General information
This sy bol eans: "Consult operating instructions". To achieve accurate results, read
the instructions for use carefully before use and follow all instructions provided therein.
Keep the instructions for use for future reference.
Your ADE weighing scale is a high-quality product which has been anufactured for use in hospitals by
doctors, edical specialists and paediatricians. It co plies with EU regulations for non-auto atic
weighing instru ents (Class III) and the directive for edical instru ents (Class I).
Portable and obile HF co unication devices can interfere with electric edical instru ents.
Electric edical instru ents are subject to special precautionary easures and ust be set up and
operated in accordance with this operating anual.
The scale is intended for precision weighing of babies and the readings are used for a edical diagnosis
by the doctor or edical personnel. It can be used in hospitals, doctors' offices, nursing ho es,
rehabilitation facilities or dialysis centres.
To achieve accurate results, read the operating anual carefully and follow all instructions provided
therein.

Safety nstructions
Be sure to read, understand and follow all instructions in this anual and others that acco pany the
syste and its co ponents, as well as country-specific installation standards, applicable safety
regulations and accident prevention rules.
- Handle the scale with care and always keep in ind that it is a precision easuring instru ent.
- Make sure that the baby to be weighed is centred on the weighing surface.
- Do not use the scale if one or ore security arks are da aged.
- The scale ay only be operated and aintained by trained and authorised skilled personnel.
- Before first use, ake sure that the ains voltage and current type stated on the na e plate
atch the ains voltage and current type at the place of use.
- Never touch baby and ains adapter si ultaneous.
- Only the power adapters authorised by the anufacturer ADE ay be used. Otherwise, there is
a risk that other electrical devices will be affected.
- Anyone connecting additional equip ent or power supply to the equip ent is responsible that
the syste co plies with the require ents of the standard IEC 60601-1.
- The plug/adapter connector isolates the device fro the ains supply. Do not place the device
in a position where it is difficult to disconnect the power supply to safely stop the operation of
the device.
- Make sure that the ains cable is routed between the scale and the ains connection in such a
way that there is no risk of stu bling.

- Never push the scale back and forth without lifting, as this ay cause da age to the load cells.
- Operate the device only within the per issible a bient conditions.
- Do not expose the scale to high te peratures, whether fro neighbouring devices or direct
sunlight.
- Use the scale at constant a bient te peratures and avoid using in draughts, otherwise the
easure ent results could be falsified.
- After storage under extre e conditions, allow at least 60 inutes for the scale to beco e
accli atised and ready for use as directed.
- If possible, place the scale away fro other devices or sources that generate electro agnetic
or other disturbances as these can falsify the easure ent results.
- Use only approved accessories and peripherals.
- Before cleaning the device, disconnect the ains adapter fro the ains.
- Do not i erse the device in water or other liquids.
- If the scale will not be used for a long ti e, it should be cleaned and stored in a protective fil .
The addition of a drying agent is desirable.
- Re ove the batteries if you are not going to use the scale for a long ti e.
- If you have any proble s with this device, such as proble s with setup, aintenance or use,
please contact your authorised dealer. Do not open or repair the device yourself.
- Please notify the authorised dealer if unexpected operations or events occur.
DO NOT use the scale:
- If the ains adapter is da aged;
- If the battery co part ent has an unnatural bulge;
- After long storage in a hu id environ ent.
In such cases, please contact an authorised custo er support.

The scale can be operated either by 6 x AA type alkaline batteries (not included in scope of delivery) or
via the supplied ains adapter.
Low battery indication
- (Low battery indication) will display on the scales LCD display when the battery power
is insufficient to power the scale.
- When is displayed, please replace the 6 alkaline batteries

Connecting the mains power supply

Only use the AC adapter supplied by ADE for this unit.
- Make sure that the scale is switched off before inserting the batteries or plugging in the power
adapter
- For battery operation, first insert the batteries carefully, aking sure not to reverse the polarity
(+/-).
- The battery co part ent is beneath of the weighing platfor
- The jack for the adapter is at the front, on the lower edge of the weighing platfor
- Prior to operation, ake sure that the local voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the
power adapter.
- f the scale is not used for an extended period, remove the batteries, since they can leak,
causing damage to the scale!

Weighing operation
- Align the scale by the use of the levelling feet so that all four feet are in contact with the surface,
which ust be fir and even. You can also check whether the scale is fully horizontal by eans
of the sprite level at the surface. The air bubble should be at the centre of the circle
- Press the ON/OFF/ZERO key to power up the scale, the display will show 88888 and will go to
0.000kg
- If the scale shows a figure other than 0.000kg with no weight applied then press the
ON/OFF/ZERO key once to Zero the scale.
- Press and Hold the ON/OFF/ZERO key to switch off the scale.
Note: The scale has a built in battery save function that will switch off the scale after a period of
inactivity, usually around 60 seconds.
Hold function
- When weighing a baby, press the HOLD key once and the scale will ‘lock’ onto the babies
weight once a stable reading has been taken.
- Press the HOLD key again to release the display.
Tare function
- The TARE key can be used to zero the weight of any unwanted ite /weight, exa ple –
protective paper towel or si ilar placed onto the scale, press the TARE key once and the weight
of the paper towels will be zeroed off.
- After weighing, re ove the paper towels and press Tare again to cancel the tare value and
return to Zero.

Care, servicing and recalibration
Cleaning
Prior to cleaning, always disconnect the scale fro the power supply. Do not use aggressive cleaning
agents to clean the scale; instead, use only a oist cloth or co on disinfectants.
Make sure that no liquid enters the body of the scale or the display, since this can damage
the scale and make it unusable!

Recalibration
Calibration is to be carried out only by authorized co panies or persons in accordance with national
legislative regulations. The notified body (0122) and the year of initial calibration can be found on the
CE sy bol. The scale ust be recalibrated if
- the calibration ark has been da aged
- after a calibrated scale has been repaired
- or after expiry of the period for recalibration stipulated by national statutory regulations.
This indicates that the scales load sensor/s
have been overloaded, re-calibration ay fix
this proble but it usually indicates a faulty
load sensor
1. The scale is above its Zero Range, re ove
any weight on the scales and try to power on
again. If the scale still shows the error
essage then it indicates a fault with the
scales electronics.
2. The scale is below its Zero range, check
there is nothing ja ed underneath the
scale and try to power on again, if the scale
still shows the error then it indicates a fault
with the scales electronics
The scales alkaline AA type batteries are flat.
Replace the batteries with new ones

Disposal
Electrical appliances and batteries should not be disposed of in domestic refuse.
Always dispose of defective or unserviceable devices and batteries in accordance with
the applicable laws and regulations!
Please ensure batteries are empty prior to disposal, since otherwise there is a risk of
short circuit!
Storage and transport
To prevent the possibility of da age fro transport, keep all packaging aterials in case you ever need
to return the device.
Disconnect all connected cables prior to shipping, to prevent unnecessary da age.
The optional carrying bag MZ10031 can be used for easier transport.
Warranty
ADE will repair or replace this product within 2 years of the date of purchase (upon presentation of
receipt) if it is proven that the product failed due to defective aterials or poor work anship. All ovable
parts, such as batteries, cables, power adapters, batteries, etc., are excluded fro the warranty. This
warranty does not apply to nor al signs of wear and tear or da ages caused by accidents or isuse.
Opening of the device by unauthorized persons will void the warranty. The custo er's statutory rights
are in no way affected by the ter s of this warranty.
In case of warranty clai s or for after sales service and replace ent parts, contact the distributor where
the scale was purchased.
