredvalues.

Localizingleaks:
1.Themeasurementisconductedwithinthepreviouslydetermineddisplaylimit.
2.Spraythesystem withhelium asusual.
3.All leakageratesignalsthatarethesamesize orlargerwill be displayed
immediately.
4.Iftheleakageratesignalcurveisyellow,theleak is3times larger thanthereference
leak.
5.Aredsignalcurvemeansthatthedetectedleakisatleast10times largerthan the
referenceleak.
Leakageratemeasurement
MEASURINGLEAKAGERATE
•Shutoff ordisconnect thetestleak.
•Press “Start/Stop”ontheremotecontrol.
•Spraythesystem withheliumfromoutside.
•Observethereadingonthedisplay.
(IncasetheMiniTest300isnotcalibrated,thedisplaycorrespondstothe
measuredheliumpartial pressureinhPa)
•Press theZerokeytosubtractthecurrenthelium backgroundandsetthevalueto
zero.
•Theyellow hatchedbar indicatestherangetowhichaquantitativemeasurementis
possible.
•Ifonlytheyellow triangleisvisible,quantitativeleakageratemeasurementisalso
possibleinthelowestrange.
Calibration CALIBRATING THEUNIT
•Install pintestleak (capillaryleak)onthesystem.
•Entertheleakagerateof thetestleak on theremotecontrol.
•Prompt:“PressOKonoffset stable”
(Whentheoffsetsignalisstable,press“OK”)
•Prompt:“Sprayas usual, thenpressOKonsignal max”
•Spraytestleakwithhelium,exactlyinthesamemanner asforthetestleaklater.
•Theoldandnewcalibrationfactorsaredisplayed. Press “OK”toapplythenew
calibrationfactoror“X”torejectit.
•TheMiniTest300isnowcalibratedtothesystem.
Purge
HELIUM CONTAMINATION
•TheMiniTest300isequippedwithaprotection modeagainst contaminationwith
largeamountsof helium.Thiscontaminationmodespeeds upcleaning oftheunit
afterithasmeasuredlargeleaks.
•Automaticpurgeisdisabledbydefault. Incaseofheliumcontamination,purgingcan
beenabledviathemenu.
•The“Contamination”displayremainsuntil thequantityofheliuminthesystemis
reducedso farthat measurementscanbeconductedagain.
•Leak detectioncanberestartedbypressing“Clear”.If theMiniTest300isstill
contaminatedwithhelium, themessage“Contamination”willappear again.
