General safety instructions
Read and observe all safety instructions and
store them in a safe place!
Intended use
·Only use the hair straightener to straighten human head
hair.
·This appliance is designed for commercial use.
User requirements
·Read the operating manual in full and familiarise yourself
with it before the first use.
·This appliance is not intended for use by persons (includ-
ing children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concern-
ing use of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
·Only for European markets:
This appliance can be used both by children from 8 years of
age and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge, if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand
the hazards involved. Children must not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be
carried out by children, unless they are supervised.
·Keep packaging away from children because it can pose a
danger (danger of suffocation!).
·Keep the appliance out of reach of animals and protected
against the effects of the weather.
Hazards
Danger! Electric shock due to damage to appli-
ance/mains cable.
fDo not use the appliance if it is not working
correctly, if it is damaged or if it has fallen into
water. In order to avoid hazards, repairs may only
be performed at an authorised service centre or
by specialists properly trained in the handling of
electrotechnical appliances, and using original
spare parts.
fNever use the appliance if the mains cable is
damaged. In order to avoid hazards, damaged

Danger! Electric shock due to penetration of
liquid.
fDo not use the appliance near bathtubs, showers
or other water-filled containers. It should also not
be used in areas of high humidity.
fIf the appliance is being used in a bathroom,
disconnect from the mains immediately after use
because proximity to water presents a risk, even
when the appliance is switched off.
fAlways position or store electrical equipment
where it cannot fall into water (e.g. washbasin).
fIf you have wet hands, do not use the appliance
and never connect it to or disconnect it from
the mains.
fNever touch electrical equipment that has fallen
into water and is connected to the mains, or
reach into water to retrieve it. Disconnect from
the mains immediately. Have the appliance
inspected at a service centre before using it
again.
fOnly use and store the appliance in dry rooms.
fAs an additional safety measure, it is recom-
mended that a tested residual current appliance
(RCD) with a residual operating current of not
more than 30mA be installed in the circuit. Ask
an electrician for advice.
Danger of explosion!
fNever use the product in an environment with a
high concentration of aerosol (spray) products or
in which oxygen is released.
Danger! Flammable!
fThe appliance must never be sprayed with aero-
sol (spray) products classified as flammable.
Warning! Burning and fire hazards
fThe heating plates are very hot during and also
directly after use. Never allow it to come into
contact with the skin, scalp or eyes! This poses a
burning hazard!
fKeep the appliance away from small children, in
particular during its use and while it is cooling
off.
fAlways maintain a sufficient distance from any
flammable items.
fDuring and after use, place the appliance on a
solid and heat-resistant surface.
fNever leave the appliance unattended while it is
connected to the power supply.
