2. Description
2.1 Purpose
The pressure reducers are used to supply med-
ical oxygen at reduced pressure for various
medical and therapeutic devices. For this pur-
pose the user connects them to a high-pres-
sure oxygen cylinder (up to 20 000 kPa =
200 bar cylinder pressure).
2.2 Function
During use, the oxygen from the cylinder pass-
es through the cylinder valve and connecting
union 2into the body 3of the pressure reduc-
er. The cylinder pressure (inlet pressure) can
be read on the contents gage 1.
A filter screw with an integrated sintered filter
removes any impurities. Another sintered filter
reduces the flow of oxgen. The filter screw 10
is located in the opening of connecting union
2. The second sintered filter is installed be-
tween connecting union 2and body 3.
In the reduction stage the inlet pressure is re-
duced to the required operating pressure (out-
let pressure) of between 0.5 and 6.0 bar,
depending on the type. The principle used
here, with crater-type bore and spring-loaded
piston, ensures particularly constant pressure
despite variations in flow.
Sintered filter: Small spherical particles of
bronze are pressed together under heat; this
creates a filter with particularly fine pores.

2. Description de
l’appareil
2.1 Domaine d’utilisation
Les manodétendeurs servent à délivrer de
l’oxygène médical sous pression réduite à dif-
férents appareils médicaux et thérapeutiques.
L’utilisateur doit les raccorder à des bouteilles
d’oxygène fortement comprimé (pression de
la bouteille : jusqu’à 20 000 kPa = 200 bar).
2.2 Description du
fonctionnement
Pendant le fonctionnement de l’appareil,
l’oxygène sort de la bouteille par le robinet et
traverse le boulon de raccordement 2pour
arrriver dans le boîtier 3du manodétendeur.
La pression du gaz contenu dans la bouteille
est indiquée sur le manomètre 1(pression
amont).
Une vis filtrante munie d’un filtre intégré en al-
liage fritté retient les impuretés éventuelles. Un
autre filtre fritté assure la régularité de l’écoule-
ment de l’oxygène. La vis filtrante 10 se trouve
à l’entrée du boulon de raccordement 2. Le
deuxième filtre est placé entre le boulon de rac-
cordement 2et le boîtier 3.
Dans l’étage de réduction, la pression du gaz
est ramenée à une valeur comprise entre 0,5
et 6,0 bar, suivant le type de l’appareil, qui
correspond à la pression nécessaire en aval

2.1 Campo di impiego
Le valvole di riduzione della pressione vengo-
no impiegate in diversi apparecchi del settore
medico e terapeutico, per l'erogazione di os-
sigeno medicinale a pressione ridotta. A tale
scopo esse vengono allacciate dall’utente a
bombole di ossigeno ad alta pressione (fino
a 20.000 kPa = 200 bar contenuto della
bombola).
2.2 Descrizione del
funzionamento
In fase di funzionamento l'ossigeno passa dal-
la bombola di ossigeno attraverso la valvola
della bombola ed il bullone di collegamento
2per entrare nell'involucro 3della valvola di
riduzione della pressione. Nel manometro di
contenuto 1potete leggere la pressione esi-
stente nella bombola (pressione preliminare).
Una vite filtrante con integrato filtro sinterizza-
to trattiene eventuali impurezze. Un ulteriore
filtro sinterizzato frena il flusso di ossigeno. La
vite filtrante 10 si trova all'entrata del bullone
di collegamento 2. Il secondo filtro sinterizza-
to è disposto tra bullone di collegamento 2e
involucro 3.
Nello stadio di riduzione la pressione della
bombola viene ridotta al livello richiesto per
l'impiego (pressione successiva), che a secon-
da del modello può variare tra 0,5 e 6,0 bar.
Il principio qui applicato, che prevede un foro
a cratere ed un pistone con molla di carico,
garantisce una pressione estremamente

The following pressure reducers are de-
scribed in these operating instructions:
Fixed pressure reducer (Fix)
A fixed orifice in the oxygen outlet 5ensures
a constant flow.
The pressure reducers listed above differ in the
length and position of the connecting union 2.
Variable pressure reducer (Fine)
The piston is acted on by a second spring
which is adjustable by means of a spindle sys-
tem. This makes it possible to set different op-
erating pressures (outlet pressures). In
conjunction with the fixed orifice in the oxy-
gen outlet 5you can therefore set different
flow rates. The flow setting is indicated on the
flow gage 6.
