5. Battery compartment
Replacing the batteries
A) Move the M-T-O switch to the "0" (Off) position.
B) Open the battery compartment.
C) Insert a type 13 battery so that the + sign on the battery (flat side) corresponds to
the + mark in the battery compartment.
D) Push the battery compartment gently back into position.
Impcrtant: Handle the battery compartment gently, do not use force. If there is any
resistance, ensure
that the battery is correctly inserted in the battery compartment. The
door will not close properly if the battery is upside-down.
M-T-O switch (4)
Main switch with three positions:
•
"0": The PicoForte3 is s witched off.
• 'T': The tele-coil is activated.
• "M" : The microphone is s witched on.
Volume control (3)
To increase volume, turn the control upward; to decrease volume , turn the control
downward.
Switch position "T" (M- T -0 switch)
'T' stands for tele-coil.
This function allows you to use a hearing instrument compatible telephone receiver, or
to take advantage of a special loop conductor system which is frequently installed in
schools, churches,
theatres etc. For further information please consult your hearingcare

To protect children from the dangers of playing with batteries, your
hearing instruments
can be fit with child safety de v ices. Ask your
hearingcare professional for details.
Important points
1. Always use new batteries as replacements. Your hearingcare professional will dispose
of the old ones for you.
2. If you will not be using the hearing instruments for a long period of time, be sure to
remove the batteries.
3. When instruments are not in use, store them safely in the case.
6. Hair spray, creams and make-up can damage hearing instruments. Remo ve
instruments before applying cosmetics.
7. If your PicoForte3s fail to operate after you have correctly inserted new batteries,
contact your hearingcare professional for advice.

pets can reach them. If batteries are swallowed, promptly seek medical attention.

Service and Warranty
Phonak offers you a comprehensive global warranty which becomes effective on the
date of purchase. Please ask your hearing healthcare professional about the details and
duration. This warranty covers any repairs due to defects in material and/or workman-
ship. The warranty does not cover damage from improper handling or ca re , exposure to
chemicals, immersion in water or undue stress. Damage caused by third parties or non-
authorized service centers renders the Phonak warranty null and void. This warranty
does not include any services performed by a hearing professional in their office. This

Auswechseln der Batterie
A) Stellen Sie Ihr Horgerat am M-T-O-Schalter auf «0» (Aus-Position).
B) Offnen Sie die Batteries c hublade mit einer Fingerspit ze.
C) Fugen Sie eine Batterie (Typ 13) so ein, da ss das «+»-Zeichen der Batterie (flache
Seite) mit dem Hll-Aufdruck auf der Batterie sc hublade ubereinstimmt.
D) Schliel3en Sie die Batterieschublade.
