Prior to installing your new J-Rac
Kayak Carrier, be sure your
crossbars are clean and free of
debris. Clean crossbars will help to
ensure a proper fit and will help to
keep the rack from slipping.

Unscrew and remove both Clamp Knobs
(G) from the bottom of the J-Rac to loosen
the clamp bracket (F).

Remove the clamp bracket (F) from
the bottom of the J-Rac.

Set the J-Rac on the top of your front
crossbar and hold it in place.

Push the clamp bracket (F) against
the bottom of your crossbar,
underneath the J-Rac, and feed the
carriage bolts (H) down through the
holes of the clamp bracket.

Screw the clamp knobs (G) back
onto the carriage bolts (H) until snug,
but do not tighten down.

Repeat steps 2 - 6 for securing the
second J-Rac to the rear crossbar.
Ensure that your crossbars are a
minimum 24” apart from each other
(the further apart, the more stable
your watercraft will be).

Align the J-Racs, making sure the
placement is the same on the front
and rear crossbars.

Once alligned (Step 8),
SECURE BOTH J-RACs COMPLETELY
by tightening the clamp knobs.
Feed the Cam Buckle Strap (C)
through the Cam Buckle Cover (B),
leaving the cam buckle exposed at
the end.
Loop the Cam Buckle Strap (C)
through the top of the J-Rac on the
front crossbar and knot.

Your ROLA J-Rac is equipped with
foam pads to protect your vessel from
scratches during transport. For increased
protection—especially for hulls with high-
lacquer finishes—use a soft cloth for
added protection.

Load the watercraft and hang both ends of
the strap up and over the kayak as shown.
Slide the Cam Buckle Cover over the
Cam Buckle to protect watercraft
during transport.
Repeat steps 11-15 for securing the
watercraft to the J-Rac on the rear
crossbar.

Slip the end of the strap (C)
under the front crossbar
then insert into the cam buckle.
Pull downward to tighten
completely until watercraft is
secure.

Feed one end of Rope (D) through
the hole in Hook (E) and knot.

Hook the rope to a metal surface on
bumper, tow loop, or frame hole
using Hook (E).
Feed other end of Rope (D) through
the grab handle or rescue bar on the rear
of the watercraft, pull until the rope is tight,
then knot to secure. Tie off any excess
rope.

Secured watercraft should look
as shown.
Repeat steps 16-18 for securing
the watercraft to the front of the
vehicle.


• Test movement by rocking
watercraft side to side

Always be sure to check ALL straps and hardware before use
(and periodically on long trips) and tighten if needed.
If straps become worn or frayed, replace them by visiting

ANTENNA WARNING:
Antenna on vehicle roof may cause interference with long loads.
Consult vehicle owner’s manual on proper removal of the antenna.
REAR HATCH WARNING:
Longer loads could prevent vehicle’s rear hatch from opening.
Always use caution when opening rear hatch.

Antes de instalar el nuevo cargador
de kayak J-Rac, asegúrese de que los
travesaños estén limpios y libres de
residuos. Los travesaños limpios

Empuje la abrazadera de fijación (F)
contra la parte inferior del travesaño,
debajo del J-Rac, e inserte los
pernos de carruaje (H) a través de
los orificios de la abrazadera de
fijación.

Atornille las perillas de fijación (G),
de nuevo sobre los pernos de
carruaje (H) hasta que estén firmes,
pero no apriete totalmente.

Repita los pasos 2-6 para asegurar
el segundo J-Rac al travesaño
trasero.
Asegúrese de que los travesaños
tengan una distancia mínima de 24"
entre sí (a mayor distancia, más
estabilidad de la embarcación).

Una vez estén alineados (Paso 8),
ASEGURE AMBOS J-RAC POR
COMPLETO
apretando las perillas de fijación.
Inserte la correa con hebilla de leva
(C) a través de la cubierta de la
hebilla de leva (C), dejando la hebilla
de leva expuesta al final.
Inserte la correa de la hebilla de leva
(C) a través de la parte superior del
J-Rac en el travesaño delantero y
amarre.

El J-Rac de ROLA está equipado con
almohadillas de espuma para
proteger la embarcación contra rayones
durante el transporte. Para una mayor
protección, sobre todo para cascos con
acabados de laca brillante, utilice un paño
suave para mayor protección.

Cargue la embarcación y cuelgue ambos
extremos de la correa hacia arriba y sobre
el kayak como se muestra.
Deslice la cubierta de la hebilla de
leva sobre la hebilla de leva para
proteger la embarcación durante el
transporte.
Repita los pasos 11-15 para
asegurar la embarcación al J-Rac en
el travesaño trasero.

travesaño delantero luego

Enganche la cuerda a una superficie
metálica en el parachoques, bucle
de remolque, u orificio del bastidor
usando en gancho (E).
Inserte el otro extremo de la cuerda
(D) a través de la manija o barra de
rescate en la parte posterior de la
embarcación, hale hasta que la cuerda
esté apretada, luego amarre para
asegurar. Amarre cualquier exceso de
cuerda.
