Chapter 1 Overview
1.1 F un c t i on s
Note: The functions may vary depending on the models of PTZ .
L i m i t S t op s
The dome can be programmed to move within the limit stops (left/right, up / do w n) .
Scan M od e s
The dome provides 5 scan modes: auto scan, tilt scan, frame scan, random scan and panorama
s c an .
P r e set s
A preset is a predefined image position. When the preset is called, the dome will automatically
move to the defined position. The presets can be added, mod ifi ed, deleted and c all ed .
L ab e l Di sp la y
The on-screen label of the preset title, azimuth/elevation, zoom, time and dome name can be
displayed on the monitor. The displays of time and PTZ name can be programmed .
Auto Fl ip
In manual tracking mode, when a target object goes directly beneath the dome, the video will
automatically flips 180 degrees in horizontal direction to maint ai n continuity of tracking. This
function can also be realized by auto mirror i mage depending on different camera models .
3D P os i t ionin g
In the client software, use the left key of mouse to click on the desired position in the video image
and drag a rectangle area in the lower right direction, then the dome system will move the position
to the center and allow the rectangle area to zoom i n . Use the left key of mouse to drag a rectangle
area in the upper left direction to mo v e the position to the center and allow the rectangle area to
zoom out .
Proportional P an / T il t
Proportional pan/tilt automatically reduces or increases the pan and tilt speeds according to the
amount of zoom. At telephoto zoom settings, the pan and t il t speeds will be slower than at wide
zoom settings. This keeps the image from mo vi ng too fast on the live view image when there is a
large amount of zoom.
Auto F oc u s
The auto focus enables the camera to focus automatically to maintain clear vi deo i mages .
Da y / Ni g h t Auto S w i t ch
The PTZs deliver color images during the day. And as light diminishes at n i ght, the PTZs switch to
night mode and deliver black and white images with h i gh qu ali t y.
S l ow S hu tt e r
In slow shutter mode, the shutter speed will automatically slowdown in l o w illumination conditions
to maintain clear video images by extending the e x posure time. The feature can be enabled or
d i sab l ed .

Backlight Compensation ( BLC )
If you focus on an object against strong backlight, the object will be too dark to be seen clearly.
The BLC (Backlight Compensation) function can compensate light to the object in the front to make
it clear, but this causes the over-exposure of the background where the light is strong .
(Digital) Wide Dynamic Range ( W D R )
The wide dynamic range (WDR) function helps the camera provide clear images even under back
light circumstances. When there are both very bright and very dark areas simultaneously in the
field of view, Digital WDR balances the brightness level of the w ho l e image and provide clear
images with det ail s .
White Balance ( W B)
White balance can remove the unrealistic color casts. White balance is the w h i te rendition function
of the camera to adjust the color temperature according to the environment automat i c ally.
P a t r ol
A patrol is a memorized series of pre-defined preset function. The scanning speed between two
presets and the dwell time at the preset are programmable.
P a tt e r n
A pattern is a memorized series of pan, tilt, zoom, and preset functions. By defau l t the focus and
iris are in auto status during the pattern is being memor i zed .
Power Off M e m or y
The dome supports the power off memory capability with the predefined resume time. It allows
the dome to resume its previous position after power is restored .
Park A ct ion
This feature allows the dome to start a predefined action automatically after a per i od of i nact ivi t y.
User M ana g e m e n t
The dome allows you to edit users with different levels of permission, in the adm i n login status.
Multiple users are allowed to access and control the same net w or k PTZ via network
s i mu l taneous ly.
3D Digital Noise R e du ct ion (DNR)
Comparing with the general 2D digital noise reduction, the 3D digital noise redu c t i on function
processes the noise between two frames besides processing the noise i n one frame. The noise
will be much less and the video will be c l earer .

Chapter 2 Network Con nec t i on
Before you s t a r t :
If you want to set the IP PTZ via a LAN (Local Area Net w or k ), please refer to Section 2.1 S e tt i ng
the IP PTZ Camera over the L A N .
If you want to set the network PTZ via a WAN (Wide Area Net w or k ), please refer to Section 2.2
S e tt i ng the IP PTZ Camera over the W A N .
2.1 S e t ti n g the IP PTZ Camera over the L A N
P u r po s e :
To view and configure the PTZ via a LAN, you need to connect the net w or k PTZ in the same subnet
with your computer, and install the Provided IP Tool to search and change the IP of the network
PTZ .
2.1.1 Wiring over the L A N
The following figures show the two ways of cable connection of a network PTZ and a c omputer:
P u r po s e :
To test the network PTZ, you can directly connect the network PTZ to the computer with a
network cable as shown in Figure 2-1.
Refer to the Figure 2-2 to set the network PTZ over the LAN via a s wi t c h or a router .
2.1.2 Detecting and Changing the IP A ddr e ss
You need the IP address to visit the network PTZ .
S t e p s :
1. To get the IP address, you can choose either of the following methods:
Use IP Tool, a software tool which can automatically detect the on li ne network PTZs in
the LAN and list the device information including I P address, subnet mask, port number, device
serial number, device v ers i on, etc., shown in Figure 2-3.
Use the client software to list the online devices. Please refer to the user manual of client
software for detailed i n f ormat i on .
2. Change the IP address and subnet mask to the same subnet as that of y our c omputer .
3. Enter the IP address of network PTZ in the address field of the w eb browser to view the
live vi deo .

N o t e s :
Out of the box, the camera will work on DHCP and get an IP address automatically from the DHCP
server. In case a “Restore to factory default” was done, the default IP address will change to
192.168.0.99. The default user name is admin and password is admin.
For accessing the network PTZ from different subnets, please set the gateway for the network
PTZ after you logged in. For det ail ed information, please refer to Section 6.3.1 Configuring T CP / I P
S e tt i ng s .
2.2 S e t ti n g the IP PTZ Camera over the W A N
P u r po s e :
This section explains how to connect the network PTZ to the WAN with a static IP or a dynamic
I P .
2.2.1 Static IP C onn e c ti on
Before you s t a r t :
Please apply a static IP from an ISP (Internet Service Provider). With the static I P address, you can
connect the network PTZ via a router or connect it to the WAN d i rect ly.
Connecting the network PTZ via a router
S t e p s :
1. Connect the network PTZ to the router .
2. Assign a LAN IP address, the subnet mask and the gateway. Refer to Section 2.1.2
Detecting and Changing the IP Address for detailed IP address configuration o f the PTZ .
3. Save the static IP in the router .
4. Set port mapping, E.g., 80, 8000 and 554 ports. The steps for port mapping v ar y depending on
different routers. Please call the router manufacturer for ass i stan c e with port mapp i ng .
Note: Refer to Appendix 2 for detailed information about port mapp i ng .
5. Visit the network PTZ through a web browser or the client software o v er the i nternet .
Connecting the network PTZ with static IP di r e ct l y
You can also save the static IP in the PTZ and directly connect it to the internet without using
a router. Refer to Section 2.1.2 Detecting and Changing the I P Address for detailed IP address configuration
of the PTZ .
2.2.2 Dynamic IP C onn e c ti on
Before you s t a r t :
Please apply a dynamic IP from an ISP. With the dynamic IP address, you can c onnect the network
PTZ to a modem or a router .

Connecting the network PTZ via a router
S t e p s :
1. Connect the network PTZ to the router .
2. In the PTZ, assign a LAN IP address, the subnet mask and the gatewa y. Refer to Section
2.1.2 Detecting and Changing the IP Address for detailed LAN c on fi gurat i on .
3. In the router, set the PPPoE user name, password and confirm the pass w ord .
4. Set port mapping. E.g. 80, 8000 and 554 ports. The steps for port mapping v ar y depending
on different routers. Please call the router manufacturer for ass i stan c e with port mapp i ng .
Note: Refer to Appendix 2 for detailed information about port mapp i ng .
5. Apply a domain name from a domain name pro vi der .
6. Configure the DDNS settings in the setting interface of the router .
7. Visit the PTZ via the applied domain name.
Connecting the network PTZ via a m od e m
P u r po s e :
This PTZ supports the PPPoE auto dial-up function. The PTZ gets a public IP address by ADSL dial-
up after the PTZ is connected to a modem . You need to configure the PPPoE parameters of the
network PTZ. Refer to Section 6.3.3 Configuring PPPoE S e tt i ng s for detailed c on fi gurat i on .
Note: The obtained IP address is dynamically assigned via PPPoE, so the IP address always changes
after rebooting the PTZ. To solve the inconvenience of the dynamic IP, you need to get a domain
name from the DDNS provider ( E . g . DynDns.com). Please follow below steps for normal domain
name resolution and private domain name resolution to solve the prob l em .
Normal Domain Name Reso l ut i on
S t e p s :
1. Apply a domain name from a domain name pro vi der .
2. Configure the DDNS settings in the DDNS S e tt in g s interface of the network PTZ. Refer to Section
6.3.4 Configuring DD N S S e tt i ng s for det ail ed c on fi gurat i on .
3. Visit the PTZ via the applied domain name.
Private Domain Name R eso l ut i on
S t e p s :
1. Install and run the IP Server software in a computer with a static I P .
2. Access the network PTZ through the LAN with a web browser or the client so f t w are.
3. Enable DDNS and select IP Server as the protocol type. Refer to Section 6.3.4

Chapter 3 Access to the IP PTZ Camera
3.1 Accessing by Web- Br owse r s
S t e p s :
1. Open the web bro w ser .
2. In the address field input the IP address of the network PTZ, e.g., 192.168.0.99 and press the
Enter key to enter the login i nter f ace .
3. Select English as the interface language on the top-right of login i nter f a c e.
4. Input the user name and password and click .
Note: The default user name is admin, password is admin.

5. Before being able to view the camera you will need to install the camera’s plug in. Please follow
the installation prompts to install the p l ug-in .
Note: You may have to close the web browser for the installation to take place. Please reopen
the web browser and log in again after installing the p l ug- i n .
3.2 Accessing by IP Tool
The product CD contains the IP Tool. You can view the live video and manage the PTZ with
the client so f t w are .
Follow the installation prompts to install the IP Tool. The configuration interface and live
view interface of client software are shown bel l o w.

Chapter 4 Live View
4.1 Power-up A c ti on
After the power is applied, the PTZ will perform self-test actions. It beg i ns with lens actions and
then pan and tilt movement. After the power-up sel f -test actions, the information as shown in
Figure 4-1 will be displayed on screen for 40 seconds .
The System Information displayed on the screen includes the dome model, address, protocol,
version and other information. The COMMUNICATION refers to the baud rate, parity, data bit
and stop bit of the dome. e.g., 2400, N, 8, 1 indicates the dome is configured with the baud rate
of 2400, no parity, 8 data bits and 1 stop b i t .

4.2 Live View P ag e

1. Click on the tool bar of live view interface.
2. Operate the 3D positioning function: Left click a position of the live video. The
corresponding position will be moved to the center of the live vi deo .
3. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse to the lower right on the live video. The
corresponding position will be moved to the center of the liv e video and zoomed i n .
4. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse to the upper left on the live video. The
corresponding position will be moved to the center of the liv e video and zoomed out .
4.4 Recording and Capturing Pictures Manually
In the live view interface, click on the toolbar to capture the live pictures or click to
record the live video. The local saving paths of the captured p i c tures and clips can be set in the
Configuration > Local Configuration i nter f ace .
To configure remote automatic recording, please refer to Section 7.2 Co n f i gu r i ng Recording S c h e du le .
Note: The captured image will be saved as a JPEG file in your c omputer .

4.5 Operating PTZ C on tr o l

In the live view interface, you can use the PTZ control buttons to control pann i ng, tilting and
zoom i ng .
4.5.1 PTZ Control P anel
On the live view page, click to show the PTZ control panel or click to hide it.
Click the direction buttons to control the pan/tilt mo v ements . Click the
zoom/iris/focus buttons to realize lens c ontro l.

Note: The following presets are predefined with special commands. You can only c all them but not
configure them. For instance, preset 95 is the “Open OSD Menu”.
You may need to use the OSD (On Screen Display) menu when controlling the PTZ remotely. To
display the OSD menu on the live view screen, you can c all the preset number 95. Note that the
OSD menu doesn’t appear on the Analog CVBS output.

P u r po s e :
A patrol is a memorized series of preset function. It can be configured and called on the patrol
settings interface. There are up to 8 patrols for customizing. A patrol c an be configured with 32
presets.
Before you s t a r t :
Please make sure that the presets you want to add into a patrol have been defined.

4.6 Configuring Live View P ar ame t er s
Main s t r e a m / S ub - s t r e a m / T hi r d s t r e a m :
You can select or as the stream type of live viewing. The main stream
is wi th a relatively high resolution and needs much bandwidth. The sub-stream is with a low
resolution and needs less bandwidth. The default setting of stream type is .
Note: Please refer to Section 6.4.1 Configuring V ideo S e tt i ng s for more det ail ed parameter settings
of the main stream, sub-stream and third stream respect iv el y.
Image S i z e :
You can scale up/down the live view image by clicking . The image size
can be 4:3, 16:9, original or auto .

5.1 Configuring Power Off Memory

This feature allows the dome to resume whichever actions that the PTZ was performing after a power
off has occurred.

This feature allows the dome to start a predefined park action (scan, preset, patrol) automatically
after a period of inactivity (park t i me) .
Note: Scheduled Tasks function is prior to Park Action function. When these t w o functions are set at
the same time, only the Scheduled Tasks function takes effect .
