Voltage and Continuity Tester

Please read these instructions carefully before use and retain for future reference.
Failure to read the instruction manual or comply with warnings and references
within can result in serious bodily injury or damage to instrument.
This instrument is designed and manufactured in compliance with: CAT IV 600V double
insulation conforms to EU standards: EN61010-1/EN61010-031/EN61326.
• Check the test leads, probes and case insulation before using. If you nd any
breakage or abnormality, or you consider the device is broken, stop using the
device immediately.
• Only use replacement test leads and probes that are in compliance with IEC
61010-031, and rated CAT IV 600V.
• When using the test probes, keep your ngers behind the nger protection ring.
• Do not apply a voltage over 690V between + probe and ground.
• Test the instrument on a known voltage source prior to usage.
• Take caution when working voltages are above 75V DC or 50V AC rms.
• Do not connect the meter to voltage signals when the function is set to continuity.
• When a measurement has been completed, disconnect the testing probes from
the circuit under test.
• Do not use or store the Meter in a place of humidity, high temperature, explosive,
inammable and strong magnetic eld.
• Replace the batteries as soon as the low battery indicator appears on the display.
• Remove dead batteries from the meter or if it is not going to be used for a long
time.
• Never mix old and new batteries together, or different types of batteries.
• Never dispose of batteries in a re, or attempt to recharge ordinary batteries.
• Before replacing the battery, turn off the meter and disconnect all the test probes.
• To prolong battery life turn off the meter after use.

OPERATION
Function/self test
• Test the voltage tester on a known source before use.
• Connect test probes to the voltage source.
• An alert tone should be audible and the LED Rx/Ω (9) should illuminate.
• The voltage indicator LED’s operate whether batteries are tted or not but the work
light function and audible sounder requires batteries to function.
Voltage test
• Connect the test probes across the source under test.
• The voltage is indicated by the LED’s (4) and an audible tone is output.
• If the polarity is positive the “+” LED is lit and if the voltage is AC both “+” and “-”
are illuminated.
• The measured result is displayed by the LED voltage indicators which are
12V, 24V, 50V, 120V, 230V, 400V, and 690V. Voltages lower than 12V are not
displayed.

Single Pole Phase Test
• When carrying out single-pole phase test, touch the contact electrode (6) and
connect the instrument + test probe to the unknown source.
Note: gloves or other protective clothing may impair this function by preventing
connection to the contact electrode.
• An audible tone is generated to indicate the phase.
• Single pole phase test starts at 100V AC.
Note: The single pole phase test is not appropriate to determine whether a line is live
or not. Use the double pole voltage test for this requirement.
Continuity Test
Note: Ensure the circuit to be tested is not live and all capacitors have been
discharged. Perform a double pole voltage test to check before continuing.
• Connect both test probes across the item under test.
• An audible tone is generated and the Rx/Ω LED is illuminated to indicate
continuity.
Rotary Field Indication
• The rotary phase indication is always active. The symbols ◄L R► are always
displayed, however the rotary direction can only be determined within a three-
phase system.
• Connect the instrument + test probe with the phase L2 and the ground test probe
with the phase L1 for example.
• The instrument indicates the voltage between two external conductors.
• Touch the contact electrode (6) and the voltage and the rotary eld are displayed.
• R► signies that the assumed phase L1 is actually L1 and that assumed phase L2
is actually L2 - right rotary eld.
• ◄L signies that the assumed phase L1 is actually L2 and that assumed phase L2
is actually L1 - left rotary eld.
• When re-testing with exchanged test probes, the opposite symbol will be
illuminated.

Work Illumination
• This instrument is equipped with a work space illumination feature which makes
working under low lighting conditions easier.
• Press button (10) to turn on the light.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Warning: Only replace the battery after the test leads are disconnected from the
circuit under test.
• Replace the batteries when the signal sound is no longer audible, LEDs are no
longer illuminated, or work space lighting isn’t working.
• To replace the battery, using a screwdriver or the edge of a coin rotate the battery
cover counter clockwise and remove it.
• Remove and replace the batteries with the same type - 2pcs of AAA (LR03) noting
their polarity.
• Ret the battery cover, and lock into place by rotating clockwise.
• Clean the meter with a clean, soft cloth.
• Do not use any chemicals, abrasives or solvents that could damage the meter.
