INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

1. Characteristics
The walker consists of a shoe and two collateral, stabilizing splints with
hinged ROM system enabling angle adjustment. The orthosis is
equipped with material inner liner with CoolMax fabric which is air
permeable and removes excessive heat and moisture perfectly. The
walker is equipped with system of circumferential straps which enable
individual adjustment of stabilization force and with profiled anti-
sliding sole which facilitates the patient possibly physiological gait. The
model TGO-E BM-RP 611 is additionally equipped with pneumatic
stabilization.
2. Application
The walker is used in post-traumatic and post-operative rehabilitation
process in order to limit the range of mobility in ankle joint and to
improve functional activities. The orthosis stabilizes the foot and the
shin in plantarflexion or ankle joint flexion position in post-traumatic
injuries in the area of foot and shin.
Indications for use:
•Post-operative treatment
•Twist and dislocation of ankle joint
•Achilles tendon rupture
•As an alternative for plaster cast immobilization
•Fractures in the area of foot, upper and lower ankle joint

Contraindications:
Do not use in case of:
•Skin abrasion
•Eczema
•Wound and other skin injuries
•After application of warming gel or ointment
Note! In case of varicose veins the usage of the air walker is restricted.
Contact with attending physician to determine whether the product
may be used together with compression stockings.
3. Notes

4. Fitting instruction
•Unfasten circumferential straps and pin out inner liner.
•To adjust the angle of flexion, take out locking stops which are
mounted in ROM system on the left and right side of the orthosis.
Set required angular value and lock by placing the stops into
appropriate openings for angular values.
oPlantar Flexion 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°
oDorsi Flexion 0°, 15°, 30°, 45°
o0° intermediate (neutral) position
•After setting the angle, pin inner liner.
•Put the orthosis on in sitting position with leg slightly bent in knee
joint. If necessary, use included additional air pads. Fasten the
inner liner, adjust and fasten circumferential straps by means of
Velcro.
•Pneumatic stabilization in the model TGO-E BM-RP 611 is adjusted
with the use of integrated pump and release valve which are in
the front part of the orthosis. While pumping the valve should be
tightened; to do this, turn the valve (inflate) clockwise. To release
the air, turn the valve (deflate) counterclockwise.

•Check the correctness of fitting in standing position. If necessary
adjust the force of circumferential straps attachment and
pneumatic stabilization in the model TGO-E BM-RP 611 (by release
valve – reduction of stabilization force; or by pump – increase of
stabilization force).

5. Maintenance
•Circumferential straps and inner liner can be washed by hand or in
washing machine at temperature of 30oC. Do not tumble,
chlorinate, iron, bleach, dry cleaning, use tumble dryer.
•Ensure the Velcro is fastened in order not to destroy the material.
•Dry at room temperature far from intensive heat source.
•Clean the PVC splint with damp cloth with soap.
•Dry the splint thoroughly.
6. Storage and transport conditions
Device should not be exposed to direct sunlight, water or moisture.
