YS1700 – Using 24V DC Loop

Overview
This tech note will enable you to make use of
the built-in 24V DC loop power supply to
power up to (2) external transmitters. This
will eliminate the need for an external power
supply.
These transmitters can then be used as inputs
into the YS1700 controller.

Wiring the Transmitters
First you will need to acquire (1) 250 ohm, 3W
precision resistor for each transmitter.
(Yokogawa part # 4859RES250 or equivalent.)
The resistors should be installed across the
input terminals for the desired inputs. In this
example 1&2 for input 1 and 5&6 for input 3.
Terminal 13 on the YS1700 is the 24V
source and should be connected to the
positive terminal off each transmitter.

Wiring the Transmitters cont.
The negative connection of each transmitter
should be connected to the positive terminal of
the respective input. In our example, terminal
1 for input 1 and terminal 5 for input 3.
