These installation instructions cover the connection of
the Siemens SiPass Driver to the SiPass system
only.
For hardware installation of the PXC Modular, see
the PXC Modular Series Installation Instructions
(553-638).
For hardware installation of the PXC-36, see the
PXC Compact 36 Installation Instructions
(553-504).
Product Description
The Siemens SiPass Driver enables communication
between the APOGEE® Automation System and the
Siemens SiPass system.

Required Tools and Materials
Flat-blade screwdriver (1/8-inch blade width).
Wire strippers.
Cabling and connectors. See the Connecting the
Driver to the SiPass System section.
CAUTION
Always wear an electro-static discharge
(ESD) wrist strap and discharge
accumulated static before touching field
panel components.

Prerequisites
Driver hardware is installed according to its
respective installation instructions.
FLN termination blocks are installed.
One 115V or 230V receptacle (depending on
device) is available to power the Trunk Interface
II.
Ethernet infrastructure is installed.
Depending on the type of installation, other
prerequisites may have to be completed.
Connecting the Driver to the SiPass
System
Follow these steps to connect the driver to the SiPass
System:
1. Install the Trunk Interface II per the diagram in
Figure 1.
2. Connect cables per the diagram in Figure 1.
3. Plug in the power supply for the Trunk Interface II
per the diagram in Figure 1.
