seamless video distribution for 12 zones of High Definition video throughout
the home via a single Cat5e wire per zone.

1 Meet all requirements defined in the "Requirements" section of this
document and the Instruction Manual provided by Sony Corporation.
2 Use one of the serial null-modem cables provided to connect the Sony
video switcher to the appropriate serial port type (DB9 or Pluggable
Terminal Block) on the Control4 controller using the instructions that follow.
For HC-300 or Media Controller "Serial 1" and "Serial 2" Ports (Figure 2):
Use the provided cable with DB9 female ends to connect the Sony video
switcher and the controller. Figure 2 specifies the pins that are used in the
cable.

appropriate openings of the pluggable terminal block and then snap the
terminal block's latch closed. These are the correct connections (see
Figure 3):
• Insert the black wire from DB9 pin 3 (TX) into the RX terminal block opening.

Install Multiple Video Switchers in a Control4
System
When installing multiple Sony video switchers in a Control4 system, follow
these guidelines:
•Set up multiple video switchers as supported for the Control4 controller.
Media Controller supports four video switchers. HC-300 supports up to 2
video switchers. Home Theater Controller supports one video switcher and
therefore does not support the use of the multiple video switchers.
•Use the provided serial ports, cable, and "Installation" instructions to con-
nect the Sony video switcher directly to the HC-300 or Media Controller
serial ports. The Media Controller has a total of four serial ports, including
two DB9 connector ports and two pluggable terminal block ports. The HC-
300 has a total of two serial ports, both with DB9 connectors.
•The Sony video switchers must be connected directly to the Control4 con-
troller. No daisy chain connections are supported.
Configure the Sony Video Switcher within the
Control4 System
Use Composer software (Professional Edition) to configure the Sony
CAV-CVS12ES Component Video Switcher within the Control4 system.
Refer to the Composer User Guide for more details.
Warranty
Sony provides the warranty for the Sony CAV-CV12ES Component Video
Switcher. For more information, please see the enclosed Sony Warranty
