1. Overview
The SPC58XXADPT144S Rev. B mini module is an evaluation board supporting
STMicroelectronics SPC58xGxxE5, SPC58xCxxE5 and SPC58xBxxE5 microcontrollers in
eTQFP144 package with exposed pad down.
The mini module is designed to be connected onto the SPC57xxMB motherboard, offering a
mechanism for easy customer evaluation of the supported devices, and to facilitate hardware
and software development.
The mini module may be used as a stand-alone unit allows access to the MCU, but no access
to the I/O pins as any motherboard peripherals.
The mini module is default configured for Chorus 1M, 2M and 4M easily supports also
Chorus 6M simply changing the following 3 TH jumper: JR14, JR18 & JR19, with the only
drawback that some ports are not mapped/aligned properly.
To configure the full mini module for Chorus 6M and correctly map the port must change the
jumpers as shown in chapter 3.5 (Chorus 6M Configuration).

family of microcontrollers in eTQFP144 package with exposed pad down:

•Chorus 4M : SPC58xCxxE5
•Chorus 2M /Chorus 1M : SPC58xBxxE5

2. HARDWARE FEATURE
2.1 SPC58XXADPT144S Rev. B Mini module board features
The SPC58XXADPT144S Rev. B mini module board has the following features:
•Connector for external power supplies input (5V, 3.3V, 1.25V) used in stand-alone
mode.
•Reset button with driver and led indicator.
•Socket for device in eTQFP144 package with exposed pad down.
•Debug ports: 38-pin Mictor connector for Nexus level 3+, 14-pin header connector for
JTAG port and 10-pin header connector for JTAG/DigRF port (LFAST).
•40 Mhz crystal main oscillator with jumpers to optionally disconnect it
•8 Mhz oscillator with jumpers to optionally disconnect it
•Clock input through SMA connector to optionally disconnect it
•Jumpers for boot configuration
•2 X SAMTEC QSH series, 240 way connector to connect minimodule to Motherboard

3HARDWARE & JUMPER SETTINGS
3.1 Power supplies
When the mini module is plugged onto the motherboard, power is supplied directly by the
motherboard. In this setup, the external power supply input available on the minimodule
should NOT be used.
When the mini module is used as a stand-alone board, external power supplies must be used
(5V, 3.3V, 1.25V).
The following jumpers are used to configure the power supply (common for all supported
devices):

3.3 Reset Circuit
The minimodule supports different way to reset the microcontroller.
To use and perform the reset driving there are different jumper and switch:
