OVERVIEW
The SMC EZ Switch™ 10/100/1000 (SMCGS8P-Smart) is an 8-port 10/100/1000 gigabit smart switch with
PoE that brings the speed of gigabit ethernet to the desktop with the flexibility of PoE. Equipped with 8 auto-
MDIX ports and 1 combo SFP port, this gigabit switch is suitable for enterprise or SMB environments that
demand high performance and flexible PoE installations. Power over Ethernet enables you to install wireless
access points, IP cameras or VOIP phone systems without the need to run extra power sockets.
The SMCGS8P-Smart also provides a flexible web based management interface to enable the configuration
of switch features, port settings including security, QoS with 4 priority queues, link aggregation, VLAN’s and
PoE. These features allow traditionally unmanaged networks to increase throughput and flexibility. Security
is becoming critical in next generation networks so this switch has added security features to protect your
network. SMC has brought together ease of use, critical features and the flexibility of PoE into one package.

Flexible QoS and VLAN
The gigabit Ethernet ports provide high speed and legacy
connections to all nodes on the network, while the combo port
allows fiber connections to be connected, thereby ensuring a
migration path for network installations.
Qos allows prioritization based on 802.1p and DSCP using 4
priority queues for better network performance and VLAN support
both port and tag based VLANs for more efficient management.

Flexible and easy to use web interface enables quick installation
and configuration for any user
With IEEE802.3af compliant PoE on non-Combo Copper ports,
devices such as VoIP Phones and IP cameras can be installed
without running separate power lines.
