The switchboard is only used in 2VOICE system to perform:
–communication function to/from apartment stations, with capability
to store not answered calls (up to 50);
–concierge service (with or without local answer of calls coming from
main call stations and addressed to apartment stations).
The switchboard is available in a table-top version only.
To connect the switchboard, use the power supply supplied with the
product.
After conguration, the switchboard is ready for all system users.

KEYPAD
The touchscreen keypad includes buttons for entering apartment
station calling codes, special codes, calling station door opening
codes and user name searches/entry. The switchboard also has ve
physical buttons on the side for performing functions. Five digital
buttons are provided on the right side bar of the display for easier and
faster switchboard use. The digital buttons perform exactly the same
functions as the ve physical buttons by the side.
RINGER
The ringer is electronic and modulated. The volume can be adjusted
as described in the “Ringer volume” paragraph.
DISPLAY
The switchboard is equipped with a 10” TFT-LCD (Wide Angle)
capacitive colour touchscreen display.
The switchboard display is back-lit with a 60 second timeout. The
light will come on when any button is pressed or when a call or alarm
signal is received.

INSTALLATION
By default, the switchboard is congured for table top installation,
with the specic support which ensures the best inclination.
Connect the RJ11 wire of the handset to the port on the back of
the switchboard.
USB 2VOICE
The wiring junction box must be wall mounted with the provided
double-sided adhesive tape or with screws and screws anchors.
After establishing the connections on the telephone socket, connect
the power cord to the 2VOICE port of the switchboard, located on
the back of the device, then connect the other end of the cord to the
socket.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
TYPES OF USE
The switchboard operates according to its conguration during
the installation phase and to its operating status. The possible
switchboard operation modes are described below.
SWITCHBOARD OFF
When the switchboard is o, it operates as it was not present in the
system. Calls coming from main call stations directly reach apartment
stations. Calls coming from apartment stations and addressed to the
switchboard are lost.

SWITCHBOARD ON
When the switchboard is turned on, it resumes DAY or NIGHT
operation mode, previously congured.
NIGHT SERVICE
In this condition, the concierge service is disabled and calls
coming from main stations are directly sent to apartment stations.
The switchboard can receive calls from apartment stations; if not
answered, calls are saved in the memory. The switchboard can call
any apartment station.

DAY SERVICE
In this condition, the switchboard performs the concierge service,
intercepting calls coming from main call stations and addressed to
apartment stations. The switchboard can receive calls from apartment
stations; if not answered, calls are saved in the memory (up to 50). The
switchboard can call any apartment station.

TURNING ON AND OFF THE SWITCHBOARD
Case 1: switchboard without access password.
Press the power button (1) to turn the switchboard on. The following
page will appear on the display:
The switchboard will start working according to the mode used when
it was switched o after two seconds. The LED on the power button
(1) lights up green when the switchboard is in DAY mode. The LED on
the power button (1) lights up blue when it is in NIGHT mode.
Hold down the power button (1) pressed for longer than 3 seconds to
switch o the switchboard display.
Case 2: switchboard with access password.
Press the power button (1) to turn the switchboard on. The following
page will appear on the display:
After 2 seconds, the following screen is displayed:
Key in the access password programmed by the installer and press
OK
to conrm. The switchboard starts operating in the mode active
before it was turned o.
The LED on the power button (1) lights up green when the switchboard
is in DAY mode. The LED on the power button (1) lights up blue when
it is in NIGHT mode.
The message “Wrong password !!!” appear on the display if you enter
an incorrect password.
The switchboard display will turn o if 1 minute elapses from power-on
without entering the password.
HOMEPAGE
The various switchboard functions can be accessed from the
homepage.
Main call stations auto-on.
Call to an apartment station using the code.
Name repository and calling a user.
Code management for special services (if a device
Ref.1083/80 is present in the system).
Apartment station missed calls log.
Switchboard settings.
DAY / NIGHT MODE SWITCHING
Press the DAY/NIGHT switching button on the display to switch
between DAY and NIGHT operating modes.
In the DAY mode, the LED on the power button (1) lights up green and
the icon appears on the switching button. In NIGHT mode,
the LED on the power button (1) lights up blue and the icon
appears on the switching button.
STANDBY
The display is o in stand-by. Touch anywhere on the display to
display the homepage.

A USER
Press the button on the homepage to open the following page:
where:
0001: progressive index of the selected name
0006: total number of names in the repository
BRUNI: user name
You can search for the name by scrolling through the list with the
or buttons or by pressing a key on the alphanumeric keypad to
go to the rst user whose name starts with the selected letter (for
example, to search for the name ROSSI, access the repository and
then press the “R” key and search for the user with the buttons
or ) .
To call the selected used, pick up the handset and press the button
.
CALL FROM APARTMENT STATIONS

BRUNI: Caller’s name.
The switchboard attendant can answer the call by picking the handset
up; if he does not answer within 10 seconds, the call is stored in the
call memory (50 max.).
The following icon will appear on the display when the call is
answered to indicate that a conversation has been established with
the apartment station.
STORED CALLS COMING FROM APARTMENT
STATIONS
If there is at least one call stored in the missed calls log, the button to
access the missed calls log will change colour on the homepage and
a red dot will appear as an alert.
Press the button to open the following page:
where:

case of logical code)
(*) NNNN indicates the logical code (4 or 6 digits) assigned
to the apartment station.
BRUNI: Caller’s name.
Use buttons or to scroll through the list of missed calls (the
total number of stored calls is 50).
When the memory is full, no more calls are stored in the
memory.
After selecting a call in the memory, you can contact the user by
picking up the handset and pressing the button .
In this case, the alert will be deleted automatically from the memory.
The alert symbol will no longer be visible on the homepage and the
missed calls button will return to its default state .
To delete a call indication manually, select it using the buttons or
, press the button .

CALLING AN APARTMENT STATION USING ITS
CODE
Pressing the button on the homepage to call to an apartment
station.
The following will appear on the display:
Enter a physical code or a logical code of an apartment station using
the keypad.
Initial 0 of a code can be omitted.
Pick up the handset and press the button to make the call.
After the call has been sent to an apartment station, the display shows:
where:
00000: The called user’s physical code (LNNN* - in case of logical
code).
(*) NNNN indicates the logical code (4 or 6 digits) assigned
to the apartment station.
BRUNI: Called user’s name.
When the switchboard establishes a communication with the called
user, the display shows the following screen:

BUSY SIGNAL
When the switchboard makes a call but the system is busy, the
following screen will appear for 2 seconds:
CALL FROM MAIN STATION
During concierge service in DAY mode (intercepting calls from
main stations and forwarding them to the apartment stations), the
switchboard will ring when it receives a call from a main call station
and the following page will appear on the display:

00: Main call station number (00-03).
: Symbol showing the status of the communication that can
be:
When the switchboard has not yet answered the
call.
When the switchboard is in communication with
the call station.
When the switchboard has sent the call to the
apartment station.
When the switchboard is communicating with
an apartment station.
When the switchboard has put the main call
station into communication with an apartment
station.
00000: The called user’s physical code.
BRUNI: Called user’s name.
: Button for modifying the following video parameters:
- Brightness
- Contrast
- Colour
: Button for zooming in or out on the image, changing the
display from 4:3 to 16:9
: Button for displaying any additional cameras connected to
the main station.
The following screen will appear on the display after answering a call
from a main call station:
From this condition, the switchboard operator will be able to:
• contact the called user by pressing the button
OK

• contact users by pressing the button and entering the
physical or logical code followed by pressing button ;
• contact users by pressing the button and selecting a name
from the repository followed by pressing the button .
After having established a contact with a user, the switchboard
operator can:
• go back to the call station by pressing the button ;
From this condition, the switchboard can re-establish
communication with the user by pressing the button .
• put the call station into communication with the user by pressing
the button .
From the latter condition, the switchboard cannot
re-establish communication with the call station or with the
user.
DOOR LOCK RELEASE FUNCTIONS
The switchboard allows the opening of any pedestrian door or
driveway associated with the main or secondary call station at any
time.
OPENING THE MAIN PEDESTRIAN DOOR AND DRIVEWAY
The following 2 conditions are possible:
1) After a call coming from a main call station:
When the switchboard is performing the concierge service in DAY
mode and is in communication with a main call station, the attendant
can:
• Press the button to open the pedestrian door of the main
station from where the call was originated;
• Press the button to open the driveway of the main station from
where the call was originated.
2) In any other situation:
When the switchboard is NOT in conversation, press the button
to open the pedestrian door of a main call station.
The following page will appear on the display:
enter the number of the main calling station (0-3) and press the
pedestrian button

to open the door.
When the switchboard is NOT in conversation, to open the driveway
of a main call station simply press the button .

OPENING THE SECONDARY PEDESTRIAN DOOR AND DRIVEWAY
When the switchboard is NOT in conversation, to open the pedestrian
door of a secondary call station simply hold the button pressed
for 4 seconds. The following page will appear on the display:
enter in the address of the riser of competence of the secondary call
station (00-31) and enter number of the secondary call station (0-1)
and press the button

to open the pedestrian door.
In this example, the pedestrian door is connected to the secondary
call station with riser address 15 and secondary call station number
0 is opened.
When the switchboard is NOT in conversation, to open the driveway
of a secondary call station simply hold the button pressed for 4
seconds. The following page will appear on the display:
enter in the address of the riser of competence of the secondary call
station (00-31) and enter number of the main call station (0-1) and
press the button

to open the driveway.
In this example, the driveway is connected to the secondary call
station with competence riser address 15 and secondary call station
number 0 was opened.
MANAGEMENT OF CODES FOR SPECIAL
SERVICES
The switchboard is enabled to manage electric actuators by using
decoders for special services Ref. 1083/80.
On the homepage, press the button to open the following page:
enter the special actuator code (1-255) and press the button
OK
to
conrm.
After pressing button
OK
, the display returns to the homepage.
Alternatively, the programmable function buttons (F1-F6) can be
programmed to directly control special decoders (see “Function
buttons” in the “Conguration” chapter).
OPEN DOOR INDICATIONS
The switchboard is provided with a button for accessing the list of
the doors left open. The open door indication appears on the display
by means of a red dot as an alert on the button. The service is related
to the status of the SP terminal of the call stations and requires a door
open sensor.
The following operating states are possible:
: all the main and the secondary doors are closed;
: on one or more main or secondary door is still open. The door
open status is signalled to the call stations only if the door is
kept open for longer than 30 seconds.
When the red alert icon is present, press the button to access the
list of the doors left open:
In the example, the indication shows that the door of the secondary
call station with riser address 13 and secondary call station number
1 is open.
Use the buttons / or / to scroll the list of
open doors.

AUTO-ON FUNCTION
The switchboard can automatically switch on main stations. This
means that the switchboard attendant can establish a video
connection (and also audio, if required) with a main call station even if
no one has called him from that station.
To use the auto-on function, press the button on the homepage.
The picture framed by the main call station 0 will appear on the display.
: Button to display any additional cameras of the main call
station 0 and then the other main call stations.
: Button for modifying the following video parameters:
- Brightness
- Contrast
- Colour
: Button for zooming in or out on the image, changing the
display from 4:3 to 16:9.
If the attendant wants to establish an audio communication with the
main call station which is sending images, he can pick the handset up,
as if the switchboard had been called.
KEYPAD LOCK ACTIVATION / DEACTIVATION
If the operator needs to leave the workstation, the keypad lock can
be activated to locks the display and the physical side keys. Hold the
button pressed for 5 seconds. The switchboard will beep twice
3 seconds apart and the following screen will appear on the display:
KEYBOARD LOCKED
If the keypad is locked, the switchboard does not execute commands
from the keypad, included DAY/NIGHT service switching and turning
o. To deactivate the keypad lock, hold the physical button associated
with the digital button pressed until the homepage appears on
the display.
The physical button to unlock the switchboard starts
blinking when the keypad is locked.
The keypad lock condition is kept even if the switchboard is
unpowered and then powered.
CALL DIVERSION FUNCTION TO CORDLESS
PHONE
It is possible to temporarily divert the switchboard call reception
service (according to the operating status day/night) to a cordless
phone connected to an interface Ref. 1083/67, suitably connected
to the system and congured. To do so, press function button F4 or
F5 or F6.
The function buttons F4, F5 and F6 must be previously
programmed for the function (see the “Function buttons”
paragraph the “Conguration” chapter).
The display shows:
where:
10001 is the physical code of the interface Ref. 1083/67 which
manages the call diversion. In this condition, the telephone connected
to 1083/67 can only answer the calls coming from apartment stations.
If during diversion the switchboard operating status is “day”, from
this telephone the attendant can also answer calls coming from main
call stations and open the door. In any case, calls can not be diverted
to apartment stations. If the “forward call to cordless” function is
active, the function can only be deactivated from the switchboard by
pressing the same function button used to activate the forwarding
function.

DISPLAYING CODES AND NAMES IN CASE OF
LOGICAL CODES OPERATING MODE
If the switchboard is congured with logical codes, in all screens with
user codes, these are displayed with their logical code preceded by
“L”. If the code can not be displayed, the respective physical code is
displayed (i.e. without the prex “L”).
For example, if a call is received from the main station 0 which has
called the user of the column 14 with dip switch set to value 123:
–if the received physical code 14123 in the switchboard directory is
associated to the user BRUNI with logical code 1000, the display
shows:
–if the received physical code 14123 in the switchboard directory is
NOT associated to any user, the display shows:
CONFIGURATION
Press the button on the homepage to enter the conguration
menu.
The following page will appear on the display:
Press the button to quit the conguration menu.
Either way, the switchboard times out the conguration after 35
seconds of inactivity.
Use and to scroll the list of parameters.
Select a parameter on the display to show the setting screen for the
selected parameter.
Press the button to return to the conguration menu after selecting
a parameter.
The parameters in the conguration menu are described below.
LANGUAGE
The language of the switchboard interface can be selected on this
page.
Press the desired language, then press the conguration button

BUSY TIME
The value set in this screen denes the assured communication time,
starting from the moment of the answer to a call.
8 dierent timings can be set: 1s, 10s, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s.
This value must be the same as that congured in system call stations.
To change the busy time, press one of the 8 times in the box .

CALL REPEAT (S+, S-)
In this screen the user can dene if the ringer repeat must be activated
or not and if this must be activated only for special call types; the
following screen appears:

NO Call repeat on S+ and S- disabled
EX Call repeat on S+ and S- enabled only for calls coming from
main call stations
IN Call repeat on S+ and S- enabled only for calls coming from
apartment stations
A Call repeat on S+ and S- enabled for all the calls

INTERRUPTING A COMMUNICATION (INT. COMM.)
In this screen the user can dene if the interruption of a intercom call or
autoinsertion during o-hook waiting time or assured communication
time must be enabled or not.
When a intercom call is in progress or while the auto-on function is in
progress, with or without audio, the concerned riser or more in general
the system parts in busy mode may be interrupted by a call from the
call station or not according to the conguration of this parameter.
To set this parameter to YES, press the respective box and then
press
OK
to conrm the selection and go back to the conguration
menu.
This value must be the same as that congured in system call stations.
POWER-ON PASSWORD
In this screen the user can set the password required when the
switchboard is turned on.
Press on the numeric keypad to enter the password. The password
can be composed by 6 numeric characters max.
If the user does not want to protect the switchboard power-on with a
password, set it to 000000.
After setting the password, press the conguration button

USER CODES TYPE
This page can be used to set the type of user code you want to use
(physical or logical).
–physical code: users call each other with a 5-digit code formed as
follows: CCNNN, where CC is the riser (00 to 31) and NNN is the
apartment number (000 to 127);
–logical code: users are called using a 1 to 4 digit number between
1 and 9999 or a 1 to 6 digit number between 1 and 999999. To use
the logical codes, the names must be programmed by assigning
the logical calling code to the physical code of the apartment.
The switchboard is set with Physical user codes by default.
Select the type of user code you want to display by pressing on
the respective box , then press the button

associated to a physical code in the directory.

FUNCTION BUTTONS
In the switchboard there are 6 programmable function buttons (F1 ÷
F6). The following may be associated to the function buttons:
• a special code to activate the special decoder Ref. 1083/80
• a code used to divert a call to a telephone managed by the interface
Ref. 1083/67.
The programmable function button settings page is as follows:

NAME MANAGEMENT
This page can be used to insert, edit and delete a user from the
repository from the device.
• Press the INS button to enter a name.
Using the alphanumeric keypad, enter the physical code followed
by the button

, the logical code (not needed if the device is
programmed to operate with physical codes) followed by button

and nally, enter the user name followed by the button

When names are being entered, the following congurations are not
accepted by the system:
–2 users with the same name

This function can be used to reset the switchboard to the factory
settings.
Press the YES button to reset to default settings. This operation will
not clear the name repository. Press the NO button to go back to the
conguration menu.

PROGRAMMING VIA PC
The switchboard is provided with a USB port for easy programming of
conguration data and name directory.
Follow the procedure below to program from the PC.
1. Using the USB cable, connect the switchboard to the PC on which
the 2Voice_PC software is installed (downloadable from www.
urmet.com).

2. Launch the 2Voice_PC software on your PC.
3. On the switchboard, enter the conguration menu and select the
“Busy time” parameter.
4. Proceed by programming as illustrated in the 2Voice_PC software
instruction manual.
5. After programming, the switchboard restarts.

SWITCHBOARDS IN MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE
MODE (X-OR)
INTRODUCTION
Below are all instructions how to install two switchboards in mutually
exclusive mode, i.e. one active switchboard at a time in the same
system.
In detail, the active switchboard can transfer system competences to
the inactive switchboard, which remains listening in stand-by.
Competencies are the functions performed by the switchboard in
DAY or NIGHT mode.
This service is only available for the types of installation described in
the “Permitted system types” chapter.
SYSTEM PARAMETER CONFIGURATION
A univocal ID must be assigned to each switchboard to be able to use
them in the same system. For correct operation, make sure that the IN
RISER parameter is set to NO for each switchboard.
WARNING! Competences will not be transferred if either switchboard
is not set correctly.
To access the switchboard parameters conguration menu
refer to the “Conguration” chapter.
Subsequently, always in the conguration menu, select the SWI ID #
parameter and dene the identication of each switchboard.
The identication (ID CODE) of one switchboard must be equal to 00,
while the other switchboard must be set to 01.

To set the ID CODE, press the code on the numeric keypad and then
press the button to conrm

WARNING! The ID coherent setting of the switchboards is essential
for correct operation of the two devices in the system.
The SWI ID # parameter must be set to 00 in systems in which only
one switchboard is used. This is the default parameter setting, i.e. the
one which will be set after restoring the device.
COMPETENCE TRANSFER FROM ACTIVE TO
INACTIVE SWITCHBOARD
This service is useful in installations in which two switchboard
operators need to work alternatively from dierent locations.
In these instructions:
• the active switchboard is the one with competencies in the
system
• the inactive switchboard is the other device which is not
performing any function (but which is listening and is ready to
accept transfer of competences)
The active switchboard may be:
• in stand-by (display o and power button on green or blue
according to the selected DAY or NIGHT mode);
• on in day or night mode (display o and power button on green or
blue according to the selected DAY or NIGHT mode).
The inactive switchboard has only one operating mode and can only
receive competences (if required to do so by the active switchboard).
The inactive switchboard may be:
• in stand-by (display o and power button ashing green)
WARNING! Only the switchboard which is active and on can
transfer competencies to the inactive switchboard.
Transfer of competences can be requested by the active switchboard
when it is in stand-by mode, i.e. is not performing an activity (e.g.
incoming or outbound calls, auto-on etc.).
Competences can be transferred from the switchboard which is
active and on Homepage.
