The equipment is only intended for HOME USE and is NOT INTENDED FOR COMMERCIAL, INSTITUTIONAL AND/
OR STUDIO FACILITIES USE.
Contact TROJAN with any questions regarding this classication. It is recommended that all users of TROJAN be informed
of the following information prior to use.

TROJAN recommends that all tness equipment be used in a supervised area. It is recommended that the equipment be
located in an access controlled area. Control is the responsibility of the owner. Keep children away from all equipment.
Parents or others supervising adults must provide close supervision of children if the equipment is used in the presence
of children.
INSTALLATION
TROJAN recommends that all equipment:
• Besecuredtoorsetuponasolid,levelsurfacetostabiliseandeliminaterockingortippingoverduringtraining.
• Besetupinsideyourhomeawayfrommoistureanddust(theequipmentisnotdesignedforoutdooruse).
• Besetupwithsufcientventilationtoensureproperoperation.
• Besetupwithsufcientspacearoundtheequipmentsothatallexercisescanbecompletedsafely.Itisrecommended
thatthereshouldbeatleast1mofspacearoundtheequipmentwhereaccessisrequiredtoexercise.
• Beinstalledbyourteamofinstallers.

• Donotusetheequipmentinanywayotherthanasdesignedorintendedbythemanufacturer.Itisimperativethat
TROJAN equipment is used properly to avoid injury.

the Bolts using the S6 Allen Key.
• InserttheHandPulseSensorWires(49)intotheholeon
the Handlebar Post (7) and then pull them out of the top
end of the Handlebar Post (7).
• AttachtheHandlebar(8)ontotheHandlebarPost(7)with
twoM8x15Bolts(19)andtwoØ16xØ8x1.5Curved
Washers (15) that were previously removed.Tighten bolts
with the S6 Allen Key.

(57)tothewiresthatcomefromtheComputer(56).Tuckwiresintothe
Handlebar Post (7).
• AttachtheComputer(56)ontothetopendoftheHandlebarPost(7)
withfourM5x10Bolts(42)thatwerepreviouslyremoved.Tightenbolts
withtheMultiHexToolprovided.
Adjusting the Tension Control Knob
• Toincreasetheload,turnthetensioncontrolknobinaclockwise
direction.
• Todecreasetheload,turnthetensioncontrolknobinacounter
clockwisedirection.
Adjusting the Adjustable Leveler
• Turntheadjustablelevelontherearstabiliserasneededtolevelthe
uprightbike.
Adjusting the Seat Height
• TurntheSeatPostKnobinacounterclockwisedirectionuntilitcanbe
pulled out. Pull out the Seat Post Knob and then slide the Seat Post up or
downtothesuitableposition.LocktheSeatPostinplacebyreleasingthe
Seat Post Knob and sliding the Seat Post up or down slightly until the Seat
PostKnob“pops”downintothelockedposition.TightentheSeatPost
Knobinaclockwisedirection.
NOTE:Whenadjustingtheheightofseatpost,makesuretheSeatPost
bushingdoesnotexceedthemarklineontheseatpost.

5. COMPUTER FUNCTIONS
BUTTON FUNCTIONS:
MODE: Press the MODE button to select each function of the computer.
PressandholdtheMODEbuttonfor3seconds,alldatavalueswillcleartozero
excepttheODO(ODOMETER)datavalues.
SET: Press the SET button to set the data values for TIME, DISTANCE, CALORIES, or
PULSE for target pre-setting.
RESET: Press the RESET button to clear the data values for TIME, DISTANCE, or
CALORIEStozero.PresstheRESETbuttontocleardatavaluesforTIME,
DISTANCE,CALORIES,orPULSEtozerofortargetpre-setting.
PressandholdtheRESETbuttonfor3seconds,alldatavalueswillcleartozero
excepttheODO(ODOMETER)datavalues.
COMPUTER FUNTIONS:
AUTOON/OFF: Whenyoustarttoexerciseorpressanykeyonthecomputer,thecomputerwillturnon.Ifyou
leave the equipment for 256 seconds (4 m 26 sec), the power will turn off automatically.
SCAN: PresstheMODEbuttonuntilthescreendisplaysSCAN;thecomputerwillautomaticallyscanthe
functions of TIME, SPEED, DIST (DISTANCE), CAL (CALORIES), ODO (ODOMETER) and P
(PULSE) every 6 seconds.
TIME: Displaysyourelapsedworkouttimeinminutesandseconds.Whenyoustarttoexercise,time
starts counting up from 0:00 to 99:59 minutes in 1 second increments.You may also pre-set a
target time in STOP mode before training.To set TIME press the MODE button until you see the
TIME on the screen. Press the SET button,TIME will begin ashing. Press the SET button to
change the time, each time you press the SET button the TIME should change by 1 minute. Press
theRESETbuttontoclearthetargettimetozero.Thepre-settargettimerangeisfrom00:00to
99:00minutes.Onceyoupre-settargettimeandthenstarttoexercise,timestartscountingdown
from pre-set target time to 0:00 in1 second increments.When the pre-set target time counts down
to 0:00, time will start to count up immediately and the computer will begin beeping to remind you.
SPEED: Display the current training speed.
DIST(DISTANCE): Displaystheaccumulativedistancetraveledduringworkout.Whenyoustarttoexercise,distance
startscountingupfrom0.0to999.9kmin0.1kmincrements.Youmayalsopre-setatargetdistance
in STOP mode before training.To set DISTANCE press the MODE button until you see DIST
on the screen. Press the SET button, DIST will begin ashing. Press the SET button to change
thedistance,eachtimeyoupresstheSETbuttonDISTANCEshouldchangeby1.0km.Pressthe
RESETbuttontoclearthetargetdistancetozero.Thepre-settargetdistancerangeisfrom0.0
to999.0km.Onceyoupre-setatargetdistanceandthenstarttoexercise,distancestartscounting
down from the pre-set target distance to 0.0.When the pre-set target distance counts down to 0.0,
the distance will start to count up immediately and the computer will begin beeping to remind you.
CAL(CALORIES): Displaysthetotalaccumulatedcaloriesburnedduringworkout.Whenyoustarttoexercise,
calories start counting up from 0.0 to 999.9 calories.You may also pre-set target calories in the
STOP mode before training.To set CALORIES press the MODE button until you see the CAL on
the screen. Press the SET button, CAL begin ashing. Press the SET button to change the calories,
each time you press the SET button CALORIES change by 1.0 calorie. Press the RESET button to
clearthetargetcaloriestozero.Thepre-settargetcaloriesrangeisfrom0.0to999.0calories.
Onceyoupre-settargetcaloriesandthenstarttoexercise,caloriesstartcountingdownfromthe
pre-set target calories to 0.0.

5. COMPUTER FUNCTIONS (CONT. )
When the pre-set target calories count down to 0.0, calories will start to count up immediately
and the computer will begin beeping to remind you. (This data is a rough guide for comparison of
differentexercisesessionsandshouldnotbeusedasmedicaladvice).
ODO (ODOMETER): Displays the total accumulative distance traveled.The data values of the ODO can be cleared to
zerobypressingandholdingtheMODEorRESETbuttonfor3seconds.Ifyoutakethebatteries
outofthecomputer,theODOdatavalueswillcleartozero.
P (PULSE): Displays your current heart rate gures after you grip the handlebar sensors with both your
handsduringexercise.Toensurethepulsereadoutismoreprecise,pleasealwaysholdontothe
handlebar grip sensors with two hands instead of just with one hand. You may also pre-set target
heart rate in the STOP mode before training.To set PULSE press the MODE button until you
see the P on the screen. Press the SET button, target heart rate will begin ashing. Press the SET
buttontopre-settargetheartrate.PresstheRESETbuttontoclearthetargetheartratetozero.
The pre-set heart rate range is from 40 to 240 beats per minute. Once you pre-set target heart
rateandthenstarttoexercise,pleasegripthehandlebarsensorswithbothyourhandsduring
exercise.Iftheheartratedetectedisgreaterthanthetargetheartrate,thecomputerwillbegin
beeping to notify you.

HOW TO INSTALL THE BATTERIES:
1. Remove the battery cover at the rear of the computer.
2. Placetwo“SIZE-AA”batteriesintothebatteryhousing.
3. Insurebatteriesarecorrectlypositionedandbatteryspringsmakepropercontactwiththebatteries.
4. Re-install the battery cover.
5. If the display is illegible or only partial segments appear, remove batteries and wait 15 seconds before reinstalling.

7. CONDITIONING GUIDELINES
Howyoubeginyourexerciseprogramdependsonyourphysicalcondition.Ifyouhavebeeninactiveorareseverely
overweight,youmuststartslowlyandincreaseyourtimeontheequipment;afewminutesperworkout.Initially,youmay
beabletoexerciseonlyforafewminutesinyourtargetzone,however,youraerobictnesswillimproveoverthenextsix
toeightweeks.Don’tbediscouragedifittakeslonger.It’simportanttoworkatyourownpace.Ultimately,you’llbeable
toexercisecontinuouslyfor30minutes.Thebetteryouraerobictness,theharderyouwillhavetoworktostayinyour
targetzone.Pleaseremembertheseessentials:
•Haveyourdoctorreviewyourtraininganddietprogramstoadviseyouofaworkoutroutineyoushouldadopt.
•Beginyourtrainingprogramslowlywithrealisticgoalsthathavebeensetbyyouandyourdoctor.
•Monitoryourpulsefrequently.Establishyourtargetheartratebasedonyourageandcondition.
EXERCISE INTENSITY
Tomaximizethebenetsofexercising,itisimportanttoexercisewiththe
proper intensity.The proper intensity level can be found by using your heart
rateasaguide.Foreffectiveaerobicexercise,yourheartrateshouldbe
maintainedatalevelbetween65%and85%ofyourmaximumheartrate
asyouexercise.Thisisknownasyourtargetzone.Youcanndyourtarget
zoneinthetablebelow.
Duringtherstfewmonthsofyourexerciseprogram,keepyourheartratenearthelowendofyourtargetzoneasyou
exercise.Afterafewmonths,yourheartratecanbeincreasedgraduallyuntilitisnearthemiddleofyourtargetzoneas
youexercise.
Tomeasureyourheartrate,stopexercisingbutcontinuemovingyourlegsorwalkingaroundandplacetwongerson
yourwrist.Takeasixsecondheartbeatcountandmultiplytheresultsby10tondyourheartrate.Forexample,ifyour
six-secondheartbeatcountis14,yourheartrateis140beatsperminute.(Asixsecondscountisusedbecauseyour
heartratewilldroprapidlywhenyoustopexercising.)
Adjusttheintensityofyourexerciseuntilyour
heart rate is at the proper level.

8.WARM-UP AND COOL-DOWN
WORKOUT GUIDELINES
Eachworkoutshouldincludethefollowingthreeparts:
Awarm-up,consistingof5to10minutesofstretchingandlightexercise.Aproperwarm-upincreasesyourbody
temperature,heartrate,andcirculationinpreparationforexercise.
Trainingzoneexercise,consistingof20to30minutesofexercisingwithyourheartrateinyourtrainingzone.
(Note:Duringtherstfewweeksofyourexerciseprogram,donotkeepyourheartrateinyourtrainingzonefor

1. The upright bike wobbles when in use.
