Ruijie RG-ES100 Series Switches Hardware Installation and Reference Guide
with 30 mA rated action current supports less than ten power supplies (that is, action current of the leakage
protector/2/maximum leakage current of each power supply = 30/2/1.5 =10). In other words, the leakage protector
with 30mAratedactioncurrentsupports no more thantenpowersupplies.Inthis case,thetwentypowersupplies in
the system require at least two leakage protectors with 30 mA rated action current and each leakage protector
supports ten powersupplies.Ifpowersupplies ina system differinmodels, theratedleakageactioncurrentofeach
leakage protectordivided bytwois greaterthan the sum of maximum leakagecurrent ofallthe powersupplies. The
rated leakage non-action current of a leakage protector must be 50% of the leakage action current. The leakage
protector with30 mAratedleakageactioncurrentis usedas anexample.Theratedleakagenon-actioncurrentmust
be 15 mA. When the leakage current falls below15 mA, the protector should not act. Otherwise, misoperation may
easilyoccur due to high sensitivityand thus the leakage protector trips, devices are powered off, and services are
interrupted.
Toguaranteepersonalsafety, the rated leakage actioncurrentofeach leakage protectorinthe system mustbeequal
to orless than30 mA(human bodysafetycurrentis 30 mA). When twice ofthe total leakage currentof thesystem is
greaterthan 30 mA, the system mustbeequippedwithtwoor moreleakageprotectors.
For details of the leakagecurrentvalue of each powersupplymodel, see Chapter1Product Overview.
2.1.4 Static Discharge Damage Prevention
To prevent damage from staticelectricity, pay attentionto the following points:
Propergroundingofgrounding screws on thebackpanel of the device
Indoordustprevention
Properhumidityconditions
2.2 InstallationSite Requirements
The installation site must meet the following requirement to ensure normal working and a prolonged durable life ofthe
switch.
2.2.1 Ventilation
Youmustmaintain aminimum clearanceof100mm (3.94in.)around thedevice.Aftervarious cables havebeenconnected,
theyshould bearranged into bundles orplaced onthe cablingrack toavoid airinlet blocking. It is recommended thatthe
device becleaned atregularintervals. In particular, avoid dusts from blockingthescreen mesh on thebackofthecabinet.
2.2.2 Temperature and Humidity
To ensure the normal operation and prolong the service life of RG-ES100 series switch, keep proper temperature and
humidityin the equipmentroom.
If the temperatureand humidityin the equipmentroom donot meetrequirements fora long periodoftime, the device may
be damaged.
In an environment with a high humidity, insulating materials may have bad insulation or even leaking electricity.
