Snom M9 Deskphone Quick Start Guide.
This document serves as a phone-specific guide to usual functions using the handset.
This guide serves to augment the overall Installation/Quick start guide... it does not
replace it. Please review both guides, as well as the Snom 9 User anual
located here .
This guide is prepared for Firmware version 3.3.3.0069. Earlier firmware versions may
operate differently,
Deskset Handset
Function Steps
Obtain IP address for
phone
Hit the button in the center of the silver circle.
The screen will display six icons.
Use the Silver Disk and select the icon in the upper right
corner. ( the symbol is two gears) Press center button.
Press “Down” until “System Info” is displayed.
Hit center button.
Read off IP address (i.e. 192.168.1.2).

Answering an
Incoming Call
The telephone unit will ring, and the Caller ID of the incoming call will display
on the screen.
● To answer the call using the handset, simply pick up the handset
and hit the center button.
aking a call ● To initiate a call with the handset simply pick it up and dial the number
with the keypad. Then hit either the green phone button or the button
under the “OK” that is a - .
Putting a call on Hold When you are on a call press the button under “options” on the phone screen.
Select “hold” and hit the center button.
When you are on a call, and a new call is signaled as arriving at your phone,
((beep in the background, flashing light, caller id displayed), pick up the
second call by hitting the button under “options on the screen. Select accept
or reject.
Switching between
Calls
You can switch back and forth between the 2 callers. Pick up the second call
by hitting the button under “options” on the screen. Select accept or reject.
Hanging up a call To hang up a call hit the red phone symbol button under the display.
Call transfer ● Press “options”, then transfer. Enter the number to be transferred to
and press “ok”.
● Alternatively, you can enter #1<ext> or #2<ext> for Blind or Attended
Transfer respectively.
Conferencing two calls
together
While on a call, you can receive or initiate another call and then conference
them together.
● Hit hit the “Conf” button under the display screen.
● Initiate another call to an extension or an 10 digit external phone
number. Once that number is connected, hit the “Conf” button
● and the 3 parties will be connected.
● Alternatively, when an incoming call is detected, you can place the
current call on Hold, and then answer the 2nd call, and then
conference the two calls together using the method described above
Voicemail Pickup For picking up “ y voicemail” dial “801”. You will be prompted to enter your
password.
For picking up voicemail at another extension. dial “800”. You will be
prompted for the extension and the password for that extension.
