Getting Started
First, make sure you have all the parts and tools required to install your shades.
ALL THE HARDWARE YOU’LL NEED: Pencil, screwdriver, ¼” nut driver, level, and a drill with a
1⁄16” drill bit, measuring tape, hex head screws are supplied for the mounting brackets.
Locate wooden studs where you’ll want to attach
the brackets; if you need to mount your shades
to wallboard or plaster, use a secure fastener
designed for hollow applications. For metal
surfaces, pre-drill holes and use the included
screws. For concrete, stone, brick, or tile surfaces,
use a masonry drill and appropriate plugs, anchors, or screws.
It’s important when selecting a fastener to make sure it’s designed to support the weight of the
shade. Follow the fastener manufacturer’s instruction from there on out.
WALLBOARD OR PLASTER: Hollow door applications: Use a secure fastener designed
specically for this purpose.
METAL: Metal door applications: Prepare by pre-drilling holes and then using the included screws.
Note: It’s important to monitor the amount of pressure you apply when using a drill. If the screws
are too tight this may cause the screw itself to break off in the wall or frame.

STEP 3 - HANGING THE SHADESTEP 2 - MOUNTING BRACKETS
Inside Mount
Hold the mounting bracket inside the
door or window frame so that the front
edge of the shade and the front edge
of the door or window line up. Don’t
forget to keep it centered (you’ll want the
spaces between the ends of the headrail
and window edges to be equal). End
brackets are located on each end based
on shade width. See chart below. To fully
recess the shade, it requires a at surface
with a 2" minimum.
Attach the two brackets at against
the top sill surface. Use the top two
bracket holes.
Outside Mount
Hold the mounting bracket above the
window so that it’s perfectly centered.
Using a pencil, mark where the holes
will be for the screws. Drill holes where
the pencil marks are to start where you
will screw in the bracket. Line up the
bracket with the holes you just drilled.
Next, using the screws provided, mount
the brackets to the door, window frame,
or wall above the window with the
screws provided. Use the rear bracket
holes. The bracket requires a minimum
surface of 3⁄4" high.
With the top brackets securely
fastened to the top window frame or
wall above the door or window, attach
the bottom brackets in similar fashion
except turn the bracket upside down.

Unwind the cord from the shade, but
keep the rubber band around the
shade stack.
1. Hold the shade up near the brackets
and insert the front clip of the bracket
into the front groove of the rail.
2. Make sure the shade is centered
in the door or window opening.
3. Push the rail back and up until the
back clips of the bracket are inserted
into the back groove of the rail.

bottom rail.
To REMOVE the shade, reverse the
procedure.

STEP 5 - INSTALLING THE HANDLE(S)STEP 4 - ADJUST TENSION
Using the handle attachment method
below is especially important when
attaching handles to shades with fabric
wrapped rails, and will ensure that the
fabric wrap is not damaged.
Carefully determine the placement
of the handle(s). Handle should be
placed at the center of the moving
rail. Attempting to move handles
after they have been installed may
cause damage to the fabric on
the rails.
Gently lift the shade fabric out of the
way. Hook the handle on the underside
of the lower moving rail and swing up
as shown, until the top of the handle
snaps securely in place.
If the shade is a top down/bottom up,
repeat the process for the handle on
the upper moving rail.
The handle will sit approximately 1/2"
above the window sill when the shade
is fully lowered. This allows easy access
for grasping the handle when raising
the shade.

Adjust Tension
Start by raising the moving rail(s) up to
the top rail, compressing the fabric stack
tightly. This will insure the leveling of the
moving rail(s). Holding the moving rail(s)
in that position, start tightening one of
the tension bolts (either side) using a  at
head screwdriver.
When turning the tensioning bolt
clockwise to tighten, you should see
the slack in the cord removed. The
tensioning bolt should not be able to
turn back by itself. If it does, you need
to tighten the nut on the back of the
tensioning bolt.
Turn the bolt until all slack is removed,
but the cord is not tight. Repeat the
process for the other side.
The  nal cord adjustment now needs
to be made. The number of turns in
tightening the tension bolts will vary
from shade to shade. Start by tightening
each side one full turn. Try operating the
shade from full open to full closed.
If the shade feels tight or is dif cult
to move; decrease the amount of
tension in each side equally (turn bolt
counterclockwise). If the shade won't
stay fully open or closed; increase the
amount of tension in each side equally
(turn bolt clockwise).
If the lower moving rail won't close
evenly across the bottom rail, or the
upper moving rail won't close evenly
across the top rail, then you need to
adjust one or both of the cords to get
equal amounts of tension in each.

CARE & CLEANING AND SAFETY
Care & Cleaning
The shade fabric is easy to care for. Regular dusting with a feather duster or vacuum
cleaner brush is recommended. Most stains can be blotted with a damp sponge and
mild detergent. Before using anything stronger than mild detergent and lukewarm
water, test an unobtrusive corner of the shade. If you have any questions, call your
dealer for advice.

OPERATING & REMOVING THE SHADE
Operation
Use the handle to position the moving
rail to the desired location.
The shade will hold at any position
when the moving rail is released.
Removing The Shade
Push the top rail in toward the window.
Rotate the back of the top rail down
away from the bracket.
As you release the brackets, support the
top rail to keep it from falling.
Use the same process to remove the
shade from the lower brackets.
