This thermometer offers a wide measurement range feature from
32.0°F to 212.0°F (0°C to 100.0°C); meaning the unit can be used
as an ear thermometer to measure body temperature but it also can
be used to measure surface temperature of objects:
• Milk surface temperature in baby's bottle
• Surface temperature of baby's bath
• Ambient temperature

3. How this Ear Th rmom t r m asur s T mp ratur
This thermometer measures infrared energy radiated from the
eardrum and the surrounding tissue. This energy is collected through
the lens and converted to a temperature value. The measured reading
obtained directly from the eardrum (Tympanic Membrane) can ensure
the most accurate ear temperature.
Measurements taken from the surrounding tissue of the ear canal
generate lower readings and may result in misdiagnosis of a fever.
To avoid an inaccurat m asur m nt:
1. Switch on the thermometer by pressing the ON/OFF button.
2. After one beep is heard (and the temperature scale icon is
flashing) straighten the ear canal by gently pulling the middle
of the ear back and up.
3. Place the probe firmly into the ear canal press the START
button and keep the probe in the ear until the thermometer
beeps to identify the completion of the measurement.

4. Control Displays and Symbols
• All s gm nts display d : Press the ON/OFF button to turn
on the unit all segments will be shown for 2 seconds.
• M mory: The last reading will be shown on the display
automatically for 2 seconds.

measurement the °F or °C icon will keep flashing.
•M asur m nt compl t : The reading will be shown on
the display with the °F or °C icon flashing the unit
is ready again for the next measurement.
10.Cambio d pila

CR2032. Sustitúyala por una nueva pila CR2032 uando el
símbolo de la pila aparez a parpadeando en la pantalla.
Separe la ubierta del ompartimento de pila deslizándola
en la dire ión representada. Extraiga la pila y ámbiela por
una nueva.
11.Garantía
Este instrumento está ubierto por una garantía de 2 años

the battery icon will keep flashing to remind the user to
replace the battery.
5. Dir ctions for Us
1. Press the ON/OFF button . The display is activated to show
all segments for 2 seconds.
2. The last measurement reading will be shown on the display
automatically for 2 seconds with the Micon.
3. When the °F or °C icon is flashing a beep sound is
heard and the thermometer is ready for measurement.
4. Straighten the ear canal by pulling the ear up and back to
give a clear view of the eardrum.

•Childr n ag d 1 y ar to adult: Pull the ear up and back.
Also refer to the short instructions on page 5.
5. While gently pulling the ear insert the probe snugly into
the ear canal and press the START button. Release the
button and wait for the beep sound. This is the indication
that confirms the end of measurement.
6. Remove the thermometer from the ear canal. The display
shows the measured temperature.

9. Limpi za y d sinf cción
Use un algodón o un paño de algodón impregnado en
al ohol (isopropíli o 70%) para limpiar la ar asa exterior
del termómetro y el extremo de medi ión. Asegúrese de
que no entre líquido en el interior del termómetro. Nun a
use agentes limpiadores abrasivos, desengrasantes o
ben eno para limpiarlo y no sumerja el termómetro nun a
en agua o en ualquier otro líquido limpiador. Tenga
uidado de no rayar la superfi ie de la lente del extremo de
medi ión ni la pantalla.

• 10 short beeps will sound when the temperature is higher
than 99.5 °F (37.5 °C) in order to alert the patient that
he/she may have a fever.
• For an infant it is best to have the child laying flat with
his head sideways so the ear is facing upwards. For an
older child or adult it is best to stand behind and slightly
to the side of the patient.
• Always take the temperature in the same ear since the
temperature readings may be different from the right ear
and left ear.
• Wait for a few minutes to take the ear temperature
after sleeping.
• In the following situations it is recommended that three
temperatures in the same ear be taken and the highest
one taken as the reading:
1. Newborn infants in the first 100 days.
2. Children under three years of age with a compromised
immune system and for whom the presence or absence
of fever is critical.
3. When the user is learning how to use the thermometer
for the first time until he/she has familiarized
himself/herself with the instrument and obtains
consistent readings.
6. Fahr nh it to C lsius switchabl
This thermometer can display temperature measurements in either
Fahrenheit or Celsius. To switch the display between °F and °C
simply turn OFF the unit press and hold the START button for 5
seconds. When you stop pressing the START button after 5 seconds
the current measurement scale (°F or °C icon) will be flashed on the
display. Toggle the measurement scale between °F and °C by pressing
the START button again. When the measurement scale has been
chosen wait for 5 seconds and the unit will enter the ready for
measuring mode automatically.

This thermometer can recall the last 12 readings.
• M mory Mod : Press the START button to enter Memory

with the ▲when ambient temperature is higher than 104.0 °F
(40.0 °C).
• Ambi nt t mp ratur too low: Displays Lin conjunction
with the ▼when ambient temperature is lower than 50°F
(10°C).
• Error function display: When system has malfunction.
• Blank display: Please check if the battery has been loaded
correctly. Also check polarity (+ and -) of batteries.
• D ad batt ry indication: If the steady battery icon is the
only symbol shown on the display the batteries should be
replaced immediately.
9. Cl aning and Disinf cting
Use an alcohol swab or cotton tissue moistened with alcohol
(70% Isopropyl) to clean the thermometer casing and the
measuring probe. Ensure that no liquid enters the interior of the
thermometer. Never use abrasive cleaning agents thinners or
benzene for cleaning and never immerse the instrument in water
or other cleaning liquids. Take care not to scratch the surface of
the probe lens and the display.

10. Batt ry R plac m nt
This instrument is supplied with one lithium battery type
CR2032. Replace with a new CR2032 battery when the flashing
battery symbol appears on the display. Remove the battery cover
by sliding it downward. Remove the battery and replace with a
new one.
11. Warranty
This instrument is covered by a 2 year warranty from the date
of purchase.
• The warranty covers the instrument and the batteries. The
packaging is not included.
• Opening or altering the instrument invalidates the warranty.
• The warranty does not cover damage caused by improper
handling discharged batteries accidents or non-compliance
with the operating instructions. Contact ADC®Customer
Service Dept. for more information.

El termómetro mide la energía infrarroja irradiada por el

3. Comm nt c th rmomètr auriculair m sur la
t mpératur
Ce thermomètre mesure l'énergie infrarouge émise par la
membrane du tympan et les tissus avoisinants. Cette énergie est
recueillie par la lentille puis convertie en une indication de
température. La mesure affichée obtenue directement du tympan
(membrane tympanique) donne la température auriculaire la
plus juste. Les mesures prises sur le tissu environnant du canal
de l'oreille génèrent une lecture de la température plus basse
ce qui peut entraîner un mauvais diagnostic de la fièvre.
Pour évit r un m sur in xact :
1. Activer le thermomètre en appuyant sur le bouton
ON/OFF.
2. Après le premier bip (le symbole de l'échelle de température
clignotant) redresser le canal auriculaire en tirant doucement
le milieu de l'oreille vers l'arrière et vers le haut.
3. Bien introduire l'extrémité thermosensible dans le canal de
l'oreille. Appuyer sur le bouton START et garder l'extrémité
dans l'oreille jusqu'au bip qui signale la fin de la mesure.

automatiquement pendant 2 se ondes.

5. Instructions d'utilisation
1. Appuyer sur le bouton ON/OFF. L'é ran s'allume et
tous les segments s'affi hent pendant 2 se ondes.
2. La dernière mesure s'affi he à l'é ran automatiquement
pendant 2 se ondes ave le symbole M.
3. Quand le symbole °C ou °F lignote, un bip est émis.
Le thermomètre est alors prêt à prendre la température.
4. Redresser le anal de l'oreille en tirant l'oreille vers le
haut puis en arrière pour donner une bonne vue sur le
tympan.
• Enfant d moins d 1 an - Tirer l’oreille tout droit vers
l’arrière.
• Enfant d plus d 1 an t adult - Tirer l’oreille vers le
haut et vers l’arrière

5. Pendant que l'oreille est tirée, insérer bien l'extrémité
thermosensible dans le onduit et appuyer sur le
bouton START. Le relâ her à l'émission d'un bip. Ce
signal sonore onfirme la fin de la prise de température.
6. Retirer le thermomètre de l'oreille. La température
mesurée s'affi he.
• La garantie ne ouvre pas les dommages ausés par

6. Commutation C lsius - Fahr nh it
Ce thermomètre peut indiquer la température en
Fahrenheit ou en Celsius. Pour passer de l'é helle °C à
l'é helle °F, éteindre l'appareil, appuyer sans relâ her
sur le bouton START pendant 5 se ondes; Quand on
esse d'appuyer sur le bouton START après 5 se ondes,
l'é helle (symbole °C ou °F) s'affi he en lignotant.
Bas uler l'é helle entre °C et °F en appuyant à nouveau
sur le bouton START. Lorsque le hoix de l'é helle a été
fait, attendre 5 se ondes et l'appareil va passer
automatiquement à la position prise de température.

Ce thermomètre peut affi her les 12 dernières mesures.
• Mod mémoir : Presser le bouton START pour
a éder au mode mémoire en position OFF. Le

9. N ttoyag t désinf ction
Utiliser un hiffon doux ou un hiffon de oton imbibé
d'al ool (70% isopropyl) pour nettoyer la surfa e du
thermomètre et l'extrémité thermosensible. S'assurer
qu'au un liquide n'entre à l'intérieur. Ne jamais utiliser
d'agent abrasif, diluant ou benzène et ne jamais plonger
l'appareil dans l'eau ou un autre liquide. Prendre soin de
ne pas égratigner la lentille de l'extrémité thermosensible
et l'é ran d'affi hage.
10.R mplac m nt d la pil
Cet instrument est fourni ave une pile lithium de type
CR2032. Rempla er par une nouvelle pile CR2032
lorsque le symbole pile lignotant s'affi he à l'é ran.
Enlever le ouver le de la pile en le faisant glisser dans
le sens indiqué. Retirer la pile usée et insérer une pile
neuve.
11.Garanti
Cet instrument est assorti d'une garantie de 2 ans à
ompter de la date d'a hat. La garantie est seulement
valable sur présentation de la arte dûment remplie par
