DOL 278CT Emergency Opening
2.2.1 Side mode
Temperature-controlled emergency opening is only activated when the inside temperature exceeds the
temperature to which the emergency opening is set (Emergency opening temperature).
“Temperature-controlled” means that a minor excess temperature gives a slow opening so that an
undercooling of the house is avoided. Correspondingly, a higher excess temperature gives a quicker
opening when needed.
DOL 278CT adjusts every three minutes. If the house temperature exceeds the setting of the
temperature knob by e.g. one degree, the inlets open for just a few seconds every three minutes,
resulting in 40-60 minutes for a total opening with a DA 75 winch motor. At a higher excess
temperature of e.g. six degrees above the setting of the temperature knob, the inlets open several
seconds every three minutes, resulting in 6-10 minutes for a total opening with a DA 75 winch motor.
The integrated battery and charger of the DOL 278CT ensure that the inlets also make a temperature-
controlled emergency opening in case of excess temperature in connection with a power failure.
2.2.2 Tunnel mode
When the climate computer is in tunnel mode, the DOL 278CT will only activate an emergency
opening in case of a power failure, i.e. the temperature-controlled emergency opening is not active in
tunnel mode.
2.3 Setting and Reading the Emergency Opening Temperature
On the DOL 278CT temperature knob, you should set the temperature directly at which the emergency
opening system is to open. The setting can be read in the display of the DOL 339 climate and
production computer together with the temperature setpoint.
When you want to … read the Emergency opening temperature in the display of the DOL
339 climate and production computer, go to the Alarms/Alarm limits/Climate/ Emergency
control/Temperature controlled emergency opening menu
→Emergency opening temperature should be set
approx. 5°C above the Temperature setpoint
2.4 Setting and Connection or Disconnection of Warning at Emergency
Temperature
The DOL 339 climate and production computer can give a warning, which will flash in the display if
Emergency opening temperature is set too high compared to the Temperature setpoint
(inside temperature). This is particularly relevant in houses with batch production and a decreasing
temperature curve. Here, you should continuously make a downward adjustment of Emergency
opening temperature. However, the too high setting may also have been created by mistake.
The warning function can be connected or disconnected. It must be set with the number of degrees that
Emergency opening temperature is allowed to exceed the Temperature setpoint before the
computer is to give a warning.
