Basic setup when connecting to a Blu-ray player
The following figure shows a typical setup of the Avitech Seneca X-HDUT (transmitter) and X-HDUR (receiver) module connected to a Blu-ray player.

Front panel of Seneca X-HDUT
There are four LEDs and one IR port in the front of the Seneca:
Power –The PWR LED glows green when power is connected, otherwise OFF
Link –The LINK LED glows green when the Seneca X-HDUT is connected to the Seneca X-HDUR and when power is connected to both devices, otherwise OFF
Status –The STAT LED glows green when the Seneca X-HDUT is connected to a particular computer, blinks amber during firmware upgrade, otherwise OFF
HDCP –The HDCP LED glows green when the source signal includes HDCP encryption, blinks green when the source signal does not include HDCP encryption,
otherwise OFF
Infrared –The IR blaster port transmit infrared signal to IR-compliant device for wireless communication (e.g., DVD player)

Front panel of Seneca X-HDUR

Rear panel of Seneca X-HDUT
There are six ports and two dip switches in the rear of the Seneca:
USB B-type –connects to the remote computer’s USB connector, or Sequoia 4H / 2H2U
Dip switches –for updating the firmware; as well as when resetting the Seneca to the factory-default setting
2.5 mm mini jack –connects to the IR Blaster extension cable used in transmitting IR signal to infrared-capable device(s)
Ethernet –connects the Seneca X-HDUT and Seneca X-HDUR via the Cat 5e / 6 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) Ethernet cable
HDMI loop-out –connects to an external monitor for displaying video source content (as well as outputting audio) coming from the HDMI IN connector
HDMI input –accepts HDMI video / audio input
Power –connects to the 5 V 3 A DC power input

There are six ports and two dip switches in the rear of the Seneca:
USB B-type –connects to a computer (e.g., laptop computer) for using the proprietary Avitech Hook software
USB A-type –connects to a USB mouse and keyboard
Dip switches –for updating the firmware; as well as when resetting the Seneca to the factory-default setting
Ethernet –connects the Seneca X-HDUR and Seneca X-HDUT via the Cat 5e / 6 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) Ethernet cable
HDMI output –connects to an external monitor for displaying video source content (as well as outputting audio)
Headset –connects to a headset for audio signal output (stereo)
Power –connects to the 5 V 3 A DC power input

Audio HDMI in-/output
HDMI IN
1 ×HDMI socket with audio input.
Typical use: HDMI In to connect to external playback
devices such as Blu-ray player, computer, Sequoia 4H,
Sequoia 2H2U.
Unused, but connected audio input should be set to Off
to avoid unwanted audio / noise.
HDMI OUT
1 ×HDMI socket, digital video output. There is audio
output.
Use HDMI OUT to connect to a flat screen display with
speakers. HDMI OUT will provide stereo audio speaker
signals.
Main connector: The HDMI OUT is the main connector
to the monitor display.
HDMI LOOP OUT
1 ×HDMI socket, digital video output. There is audio
output.
Use HDMI LOOP OUT to connect to a flat screen display
with speakers. HDMI LOOP OUT will provide stereo
audio speaker signals.
Secondary connector: The HDMI LOOP OUT is the
connector to the monitor for displaying video source
content (as well as providing audio) coming into HDMI IN
connector.

Infrared in-/output
IR (Seneca X-HDUT)
1 ×Infrared Blaster port.
IR –Infrared
Typical use: IR to transmit infrared signal to
infrared-compliant device for wireless communication
such as DVD player.
IR (Seneca X-HDUR)
1 ×infrared receiver port.
Typical use: IR to accept infrared signal from an
infrared-compliant device for wireless communication
such as remote controller.
Ext IR
1 ×2.5 mm Mini Jack.
Typical use: Connects to the Infrared Blaster extension
cable used in transmitting infrared signal to
infrared-capable device(s) such as DVD player.

Sequoia 4H, Sequoia 2H2U.
