
Preface
This phyBOARD-WEGA-AM335x Board Hardware Manua describes the System on Modu e's design
and functions. Precise specifications for the TI AM335x processor can be found in the processor datasheet
and/or user’s manua .
In this hardware manua and in the schematics, active ow signa s are denoted by a "/" preceding the signa
name, for examp e: /RD. A "0" represents ogic-zero or ow- eve signa , whi e a "1" represents a ogic one
or high- eve signa .
Declaration of Electro Magnetic Conformity of the phyBOARD-WEGA-AM335x
PHYTEC System on Modu es (SOMs) are designed for insta ation in e ectrica app iances or, combined
with the PHYTEC Carrier Board, can be used as dedicated Eva uation Boards (for use as a test and
prototype p atform for hardware/software deve opment) in aboratory environments.
CAUTION:
PHYTEC products acking protective enc osures are subject to damage by ESD and,
hence, may on y be unpacked, hand ed or operated in environments in which
sufficient precautionary measures have been taken in respect to ESD-dangers. It is
a so necessary that on y appropriate y trained personne (such as e ectricians,
technicians and engineers) hand e and/or operate these products. Moreover, PHYTEC
products shou d not be operated without protection circuitry if connections to the
product's pin header rows are onger than 3 mm.
PHYTEC products fu fi the norms of the European Union's Directive for E ectro Magnetic Conformity
on y in accordance to the descriptions and ru es of usage indicated in this hardware manua (particu ar y in
respect to the pin header row connectors, power connector and seria interface to a host-PC).
Imp ementation of PHYTEC products into target devices, as we as user
modifications and extensions of PHYTEC products, is subject to renewed
estab ishment of conformity to, and certification of, E ectro Magnetic Directives.
Users shou d ensure conformance fo owing any modifications to the products as we
as imp ementation of the products into target systems.
The phyBOARD-WEGA-AM335x Board is one of a series of PHYTEC System on Modu es that can be
popu ated with different contro ers and, hence, offers various functions and configurations. PHYTEC
supports a variety of 8/16 and 32-bit contro ers in two ways:
1. As the basis for Rapid Deve opment Kits which serve as a reference and Eva uation p atform.
2. As insert-ready, fu y functiona phyCORE OEM modu es, which can be
