Introduction
This document describes how to update the AXS-R7

You will need to save the update data to a USB storage
device before performing update.

32 GB.
1
Format the USB storage device on a computer, for
example.
The format conditions are as follows.
• File system: FAT32
• Allocation unit size: 32 KB
Version update cannot be performed under conditions
other than the above.
2
Save the update data to the root directory of the
formatted USB storage device.

For details on the unit or the camcorder, refer to their
respective operating instructions.
1
Remove the two screws securing the plate on the
bottom of the unit.
2

unit.
4
Press the update button using a narrow, pointed
object.
Hold the button for at least 5 seconds or until the
TALLY lamp blinks.
When the update button is pressed, the TALLY lamp
and POWER indicator light and the unit turns on. The

remain steadily lit again when version update starts.
The TALLY lamp will remain lit while update is in
progress.
Version update is complete when the TALLY lamp
begins to blink at 1-second intervals.
Update takes about 15 minutes to complete.
If the unit does not turn on
If the POWER indicator does not light and the unit
does not turn on, the following is possible.
• The AC adapter is not connected.
• Power is not being supplied to the connected AC
adapter.
In such cases, connect the AC adapter properly, and
perform the update procedure again.
If the USB storage device is not recognized
or the update data is not found

update data is not found, the TALLY lamp will blink
faster than at 1-second intervals. The following is
possible in such cases.
• The USB storage device is not fully inserted.
• The USB storage device is not formatted in the
specified file system or allocation unit size.
In such cases, disconnect the DC power supply and
turn the unit off, check for the above, and then
