Install the battery
• Risk of explosion! Batteries should not be exposed to excessive
heat such as bright sunlight or fire�
• Use only the supplied battery�
1� After removing the battery door, plug the battery connector securely into the
socket inside the battery compartment�
2� Place the battery into the battery compartment�
3� Attach the battery door until it clicks into place�
Connecting power to the C52-SP
1� Plug one end of the AC adapter into the power jack on the bottom of the unit�
2� Route the cord through the slots�
3� Plug the large end of the AC adapter into a wall outlet not controlled by a switch�
• The supplied power adapter is designed for use with only the C52-
SP� It is not designed to power other devices� Do not connect the
supplied power adapter to any other devices�
• The AC power cord is intended for a vertical or floor mount
position� The prongs are not designed to hold the plug in place if it
is plugged into a ceiling or cabinet outlet�

Register the C52-SP
You can register the C52-SP DECT Expansion Speakerphone to a C520 SIP Conference
phone or a C620 SIP Wireless Conference Phone�
Register the C52-SP to a C620
For auto registration of the C52-SP, no action is required�
If the administrator of the C52-SP unit decides to perform manual registration instead
of auto registration to a C620 system:
1� Press and hold the MUTE ALL button on the C52-SP unit for five seconds�
2� Press and hold the REGISTRATION button on the bottom of the C52-SP unit for
five seconds�
When you release the button, the C52-SP LEDs will flash red and green
alternatingly� This indicates the C52-SP is ready for registration�
3� Press and hold the LINK key on the C620 base unit for four seconds�
Registration shall begin�
Register the C52-SP to a C520
1� Place the C52-SP near the C520 SIP Conference phone�
2� Press and hold the REGISTRATION button on the bottom of the C52-SP unit for
five seconds�
When you release the button, the C52-SP LEDs will flash red and green
alternatingly� This indicates the C52-SP is ready for registration�
3� On the C520, press �
4� On the Main Menu, press qto select 3. User Settings, and then press �
5� On the User Settings menu, press qto select 6. Wireless speaker, and then
press �
6� On the Wireless Speaker menu, with 1. Register selected, press
The screen displays “Registering���”
• If registration is successful, the screen displays “Registration succeeded�”
The base unit plays a confirmation tone� The registered speakerphone LEDs
stop flashing red and green� The LEDs turn green briefly, and then turn off�
• If registration fails, the screen displays “Registration failed�”
7� Repeat steps 1 to 6 to register any additional wireless speakerphones�
You can register up to three C52-SP units to a C520�
To cancel registration, press �

Deregister the C52-SP
If you want to replace a C52-SP, you must deregister the speakerphones that are
registered to the telephone base� To make deregistration easier, read all of the
instructions below before you begin�
Deregister the C52-SP from a C620
1� Press �
2� On the Main Menu, press qto select Status & Settings, and then press �
3� On the Status & Settings menu, press qto select User settings, and then
press �
4� On the User Settings menu, press qto select Registration, and then press �
5� On the Registration menu, press qto select Deregistration, and then press �
6� On the Deregistration menu, press qto select WIRELESS SPE, and then
press �
7� Enter the PIN, and then press Next � Default PIN Is 1590�
The screen displays “WIRELESS SPE X is deregistered�”
8� To register a new C52-SP, follow the instructions in “Register the C52-SP�”
Deregister the C52-SP from a C520
1� Press �
2� On the Main Menu, press qto select 3. User Settings, and then press �
3� On the User Settings menu, press qto select 6. Wireless speaker, and then
press �
4� On the Wireless Speaker menu, press qto select 2. Deregister, and then
press �
The screen displays “Deregister all wireless speakers?”
5� Press Yes �
The screen displays “Deregistering���” and then “Wireless speakers are
deregistered�”
6� To register a new C52-SP, follow the instructions in “Register the C52-SP�”

might damage the surface or internal electronics of the device�

Important safety instructions
When using your C52-SP DECT Expansion Speakerphone, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to
persons, including the following:
1� Read and understand all instructions�
2� Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product�
3� Unplug this product from the wall outlet before cleaning� Do not use liquid or
aerosol cleaners� Use a damp cloth for cleaning�
4� Do not use this product near water such as near a bathtub, wash bowl, kitchen
sink, laundry tub or swimming pool, or in a wet basement or shower�
5� Do not place this product on an unstable table, shelf, stand or other unstable
surfaces�
6� Slots and openings in the back or bottom of the base unit and wireless mic are
provided for ventilation� To protect them from overheating, these openings must
not be blocked by placing the product on a soft surface such as a bed, sofa or rug�
This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register� This
product should not be placed in any area where proper ventilation is not provided�
7� This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on
the marking label� If you are not sure of the type of power supply in your office,
consult your dealer or local power company�
8� Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord� Do not install this product where
the cord may be walked on�
9� Never push objects of any kind into this product through the slots in the base unit
or wireless mic because they may touch dangerous voltage points or create a
short circuit� Never spill liquid of any kind on the product�
10� To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble this product, but take it
to an authorized service facility� Opening or removing parts of the base unit or
wireless mic other than specified access doors may expose you to dangerous
voltages or other risks� Incorrect reassembling can cause electric shock when the
product is subsequently used�
11� Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords�
12� Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to an authorized
service facility under the following conditions:
A� When the power supply cord or plug is damaged or frayed�
B� If liquid has been spilled onto the product�
C� If the product has been exposed to rain or water�
D� If the product does not operate normally by following the operating
instructions� Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operation
instructions� Improper adjustment of other controls may result in damage
and often requires extensive work by an authorized technician to restore the
product to normal operation�

E� If the product has been dropped and the base unit and/or wireless mic has been
damaged�
F� If the product exhibits a distinct change in performance�
13� Avoid using the C52-SP DECT Expansion Speakerphone during an electrical storm�
There is a remote risk of electric shock from lightning�
14� Do not use the C52-SP DECT Expansion Speakerphone to report a gas leak in the
vicinity of the leak� Under certain circumstances, a spark may be created when
the adapter is plugged into the power outlet, or when the wireless mic is replaced
in its cradle� This is a common event associated with the closing of any electrical
circuit� The user should not plug the phone into a power outlet, and should not
put a charged wireless mic onto the charging cradle, if the phone is located in an
environment containing concentrations of flammable or flame-supporting gases,
unless there is adequate ventilation� A spark in such an environment could create
a fire or explosion� Such environments might include: medical use of oxygen
without adequate ventilation; industrial gases (cleaning solvents; gasoline vapors;
etc�); a leak of natural gas; etc�
15� The power cables are intended to be correctly oriented in a vertical or floor mount
position� The prongs are not designed to hold the plug in place if it is plugged into a
ceiling or cabinet outlet�
16� For pluggable equipment, the socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment
and shall be easily accessible�
17� CAUTION: Use only the batteries indicated in this manual� There may be a risk of
explosion if a wrong type of battery is used� Use only the supplied rechargeable
battery or replacement battery pack� Do not dispose of batteries in a fire� They may
explode� Dispose of used battery according to the information in The RBRC®seal�
18� Use only the adapter included with this product� Incorrect adapter polarity or
voltage can seriously damage the product�

14� N’utilisez pas le Téléphone DECT à haut-parleur mains libres d’extension C52-SP
pour rapporter une fuite de gaz à proximité de la fuite� En certaines circonstances,
une flammèche pourrait être provoquée lorsque l’adaptateur est branché dans
une prise de courant ou lorsque le microphone auxiliaire est déposé sur son socle�
Ceci est un événement commun associé à la fermeture d’un circuit électrique�
L’utilisateur ne doit pas brancher le téléphone dans une prise de courant ni insérer
un microphone sans fil rechargé dans le socle, si le téléphone se trouve dans
un environnement contenant des concentrations de matières inflammables ou
autres gaz susceptibles de produire des flammes, sauf en présence d’une aération
adéquate� Une flammèche dans un tel endroit pourrait provoquer un incendie
ou une explosion� De tels environnements peuvent comprendre: des endroits où
