If the cooker hood is to be used for basic ventilation in the kitchen, the cover plate needs to be replaced by an
adjuster plate, see fig. 7.
NOTE: The cooker hood must be supplied with damper which is tight in closed position without
opening for basic ventilation. This is especially important if the cooker hood is used together
with a heat recovery unit.
In the ventilation unit, extract from kitchen is led directly to the extract fan, and therefore no fumes/pollution is
led through the exchanger block. In order to obtain basic ventilation, the extract louver in the kitchen must be
connected to the duct leading from laundry room (wet rooms).
It is possible to adjust the minimum and normal speed by internal potentiometers located in the lamp
compartment. The potentiometers are adjusted by means of a screw driver as shown in fig. 8 where pos 1
controls the min speed and pos 2 the normal speed (step 2 on the speed regulator). For fan performances see
“Installation instructions” for VR 300 ECV/B under “Commissioning”.

Description and Use
For description and use of the ventilation system, see separate instructions provided with the ventilation unit.

When extract from the cooker is required (during cooking) open the damper in the cooker hood from switch
”A”. At the same time fan speed must be set to forced ventilation (step 3) from switch "B". Kitchen extract is by-
passing the exchanger block, and is led directly to the extract fan. The capacity of the extract fan is then
primarily used for extract from the cooker. However, a minor airflow will still go through the extract louvers. The
opening time of the damper in the cooker hood can be adjusted between 5 and 60 minutes. The damper will
close automatically when set time expires or can be closed manually by turning the damper switch to closed
position. At normal ventilation, the damper must be in closed position ( ).
NOTE!
Good energy efficiency is obtained by closing the damper manually as soon as possible after
finishing cooking.
Flaming under the cooker hood is not allowed. Enough air has to be supplied to the room when
the cooker hood is used together with other products that use other energy sources than
electrical energy, e.g. gas stoves, gas/fire places, wood/oil boilers etc.
