Thank you for ordering the VeriFone V240m payment terminal!
Your terminal is currently locked for security reasons. Before first use, you will be required to
activate it. This quick guide will explain what to do to unlock your device ready to take
transactions.
N.B. You will require your Merchant Number for this process which can be found within your
welcome pack.
If you require assistance, please contact your merchant helpdesk for support.

Plug the power supply into the power slot of the
V240m standard charging only base unit. If
purchased.
The base unit will then show a flashing white LED
while it boots up. This will eventually become solidly
illuminated.

You can now place the V240m terminal onto the base
unit.
The V240m will start booting up (provided the power
supply is plugged into a main socket).

You will be presented with the “Terminal Locked”
screen. Using the terminal keypad, key in your
Merchant Number as the password and press the
green [ENTER] key on the keypad to confirm.

If the password is correct, you will be presented
with these screens.
Press the green [ENTER] button to proceed through
both screens.

You will then be presented with the main screen.

Now, let’s check that the communications work.
Touch the main logo at the top of the screen to access
the Main Menu.

On the Main Menu (1/2) screen, press the down arrow
to cycle the screen to the second part of the menu.

Press 1 on the keypad or select Configuration on the
touch screen.

Enter the supervisor password (default 1234).

Press 1 on the keypad or select Communication on
the touch screen.

Check in the Communication Panel that the network
for Mobile Data status is “Up”.
If it is “Down”, then contact the Helpdesk.

Press the red [CANCEL] key on the keypad twice
times to return to the Main Menu (1/2) screen.
Touch Supervisor or press 7 on the keypad to select
Supervisor.

Enter the default password 1234 and press the green
[ENTER] key on the keypad.
