
8. CLEANING
FOR OPTIMUM PERFORMANCE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ENSURE THE SPRAY GUN IS CORRECTLY CLEANED AFTER EACH USE.
Disconnect from the air supply before attempting any cleaning or maintenance.
8.1. CLEANING THE GUN
8.1.1. Flush the gun through with clean solvent.
8.1.2. Useabristlebrushandsolventtowashoaccumulatedpaint.
8.1.3. Cleantheairnozzleusingabrush.Blowcleanwithair.HandleallnozzlescarefullyandDO NOT make any alterations in the gun.
8.1.4. Wipe the outside of the gun with a dampened solvent rag.
8.1.5. Ifthereisaneedtoprobetheholesinthenozzles,ensureatoolthatissofterthanbrassisutilised,undernocircumstancesusea
metaltool,astheslightestamountofdamagewilladverselyaectthespraypattern.
8.1.6. Adjusttheuidneedlevalvesothatwhenthegunistriggered,airowoccursbeforeuidow.
9. MAINTENANCE
9.1.1. Takecarewhenre-assembling.Screwpartshandtighttoavoidcross-threading.Ifapartcannoteasilybeturnedbyhand,check
that it is the correct part, or unscrew it, realign and retry. DO NOT use excessive force when re-assembling.
9.1.2. Whenchangingthenozzlesize,ensurethecompletenozzlesetistted.Thisconsistsofaircap,uidnozzleandpaintneedle.
Inserttheuidnozzlebeforepaintneedle.
10. TROUBLESHOOTING
Afaultysprayisusuallycausedbyimpropercleaningordriedmaterialaroundtheuidnozzletiporintheairnozzle.Ifcleaningis
required,removethesepartsandsoaktheminsolvent.Thiswillsoftenthedriedmaterialwhichcanthenberemovedwithabrushoracloth.
Thesepartsarecarefullymachinedandanydamagetothemwillcauseafaultyspray.Ifeithertheairnozzleoruidnozzlearedamaged,they
must be replaced before a perfect spray can be obtained.
Problem Possible Causes Solution
Dried material in a side port restricts passage of air.
Greaterflowofairfromthecleansideportforcesa
fan pattern in the direction of the clogged side.
Dissolve material in the side ports with solvent, then
blow the gun clean. DO NOTpokeintothenozzles
with metal instruments.
Driedmaterialaroundtheoutsideofthefluidnozzle
tiprestrictsthepassageofatomizingairatonepoint
throughthecentreopeningoftheairnozzleand
resultsinthepatternshown.Thispatterncanalso
becausedbyalooseairnozzle.
Removetheairnozzleandwipeofffluidtipusinga
ragdampenedwithsolvent.Tightentheairnozzle.
Materialtoothinoratomizationairpressuretoohigh. Regulate material viscosity or reduce air pressure.
Paintsprayutter
Not enough paint in bottle.
Nozzleset/seatingdirty,damagedorloosely
installed.
Refillbottle.Removethefluidnozzle,cleantheback
ofthenozzleandthenozzleseatusingacloth
dampenedwiththinner.Refitthenozzleandsecure
it tightly against the body.
Ifnecessaryreplacenozzleset.
Materialbubblesor“boils”inpaintcup.
Atomised air flowing through the paint channel to the
bottle.Thepaintnozzleisnotsufficientlytight.
Airnozzleisnotcompletelyscrewedon.
Tighten,cleanorreplacepartsaccordingly.
