This informaon is intended for end users.
The target group comprises all persons who carry out
the following acvies:
• operaon and maintenance of KFV products
• operaon and maintenance of installed door ele-
ments that are equipped with KFV products.
The following persons may only operate the product if
they have understood the dangers involved in handling
the product or if they are supervised during operaon:
• children
• persons with diminished physical, sensory or mental
capabilies
• persons with a lack of experience and knowledge
children must not play with the product.
 
The GENIUS 2.2 is an electromechanical mul-point
lock for the motorised locking and unlocking of doors.
The documentaon, enclosed in the product, must be handed
over to the listed target groups (see above). Keep a copy of the
cover side with the aached scker in a safe place:

• The GENIUS 2.2 is suitable for installaon in mber,
aluminium, steel and PVC 1-sash and 2-sash en-
trance doors.
• Use the GENIUS 2.2 PANIC as shown below:
– in a technically sound condion
– only with original KFV products and accessories
• do not interfere with and/or make any modicaons
to the GENIUS 2.2 PANIC.
• Foreign objects and/or materials which impede or
prevent proper use must not be placed within the
opening range, the locking system or the striker
plates.
• Locking elements must not be misused to hold the
door open.

• The transit support provided must remain in the
main lock during the transport of a pre-assembled
door without cylinder lock.
• In the installed and non-installed status of the mul-
-point lock, ensure that the locking elements are in
the release posion.
• Mul-point locks are sensive components and
must therefore be handled with care. For example,
they must not be thrown, hit hard or bent.
• Do not carry the door by the lever handle or hard-
ware when transporng it.
 
• All work on the 230 V AC mains power supply
must be carried out in compliance with the current
German VDE regulaons (e. g., VDE 0100) and any
relevant country-specic requirements.
• All-pole safety isolaon should be used when rout-
ing the power supply network connecon cable
on-site.
• Wiring the unit incorrectly can irreparably damage
its electronic components.
• If energy-carrying cables are routed in parallel to
data cables (ISDN, DSL, etc.), this could lead to inter-
ference e.g. in the speed of the data transmission.
Only use the shielded original KFV cable.
• All funcons of the GENIUS 2.2 PANIC are only com-
pletely available aer the described commissioning
process.
 
The warning notes in these instrucons
• when observed, provide protecon against potenal
personal injury and material damage,
• classify the level of danger by the signal word,
• designate the danger of personal injury via the
hazard sign,
• dene the type and source of danger,
• show measures to prevent hazards and prohibit
specic behaviour.
The warning notes are set up according to the following
principle:
SIGNAL WORD

explanaon of the type and source of danger
• measures for the prevenon of the danger
the hazard sign designates warning noces that warn
of personal injury.
The type and source of the hazard denes the cause of
the hazard. The potenal consequences of non-obser-
vaon of warning noces are e.g. danger to life due to
electric shock.
Under measures, acons are listed that must be carried
out for the prevenon of hazards or which are prohibit-
ed for the prevenon of a hazard.
 
DANGER
The signal word "Danger" designates an immediately
threatening danger. If this hazard is not prevented, it
leads to death or severe injuries.
WARNING
The signal word "Warning" designates a potenal
hazard. If this hazard is not prevented, it could lead to
death or severe injuries.
CAUTION
The signal word "Cauon" designates a potenally
hazardous situaon. If this hazardous situaon is not
prevented, it could lead to minor or moderate injuries.
NOTICE
The signal word "Noce" denes acons for the pre-
venon of material damage. The observaon of these
notes prevents damage to the components.
Informaon, advice etc.
This symbol indicates special features and designates
facts that require increased aenon.

Opening in the direcon of escape is possible at any
me by acvaon of the lever handle or the horizontal
actuang bar.

is blocked again once the door closes and it is not pos-
sible to escape back into the building.

• Emergency opening in the direcon of escape: open
door using the lever handle or horizontal actuang
bar.
• Opening against the direcon of escape: unlock and
open the door using the key. Turn the key to the
release stop.
• Locking in night mode: the door is automacally
locked when it is closed.
• Locking in day mode: there is no automac locking.
 
Opening in the direcon of escape is possible at any
me by acvaon of the lever handle or the horizontal
actuang bar.
Opening the door against the direcon of escape via
the lever handle is only possible aer unlocking with
the key or by using the motorised unlocking via the
GENIUS 2.2 PANIC mul-point lock.

• Emergency opening in the direcon of escape: open
door using the lever handle or horizontal actuang
bar.

In day mode the door can be locked manually with the
cylinder key. All locking elements are extended in the
process.

In night mode the door is locked automacally when
it is closed. All locking elements are extended in the
process
 
The mul-point lock with GENIUS 2.2 PANIC can be
unlocked from the inside via the cylinder lock, the lever
handle, the horizontal actuang bar or via an oponal
access control system. For this purpose, the key must
be fully acvated as far as the release stop or the
relevant hardware or triggered via an opening impulse
from the access control system: all locking elements
including the latch are retracted.
• To lock or unlock the door with the cylinder key, always turn it
as far as it will go. The cylinder key must then be turned back
some way before it can be removed from the cylinder lock.
• If the door is released automacally, it remains open for 7 s
and an acousc signal will be audible for this period. If the
door is opened during this period, the signal tone will switch
o.
• The mul-point lock with GENIUS 2.2 PANIC will return to the
locking posion if the door is not opened during this period.
The mul-point lock with GENIUS 2.2 PANIC locks mechanically
automacally if the door is closed.
• Opening the door via cylinder lock, lever handle, or horizontal
actuang bar is only admissible during motor shutdown.
• Opening during the locking process leads to cancellaon. The
GENIUS 2.2 PANIC with cylinder operated lock E moves to the
"unlocked" posion and the latch is drawn into the cylinder
operated lock.
• The door must be opened and closed before it can be locked
electro-mechanically. The GENIUS 2.2 PANIC mul-point lock
then moves to the 'locked' posion.

• Opening against the direcon of escape: unlock the
door using the key. Turn the key to the release stop.
The lever handle against the direcon of escape
is coupled once. Opening the door using the lever
handle.
• Locking in night mode: the door is automacally
locked. Aer using the escape funcon, access
against the direcon of escape is blocked again once
the door closes and it is not possible to escape back
into the building.
• Locking in day mode: there is no automac locking.
The lever handle against the direcon of escape is
always coupled. Acvate the lever handle to open
against the direcon of escape.

The GENIUS 2.2 PANIC enables use in two dierent modes of operaon.
In day mode the door is only used in latch funcon, the door is not completely locked when it is closed.
This mode of operaon is recommended for frequently used doors.
Access without authorisaon is possible in combinaon with an oponal day latch.
In night mode the door is locked automacally when it is closed. This mode of operaon is recommended for
doors with normal levels of use, e. g. in detached houses and apartments.

The buzzer delivers the acousc feedback of the opening process or malfuncon.
The volume for the feedback of the opening process is adjustable in ve stages from 0 % to 100 %. Coupled to this
is the sound volume of the buon of the menu buon with excepon of the stage 0%. The volume remains at 25%
here.
The following values can be set in the menu „volume of buzzer“:

The feedback funcon provides informaon on the status of the selected funcons via an output contact (e. g.
door closed and locked). This makes a potenal-free switching output available for third party systems (e. g. alarm
systems).
The following values can be set in the menu "terminal 7 feedback funcon":

The feedback contact can also be set in its funcon as a locking bolt or as an opener.
If the funcon "Locking bolt“ is selected, this will switch on the coupling relay when the status of the selected
funcon is fullled (e. g. door closed and locked).
If the funcon "Opener" is selected, this will switch on the coupling relay when the status of the selected funcon
is fullled (e. g. door closed and locked). The feedback contact must be set to "Opener" for feedback to an alarm
system. The coupling relay status will be retained if the supply voltage should fail in this seng.
The following values can be set in the menu "Terminal 7 feedback funcon":

The Day / Night switchover mode can be acvated via the buon with menu LED or via the terminal 1. Dierent
pre-sengs can be made. E.g. the buon with menu LED can be deacvated and, in return, an external switch ac-
vated in order to exclude an unauthorised switchover of the Day/Night mode on the GENIUS 2.2 PANIC. The last
status set on the buon remains.
Day operaon is acve when terminal 1 is locked via a potenal-free make contact. Night operaon is acve when
the make contact is open.
The following values can be set in the menu "Day/Night switchover per buon and terminal 1":

The menu "Device services" is for the purpose of commissioning or service.
The following funcons can be carried out in the menu „device services“:

The menu „System services“ provided funcons, which can be used in conjuncon with the SIEGENIA access
control systems (ACS). The menu can be retrieved up to 10 minutes following the system start. A warning signal
sounds if an aempt is made to retrieve the menu beyond the me period.
The following funcons can be carried out in the menu „system services“:
 LED 
Couple devices Couple all devices connected via the SI-BUS with GENIUS
(See instrucons for SIEGENIA access control systems)
Separate devices
Separate all devices that are not connected via the SI-BUS from GENIUS.
All devices that are no longer connected to the SI-BUS will be removed from the SI-BUS.
All devices that are sll connected remain coupled. The devices that are to be separated may no longer be physically
connected to the SI-BUS.
Unblock ACS Premature unblocking of the SIEGENIA ACS, which has been blocked for a specic period due to erroneous informa-
on.

 WIFI
The menu „WIFI“ provides WIFI funcons, which can be used in conjuncon with the SIEGENIA access control
systems (ACS). The menu can be retrieved up to 5 minutes following the system start. A warning signal sounds if
an aempt is made to retrieve the menu beyond the me period.
The following funcons can be carried out in the menu „WIFI“:

The following WIFI adjustments are reset to the factory sengs:

• unencrypted WIFI

WPS mode
Coupling the devices via the the WPS mode in the home network.
Following acvaon of this funcon, the SIEGENIA ACS searches 2 minutes for a WIFI access point with WPS mode.
The WIFI conguraon is received and the WIFI connecon is set up.
The SIEGENIA ACS can be accessed via SIEGENIA Comfort app
Info mode Issue of the SSID and the serial number of the GENIUS via SIEGENIA Comfort app.
The info mode will end aer 2 minutes.
 




