Operating Instructions RDD10.1DHW
RDD10.1DHW is a temperature controller that allows you to set the ideal room temperature at the
time you want and with independent control of DHW (Domestic Hot Water). There are 3 operating
modes available. You can either rely on the factory settings or make settings that suit your
personal needs.

Commissioning
The controller is supplied with factory-set temperatures and operating mode. To commission
it, proceed as follows:

Remove the black transit tabs from the 2 batteries. Check to see if the battery holder
is in its correct position. The controller switches itself on.
Do you want to change the operating mode?
By pressing , you can change the operating
mode. The sequence is started from normal operation,
energy saving mode and frost protection, or vice versa.
Then, the setpoint of the selected operating mode will
be maintained.
In normal operation, the display shows , in energy
saving mode, the display shows , and in frost
protection mode, the display shows .
Default operating mode is “Normal operation”.
When the unit is first powered up,
the display shows .
Are your rooms too warm or too cold?

To increase or decrease the room temperature
setpoint in increments of 0.5 °C, proceed as follows:
•Press to select the operating mode
corresponding to the set point that you want to
change
•Press
+or once
The setpoint display starts flashing
•Press these buttons again to change the
temperature setpoint in the range 5 ... 35 °C
5 seconds after the last push, the new temperature
setpoint will automatically be saved. The display stops
flashing and shows the room temperature currently
measured.
Note:
The setpoint in energy saving mode can be set to
0 °C. This means OFF or, in other words, the
controller is not active in energy saving mode and
symbol will not appear on the display.
Risk of frost!
If you want to have frost protection, press to
select frost protection mode, the display shows
and default value is 5 °C. If the room temperature falls
below the preset frost protection level, it will
automatically activate the heating output.

Energy saving tips without sacrificing comfort
•Never allow room temperatures to exceed 21 °C
•Press to change to energy saving or frost protection mode, even if
you are absent for short periods of time only
•Air out the rooms for short periods of time only, but properly, with the
windows wide open
Do you want to switch on DHW heating?
•Press to switch on DHW heating
•When DHW heating is switched ON, the display shows the symbol
•When pressing once again, DHW heating will be switched OFF and the
displays will not show the symbol
Does the symbol appear on the display?

When this symbol appears, you need to replace the batteries within the following
2 weeks.
Do you want to change the batteries?
•Get 2 new alkaline batteries type AA, 1.5 V
•Remove the battery holder, then the batteries, insert the new batteries and
replace the battery holder
•Make certain the old batteries are disposed of properly, in compliance with
environmental requirements
Recalibrating the sensor

If the room temperature displayed by the controller does
not match the temperature effectively measured, the
temperature sensor can be recalibrated.
Follow the steps below to recalibrate the sensor:
1. In normal operation, press the “+” and operating mode
changeover buttons simultaneously for more
than 3 seconds, switching the system to calibration
mode.
2. The display format in calibration mode is the same as in
normal or energy saving mode, but with the temperature
digits flashing at 1Hz. You can adjust the temperature to
the desired value with the “+” or “-” button at 0.5 K per
step. The maximum adjustable range is +/- 3 K.

3. If no button is pressed for 5 seconds, the system will
return to the initial operating mode and the temperature
is set to the new value.
Note that the operating mode changeover and DHW
buttons are deactivated in calibration mode.
