TROUBLESHOOTING ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Your Hoyer brand hydraulic lifter is warranted to be free of defects in aterials and
work anship for one (1) year after purchase by the original consu er/ owner.
Co ponents included in this warranty are as follows:
1. Lifter structure; base, ast, boo , and suspension cradle or swivel bar
2. Hydraulic pu p/ jack (for anual lifters)
3. Electronic control box, hand pendant, actuator, and battery (for power lifters)
ADDITIONAL WARRANTY
All other non-durable co ponents, such as rubber parts, plastic parts and painted sur-
faces, are warranted for 3 onths fro first consu er purchase. These are subject to
nor al wear and replace ent.
LIMITATIONS
1. We do not warrant da age due to:
a. Neglect, isuse or i proper installation or repair
b. Use of parts or changes not authorized by Sunrise Medical
c. Exceeding the specified weight li it of the lifter
2. This warranty is void if the original lifter serial nu ber tag/label is
re oved or altered.
3. This warranty applies in the USA only. Check with your supplier to find out if
international warranties apply.
WHAT WE WILL DO
Our sole liability is to repair or replace covered parts.
This is your only re edy for consequential da ages.
WHAT YOU MUST DO
1. Obtain fro us, while this warranty is in effect, prior approval for return or
repair of covered parts.
2. Contact Custo er Service at 1-800-333-4000 for shipping infor ation.
3. Pay the cost of labor to install or repair parts.
NOTICE TO CONSUMER
There are no other express warranties. To the extent per itted by law, any i plied
warranty (including a warranty of erchantability or fitness for a particular purpose) is
li ited to:
1. One (1) fro the first consu er purchase, and;
2. Repair or replace ent of the defective part only.
This warranty gives you certain legal rights. You ay also have other rights that vary
fro state to state.
Symptom
Handle ounting holes loosening or
enlarging.
Jack lowers with patient suspended.
Jack fails to lift to full height.
Oil leaking fro around piston.
Oil leaking around ri of top cap.
Unit will not lower.
Action
• Periodically oil the pivot point.
• Check to ake sure the pressure release
knob is co pletely closed.
• Check valve not sealing. Pu p handle
rapidly several ti es, then open pressure
release knob and pull down on boo .
Repeat two or three ti es.
• Release cartridge defective– lay jack on
its side. Re ove pressure release knob
cartridge and clean or replace.
• Air in oil under ra – pu p unit up as far
as it will go. Open pressure release knob
and pull down on boo to lowest posi-
tion. Repeat until lift raises to full height.
• Unit ay be low on oil– re ove jack
fro lift, collapse ra . Re ove socket
screw (located on top of top cap) and
put 1oz. of #10 weight hydraulic oil in at
a ti e until the jack ra oves the
proper distance.
NOTE– Proper a ounts of oil for a jack when co -
pletely e pty are 7 3/4 oz. for 12" stroke; 11 1/2 oz.
for 17" stroke; 3 3/4 oz. for 6" stroke; 12 1/2 oz. for
19" stroke.
• Tighten packing nut.
• After use, seal should assu e proper
shape. If oil continues to leak, cla p jack
base in vise with unit vertical; re ove
top cap and replace quad ring located in
top cap. DO NOT loosen or re ove reser-
voir tube fro base as this will break seal
around base, causing loss of oil in unit.
• Lay jack on its side. Re ove and clean
release cartridge aking sure s all
holes are cleaned out with pin or s all
dia eter wire.
• Replace release cartridge.
