If you wish to stop the water before the end of
the cycle, press the hot water button again.

Depending on the model you have, to obtain
ambient water, follow the same procedure but
use the ambient water button, which produces
200ml of water automatically dispensed at
room temperature.
NB : If you would like to get ambient water
after the hot water has been running, fill half
a mug and discard it or wait for a minimum of
5 minutes.
Setting the cup quantity
Quick Cup Deluxe is already pre-programmed
to dispense 220ml of hot water and 200ml of
ambient water (depending on model).
To change the programmed amount :

Fill the water tank with cold water.

Push the water tank firmly into place.

To set up the hot water quantity, press and
hold the hot water button. Once the desired
amount of hot water is reached, release the
hot water button. The new hot water quantity
is now programmed.

If your model has an ambient water button,
to set the quantity repeat the above steps
pressing the ambient temperature button.
Descaling
Descaling should be carried out every
2 months (or after 500 cycles) or for models
with descaling indicator, descaling should be
done when the orange light flashes on the
control panel.

Place a 1.7 litre container under the nozzle.

Remove the Claris filter cartridge. Fill the tank
up to 1 litre with 1 part white vinegar to
3 parts water. (White vinegar is available from
hardware stores).

For models with descaling indicator:
•
Press and hold the hot and ambient water
buttons simultaneously for approximately
10 seconds.
•
The orange light will remain on during
descaling and white vinegar will dispense
intermittently into the 1.7 litre container,
descaling will last approximately 10 minutes.
•
At the end of the descaling cycle, the
orange indicator light will turn off.

For models with only one button and no
orange indicator:
•

Press the hot button several times to empty
the tank.

For all models:
•

Refill the water tank, and rinse the appliance
following the ‘Rinsing your appliance
section’.
NB : If the orange light flashes during use you may
need to descale the appliance as soon as possible.

A Good Cup of Coffee
Quick Cup Deluxe provides the water at the best
temperature to preserve the flavour and rich
aroma of your preferred coffee blend.
Quick Cuppa:
•
Just add a dash of hot milk to your coffee to
obtain a Macchiato.
•
Add 2 spoonfuls of coffee to a mug of hot
water for a rich Americano !
•
For a Granita De Caffe: whip up a cold coffee with
Quick Cup Deluxe and pour over crushed ice.
A Velvety Hot Chocolate Break
Put a few spoons of hot chocolate in the bowl,
press the red button, don’t forget biscuits and
marshmallow and just sit back and relax…
Tea Time !
Quick Cup Deluxe is very convenient for a quick
comforting cup of tea, particularly herbal and
speciality teas as all their essential flavours will be
preserved.
A Refreshing glass of water
Put some ice cubes in a glass, press the ambient
water button, add some lemon, and voilà!
You can also enjoy a fruity squash.
Pour a small amount of squash in a glass and
press the ambient water button!
And don’t forget... Never put anything else than
ambient water in the tank.
Also…
Get past the 3pm slump with pot noodles, instant
soup or any other snack. Prepare your instant
gravy or stock in just a few seconds.

Tea producers and consumers who live in
hard water areas are well aware of this
and it is a natural occurrence caused by
the oxygen in the air which oxidises some
of the the soluble materials in the brew
to form a film

Is it normal for the pump to start
and stop?
Yes
To obtain the hot water temperature,
the flow of water is regulated by the
pump.
There are particles in the water.
Cartridge has not been rinsed.
Before fitting a new Claris Filter
cartridge hold the new cartridge under
a tap and rinse it for 30 seconds under
running water to eliminate any carbon
residues. Then run a 220ml cycle of
water into a container and discard it.
Can I use my Quick Cup without
a filter?
Yes but for best results we recommend
the use of the Claris filter cartridge.

Important : safety instructions
Note: This appliance does not produce
boiling water. Therefore please check any
food or beverage instructions before using
this appliance for such things as baby food
and drinks. The hot water from this appliance
cannot be used for sterilising purposes.
This appliance produces very hot water.
Therefore, please take care when dispensing
the water in order to avoid scalding yourself.
•
Carefully read these operating instructions
before using the appliance for the first time and
keep them in a safe place: Tefal cannot be held
responsible for incorrect use.
•
Do not touch the downpipe when it is operating
as this will be hot.
•
Only plug the appliance into an earthed socket.
Check that the power supply voltage shown on
the appliance’s rating plate corresponds to that
of your installation.
•
Take care not to place the appliance on a hot
surface like a hot-plate or use it close to a
naked flame. The appliance should be placed on
a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface away from
water splashes.
•
Immediately take the plug out from the mains if
the appliance does not function correctly.
•
Do not pull the power supply cord to remove
the plug.
•
Do not let the power supply cord hang down
on the edge of a table or a work surface.
•
Do not place your hand or the power supply
cord on the hot parts of the appliance.
•
Never soak the appliance, the cord or electrical
plug in water or any other liquid.
•
To avoid any danger, do not use the appliance
if the power supply cord or plug are damaged.
You must have the power supply cord replaced
by a TEFAL authorised service centre.
•
Always refer to the instructions to de-scale the
appliance.
•
Protect the appliance against humidity and
frost.
•
Do not use the appliance if it does not operate
correctly or if it has been damaged - see Helpline
details on the back cover of this booklet.
•
Except for cleaning and scale removal in
accordance with the procedures for use of
the appliance, any investigations, repairs or
maintenance must be carried out by a TEFAL
authorised service centre.
•
Any error in electrical connection negates the
guarantee.
•
Unplug the appliance as soon as you have
finished using it for a while or when cleaning.
•
All appliances are subject to rigorous quality
inspection. Practical tests using appliances taken
at random are conducted and this may explain
any marks showing prior use.
•
You are advised not to use multiple sockets and/
or extension cables.
•
If you use an entire tank of water all at once
(approximately 1.7 litres), let the appliance rest
for 10 minutes before launching a new cycle.
•
Never put anything else but ambient water in
the tank.
Safety limits
This hot water dispenser must only be used with
water in the tank.
This product has been designed for domestic
use only. Any commercial use, inappropriate use
or failure to comply with the instructions, the
manufacturer accepts no responsibility and the
guarantee will not apply.
Preventing domestic accidents
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
Even slight burns can sometimes be serious for
children. As they grow up, teach your children
to take great care with hot liquids they may
encounter in the kitchen. Place the appliance
and power cord well behind the work surface
outside the reach of children and certain disabled
persons.
If an accident occurs, immediately apply cold
running water to the burn and call a medical
doctor if necessary.
To avoid accidents, do not carry your child or
baby when drinking or carrying a hot drink.
First Use - Rinsing your appliance

Unpack your appliance. Keep the Claris Filter cartridge (according to model) to one side.

Wash and dry the water tank. Fill the water
tank with cold water.

Place the water tank onto the appliance and
then close the lid onto the water tank. Press
the water tank firmly into place.

Place the appliance on a flat, stable heat-resistant
surface.

Plug the appliance in.

Place a container that holds approximately
1.7 litres under the nozzle.

Adjust the nozzle according to the height of
the container by pulling the rubber grip up or
pushing it down.

Press the hot water button, hot water will begin
to dispense from the spout. 220ml of hot water
will be dispensed automatically, repeat the
process until the water tank is empty.
NB: The noise and vibration during use is the pump
operating. This is normal.

When the container is almost full, discard the
water.
NB : A little water may splash from the nozzle. To
avoid this, we recommend you use a taller vessel or
hold the cup closer to the nozzle.
Fitting the Claris Filter cartridge
(according to model)

Unwrap the Claris Filter cartridge. Hold the
Claris Filter cartridge under a tap and rinse
it for 30 seconds under running water to
eliminate any carbon residues.

Note the month in which you begin to use
the cartridge by turning the upper ring on the
cartridge.
We would suggest that the month should be
the one showing in the left hand side of the
opening.

Fit the Claris Filter cartridge into the water tank by
making a quarter turn clockwise.

The Claris Filter cartridge should be replaced after
approximately 50 litres of water used, or after
approximately 6 weeks depending on frequency
of use. For models with cartridge change indicator,
change the cartridge when the blue light turns on.

Once you have changed the Claris Filter cartridge,
press and hold the hot and ambient buttons
simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds. The
reset is memorised and the blue light will turn off
(according to model).

Place a container under the nozzle and press the
hot water button. Run a 220ml cycle of water into
a cup and then discard it, in order to remove any
final carbon residues from the filter.
The benefits of using Claris Filter cartridge
You can use your Quick Cup without a cartridge but
for best results we recommend using a Claris filter
cartridge. The Claris Filter cartridge will only filter
the water as you dispense it, so you always have
fresh filtered water. The cartridge contains an anti-
lime substance and activated carbon that reduces
chlorine, impurities, lead, copper, pesticides etc that
are present in water. Minerals and trace elements
are preserved. You can purchase a cartridge - ref:

Using your appliance

water, briefly press the hot water button and you
will automatically obtain 220 ml of hot water.
