Assembling And Installing A Wardrobe Valet
Component Style Number 98551
NOTE: Shown on pages 2 thru 5 is a wardrobe valet being assembled and mounted onto a 25” wide structural panel
assembly. This procedure is typical when mounting the wardrobe valet on all structural panel assemblies 25” or wider
except where noted. The assembly procedures shown on pages 6 and 7 pertain only to mounting a wardrobe valet
onto structural panel assemblies 30” or wider.

1. Lay spanner panel onto a clean soft material
with shelf mounting holes facing up.
2. The upper and lower shelves are identical and
are placed onto the spanner panel. Secure each
shelf with (4) screws. Do not tighten!

3. Place back panel between upper and lower shelfs
with the lock plate retainers toward the top. Secure
back panel to upper and lower shelfs with (2) screws
each end. Center the top and bottom shelfs onto the
spanner panel and tighten all screws. Position and
secure purse hook and coat rod to top shelf with (2)
screws. NOTE: If you wish access from opposite side
of the wardrobe valet, place the back panel as indicated
with dotted lines.

4. Slip upper right and left hand hanger brackets under flange of top shelf. Press hanger brackets against edge of
shelf and secure with (2) screws each. Secure lower hanger brackets in the same manner. NOTE: If the wardrobe
valet is to be mounted onto a 30” structural panel or wider use only the upper and lower brackets near the back panel.
Retain unused hanger brackets for possible use later.
BACK PANEL
4a. Lock plate assembly
Slide lock plate under retainer and thru slot in back panel. Start No. 8 x 3/8 screw to hold lock plate in place.
The lock plate should be slid to the back position until the wardrobe valet is mounted on a structural panel. Slide
the lock plate to the forward position and secure by tightening the screw.

5. Insert bottom pan under front lip of bottom shelf and
secure with (2) screws. NOTE: At this point if the
wardrobe valet is to be mounted onto a structural panel
30” or wider proceed to page 6, step 7 of these directions.

6. Insert hanger brackets into notches on your structural
panel. After wardrobe valet is firmly attached it may be
necessary to adjust the glides.

7. Assemble glide and adjusting nut glide housing.

8. Position and secure glide assembly onto bottom shelf with (4) screws.

9. Remove base trim.

10. Insert hanger brackets into
notches of structural panel.

APPLY PRESSURE TO TABS

11. Hook retainer to bottom of structural
panel and at the same time place the
threaded portion into hole on glide housing.
Secure with wingnut.
