DOL 278A ON/OFF
2.3 Weekly Testing
The emergency opening system MUST be tested once a week in order to ensure that the
emergency opening system works faultlessly.
During the summer season, the test is carried out early in the morning when the flaps have
not yet opened completely.
1) Disconnect the mains voltage to the climate computer and DOL 278A ON/OFF on the common
external TEST mains switch.
2) Check that:
•the inlets open completely (with a two-house computer they must open simultaneously in both
houses).
•the green battery lamp remains on during the entire test as a sign that the battery voltage is
sufficient (i.e. > 16 V).
3) Connect the mains voltage again.
The inlets must close again.
3 Maintenance Instructions
Replace the battery module at least every three years.
Replace the ventilation plugs at the same time as the battery.
3.1 Battery Voltage Check
Battery voltage can be measured by carrying out “Weekly testing” several consecutive times until the battery
can no longer open the motors. This way, a realistic measurement is achieved of how many times the connected
houses can be opened emergency-wise using the battery.
It should be possible to open the houses at least twice in a row using the battery when it is fully charged.
Charging the battery fully takes 3-5 hours.
3.2 Cleaning
Clean DOL 278A ON/OFF with a firmly wrung cloth, do not use solvents. Do not expose it to water jets or
high-pressure cleaning.
As for all electronic equipment, it is best for DOL 278A ON/OFF to be connected all the time as this will keep
it dry and free from condensation.
If power is to be switched off for several hours, disconnect the battery, as otherwise it will be damaged.
3.3 Removal for Recycling
SKOV A/S products, which are suited for recycling, are marked with a pictogram showing
a refuse bin that is crossed out. See the picture.
It will be possible for a customer to deliver SKOV products to local collection sites/recycling stations according
to local instructions. The recycling station will then send the products to an approved plant for recycling and
reuse.
