WARNINGS AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
WARNINGS
For your security, and to protect the devices, follow these instructions:
•Do not manipulate the system with wet or damp hands.
•Disconnect the power supply before making any connections.
•Take care not to cause a short circuit in any of the system connections.
ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Do not dispose of this equipment in the household waste. Electrical and electronic
equipment contain substances that may damage the environment if they are not handled
appropriately. The symbol of a crossed-out waste bin indicates that electrical equipment
should be collected separately from other urban waste. For correct environmental
management, it must be taken to the collection centres provided for this purpose, at the end
of its useful life.
The equipment components may be recycled. Act in accordance with current regulations on
environmental protection.
If you replace it with other equipment, you must return it to the distributor or take it to a
specialized collection centre.
Those breaking the law or by-laws will be subject to such fines and measures as are laid down
in environmental protection legislation.

AIRZONE INTERFACES
Airzone controllers control the air conditioning and boost the energy efficiency of the AC unit.
Both main and zone controllers can be easily configured. From the main controller you can select the available operation
modes, define the user mode or select the airflow control of the unit.
AIRZONE BLUEFACE
Interface with a 3.5’’ color touch screen for controlling the zone.
•Control of set point temperature. Displayed in increments of 0.5˚C/1˚ F.
•Configurable set point range for Cooling and Heating.
•Room temperature and relative humidity reading.
•Operation mode, User mode and Airflow control.
•Timer function.
•Zone navigation.
•Time schedules.
•Configurable as main or zone controller.
AIRZONE THINK
Low-energy E-ink interface for controlling the zone through capacitive buttons.
•Control of set point temperature. Displayed in increments of 0.5˚C/1˚ F.

•Room temperature and relative humidity sensing.
•Timer function.
•Main zone navigation (Only available if there is no Blueface Controller
available).
AIRZONE LITE
Interface for controlling the zone through capacitive buttons.

•Allows adjustment of the base set point temperature in increments of
± 1˚ C/2˚ F up to a limit of ± 3˚ C/6˚ F.

BLUEFACE CONTROLLER
MAIN SCREEN DISPLAY
Operation Mode. Displays the current mode of temperature control: Cool, Heat, Auto and Emergency Heat (depending on the
installation). Direct expansion systems include Dry mode.
User Mode. Allows to quickly change the configuration of the system with preloaded settings adapted to daily situations: Eco,
Vacation, Stop, Comfort, Unoccupied or Night time.
Airflow.Depending on the installation, regulates the airflow quantity. Available options: Silence, Standard, Power.
Fan speed. It sets the operating speed of the AC unit fan.
Current Zone/Zone Navigation Menu. Displays the current zone and allows access to zone navigation menu.
Current Room Temperature. Displays the current room temperature where the controller is located.
Note: The range of measured room temperature goes from 10˚ C/50˚ F to 35˚ C/90˚ F, if the room temperature is out of these limits,
the temperature will be displayed as < 10˚ C/50˚ F or > 35˚ C/90˚ F.
Relative Humidity. Displays the relative humidity of the zone.
Current Set Point Temperature. The programmed temperature for a zone. Press the set point temperature to switch between
heating and cooling set points. Press + or - to manually adjust the set point temperature by increments of ± 0.5˚ C/1˚ F.
Zone Demand. This icon only will be displayed if the zone is actively cooling or heating the space.
Local Ventilation. Allows the activation or deactivation of the fan in the selected zone when the system is no longer actively
cooling or heating the zones.
Note: Press the Local Ventilation icon to change its value.
Time Schedule Programming. This menu enables to program the system and to activate/deactivate time schedules.
User Settings. This parameter controls several functions such as the language, screen brightness, etc.
Zone Settings:
Timer. Automatically switches off the zone after 30, 60 or 90 minutes.
Heating stages*. Select the stage to be controlled in heating and cooling: Air or Radiant.
Lite Settings. Available when navigating to a wired Lite Controller from a Blueface Controller.
*Note: Available for some types of installations and system configurations.

SCREENSAVER
The screensaver activates after about 10 seconds of inactivity, displaying the following information:
Time and Date. Displays time and date.
Weather Information. The screen will only display the weather information after setting the location of the Airzone VAF
Cloud Webserver on the Airzonecloud app. The information updates every day.
Current Zone. Displays the current zone.
Current Room Temperature. Displays the current (measured) temperature where the controller is located.
Relative Humidity. Displays the humidity of the zone.
User Mode. Displays the current user mode of the system.
On/Off. Switches On/Off the zone.
Touch the screen of the interface to go from the screensaver to the home screen.
BASIC USE OF THE BLUEFACE CONTROLLER
Adjusting the temperature
On/Off. Press to switch on/off the zone.
Temperature Control. Displays the current set point temperature. Adjust the set point temperature on the Blueface
Controller following the next instructions:
Press the set point temperature to switch between heating and cooling set points. Press + or - to manually adjust by
increments of 0.5˚ C/1˚ F.
The permitted temperature range is:
•Heating mode: 15˚ C/59˚ F – 29˚ C/84˚ F.
•Cooling mode: 18˚ C/64˚ F – 30˚ C/86˚ F.
There is a minimum difference allowed between heating and cooling set point temperatures. The system will prevent
setting a temperature within the protection range.

Operation Mode
This parameter is only available when the controller is configured as main. To change the Operation Mode from the Home
Screen, press the Operation Mode icon and swipe left or right to select the desired operation mode:
Cool. In this mode, the conditioning unit will start a cooling cycle any time that any zone is in cool demand (TSet-Point < T room).
It enables to activate the heat supply function.
Note: The heat supply function is only available for individual zone modules.
Heat. Enables the heating cycle whenever a zone is in heating demand (TSet-Point > T room).
Auto. The Auto mode allows automatic switching between cool and heat, depending on the global demand.
Dry. Only available in direct expansion systems. The system works in dry mode, refreshing the zone (reducing the humidity)
when any of the zones is generating demand (TSet-Point < T room).
Note: Dry mode decreases humidity in the room by entering the dehumidification cooling cycle.
Emergency Heat. This mode activates the Auxiliary Heat to provide heated air in case of a mechanical failure in the system.
Note: This mode is only visible when the installation includes an auxiliary heating device.
User Mode
This parameter is only available when the controller is configured as main. To change the User Mode from the Home Screen,
press the User Mode icon and select the desired mode:
Comfort. Default and standard user mode. The desired set point temperature can be selected using the predefined
temperature ranges.
Eco. The range of available set point temperatures adapts for getting a more efficient operation.
Night time. The system automatically changes the set point temperature 0.5˚ C/1˚ F every 30 minutes in up to 4 increments
of 2˚ C/4˚ F in 2 hours. When cooling, the system increases the set point temperature; when heating, the system decreases
the set point temperature.
Unoccupied. This mode aims to short periods of absence. Avoids the temperature to surpass the established limit
temperature for cooling and heating mode, generating demand with a set-point temperature previously established by the
installer (27˚ C / 81˚ F in cooling mode and 17.5˚ C / 63˚ F in heating mode by default) for returning to the allowed values, as
long as the zone is on.
When interacting with the zone while this mode is selected, the controller displays the unoccupied override warning. If the
set-point temperature is changed, it is maintained for the pre-established period of time (60 minutes by default) and returns
to the set-point temperature of the unoccupied mode.
Vacation. This mode aims to long periods of absence. It turns off all the zones to save energy and turns them on avoiding
the temperature to surpass the established limit temperature (35˚ C / 95˚ F in cooling mode and 10˚ C / 50˚ F in heating
mode), generating demand with the previous set-point temperature before activating the vacation mode.
When interacting with the zone while this mode is selected, the controller displays the vacation override warning. If the set-
point temperature is changed, it is maintained for the pre-established period of time (60 minutes by default) and turns off
the zones again.
Stop. The air-conditioning system will remain switched off regardless of the demand status of any zone, all the motorized
dampers will remain opened.
Airflow
This parameter is only available when the controller is configured as main. Select the control algorithm that best fits the
installation. The available options are:
Silence. The fan speed is lower than in standard mode to reduce the noise.

Standard. Default setting. The system automatically regulates the fan speed based on the number of zones calling for
cooling or heating.
Power. The fan speed is higher than in standard mode to increase the flow.
Fan Speed
This parameter is only available in Fancoil installations or in zones with individual units. It is used to set the airflow control of
the AC unit fan. The airflow control is set in automatic mode by default.
High speed.
Medium speed.
Low speed.
Automatic speed.
Depending on the unit, enables to directly select the speed of the unit, setting the value 1 as the lowest speed. The speed
is set as auto by default.
Local Ventilation
This option enables the activation or deactivation of the ventilation in the selected zone when the system is not actively
cooling or heating any of the zones.
ADVANCED USE OF THE BLUEFACE CONTROLLER
Time Schedule
Access the time schedules menu by pressing the time schedule icon. Press on the days to access to the available schedules.
To create a new schedule, press “Add new” and follow the next steps:
1. Change the name of the schedule by pressing and holding on it.
2. Select the zone/zones where the schedule applies.
3. Select the desired days of the week.
4. Select the type of time schedule to apply. There are three types of schedules:
User Mode: Allows to choose the user mode and ventilation* of the selected zones.
Temperature: Allows to choose the temperature of the zone for cooling and heating mode.
On/Off: Turns on and off the zone.
*Note: If function is activated, the local ventilation in all zones selected will be activated and it will be deactivated the heating/cooling
in each zone. The following fan speeds are available: Silence, Standard and Power.
5. Once the type of schedule is selected, select the time to start the schedule.

6. Finally, press the right arrow icon > to access to the summary of the schedule and confirm or go back if it is necessary
to modify any parameter.
Note: The schedules will activate when pressing the confirm button.
To activate/deactivate or modify a schedule, press the desired schedule to access the edit setting and then press the On/Off
selector or parameters to modify. Press and hold on any schedule to see all the available settings:
Edit: Changes the name of a schedule.
To edit the name of a schedule, press and hold the name of the zone to access the name editor. Then, change the name.
Keep in mind: If a wireless zone is renamed, the name will be displayed in the wireless controller after 5 minutes of inactivity or
after the first touch, whichever occurs first.
Delete: Deletes an existing schedule.
Zone Navigation
From the main screen press on the name of the zone, a list with all the zones and their status will be displayed. This screen
enables the control of all the zones at the same time or individually, it is also possible to switch on/off the zones from this
screen, press < and > to see the rest of the zones.
The “All zones” option gives access to the control of all the zones at the same time, broadcasting the changes to all of them.
Press on the zone’s name to access to all the parameters of the zone and control them from your controller. When the system
detects a temperature error on a specific zone, the zone displays the error code instead of the room temperature (see section
Warnings and errors).
User Settings
These settings control and edit all the basic functionalities. Touch once to display the shortcuts. Press on each icon to access
the parameters.
Language. Select the language.
Brightness. Adjust the brightness and enable or disable the screen brightness when the screen saver is active.
Date and time. Press on the clock to set the time and the format type (12 or 24 hours). Press on the calendar to set the
date. Installations with webserver enable automatic time change.
Information. This parameter provides information on:
•Zone: firmware, zone, association, actuator or status of the communications.
•System: firmware, settings and information about the system controllers.

•Devices: It displays the elements connected to the system.
•Webserver (Only for system 1 Main controller): firmware, IP address, gateway, MAC and PIN.
•Warnings and errors on system.
Clean screen: Select this option to clean the screen. The touch screen will lock for a few seconds.
Zone Settings
Press on the icons to access the parameters.
Timer. It is an auto power-off timer of the zone:
Off. Timer is not activated.
30. It activates the timing and switches off the zone after 30 minutes.
60. It activates the timing and switches off the zone after 60 minutes.
90. It activates the timing and switches off the zone after 90 minutes.
Heating stages. The available parameters are:
Air: Only uses air stage.
Radiant: Only uses radiant air.
Note: For security reasons, the zone will turn off after changing any setting.
Lite Settings. To save energy, enables to configure the wired Airzone Lite to switch off after a few seconds.
Note: To access the Lite settings, go to a zone controlled by a wired Lite controller through the zone navigation menu.
WARNINGS AND ERRORS
Controller displays all the system warnings on the screensaver. If there is any error, it will be displayed on the screensaver, on
the main screen and on “Errors”, in user settings.
Warnings
Unoccupied Override. A zone has been activated while the user mode is set on
Unoccupied. If the set-point temperature is changed, it is maintained for the pre-
established period of time (60 minutes by default) and returns to the set-point
temperature of the unoccupied mode.
Vacation Override. A zone has been activated while the user mode is set on
Vacation. If the set-point temperature is changed, it is maintained for the pre-
established period of time (60 minutes by default) and turns off the zones again.
Window.The air conditioning of the zone has been suspended due to open
window. Only available if the window contact of the system is activated.
Occupancy. No occupancy has been detected in the zone for the last 5 minutes.
Therefore, the timer is activated (the zone will switch off after 90 minutes). Only
available if the presence contact is activated.
Global ventilation. The global ventilation is activated.
Anti-freezing. It will be only displayed when it is activated.
Lite Low Battery. Displayed when Lite interfaces have low battery. It has 2 weeks
of life left in normal conditions.
Heat supply activated.The Heat supply of the cool mode is activated.
Lite without Main ID. Lite controller without main ID configured.

THINK CONTROLLER
MAIN SCREEN DISPLAY
Navigate through the Think Controller by pressing the side buttons on the control bars.
Operation Mode. Displays the operation mode selected from the Main controller: Cool, Heat, Auto and Emergency Heat
(depending on the installation). Direct expansion systems include Dry mode.
User Mode. Displays the User Mode selected from the Main controller: Eco, Vacation, Stop, Comfort, Unoccupied or Night Time.
Airflow. Depending on the installation, displays the Airflow Control selected from the Main controller: Silence, Standard or
Power.
Fan speed. Depending on the installation, sets the fan speed of the AC unit: Low, Medium, High and Automatic.
Zone. Displays the current zone.
Current Room Temperature. Displays the current temperature in the room where the Think controller is located.
Note: The range of measured room temperature goes from 10˚ C/50˚ F to 35˚ C/90˚ F, if the room temperature is out of these limits,
the temperature will be displayed as < 10˚ C/50˚ F or > 35˚ C/90˚ F.
Relative humidity. Indicates the relative humidity of the zone.
Control Bar. Adjusts (by pressing or by sliding) all the parameters controlled by the Think Controller.
Note: Press once to adjust the set point temperature by a single degree. Slide to adjust the set point temperature in larger steps.
Setting Parameters. Press to access to Mode, User mode, Airflow control/Fan speed, Local ventilation, Air supply, Timer and
Information parameters.
Current Set Point. Displays the temperature set point from the Think Controller control bar.
Zone Demand. This icon will be displayed if the zone is calling for demand.
Local Ventilation. Displays if the local ventilation is activated or deactivated.
Timer. Automatically switches off the zone after 30, 60 or 90 minutes.
On/Off. Turns On and Off the zone where the controller is located.
Airzone. Button used to confirm, return to home screen and to switch between the heating set point and cooling set point.

Maximum/minimum temperature and weather information.The screen will only display the maximum/minimum
temperature and the weather information after setting the location of the Airzone VAF Cloud Webserver on the AirzoneCloud
app. The information updates every day.
Zone Status. It displays information about the status of the zone: the state (on/off) and the user mode. In case of failure, it also
displays all the errors.
Airzone. Returns to the home screen.
When the screensaver is active, press the Airzone icon to get to the home screen.
BASIC USE OF THE THINK CONTROLLER
Adjusting the temperature
On/Off. Press to turn the zone on/off.
Temperature Control. The temperature displayed on the screen is the current set point temperature. Adjust the set point
temperature on the Think Controller following the next instructions:
Select the set point temperature using the control bar (by pressing or sliding) to manually adjust by increments of 0.5˚ C/1˚
F. Press once to adjust the set point temperature by increments of 0.5˚ C/1˚ F, slide to adjust the set point temperature in
larger steps.
The permitted temperature range is:
•Heating mode: 15˚ C/59˚ F – 29˚ C/84˚ F.
•Cooling mode: 18˚ C/64˚ F – 30˚ C/86˚ F.

Battery replacement
The Airzone Think Controller will display a battery alert on its screen when the batteries of the radio interfaces are low.
To replace the battery, please remove the controller from its back plate and then replace the battery (CR2450).
Important: We recommend the use of top-brand batteries. Using low-quality batteries may reduce the duration of use.
ADVANCED USE OF THE THINK CONTROLLER
Setting Parameters
Press the Setting Menu icon to access the parameters.
Operation Mode. This parameter is only available when the controller is configured as main, the available modes are:
Cool. The conditioning unit will start a cooling cycle any time that any zone is in cool demand (TSet-Point < T room).
It enables to activate the heat supply function.
Heat. Enables the heating cycle whenever a zone is in heating demand (TSet-Point > T room).
Auto. The Auto mode allows automatic switching between cool and heat, depending on the global demand.
Dry. In this mode, the air-conditioning unit will start a dehumidification cooling cycle any time that any zone is
under demand (TSet-Point < T room).
Note: Dry mode decreases humidity in the room by entering the dehumidification cooling cycle.
Emergency Heat. This mode activates the Auxiliary Heat to provide heated air in case of a mechanical failure in the
system.
Note: This mode is only visible when the installation includes an auxiliary heating device.
Heat supply. If the zone has an air supply stage configured, it allows to enable the Heat supply function in the selected zone
when the mode is set to Cool mode.
Note: The heat supply function is only available for individual zone modules
User Mode. This parameter is only available when the controller is configured as main, the available modes are:

control algorithm that best fits the installation. The available options are:
Silence. The fan speed is lower than in standard mode to reduce the noise.
Standard. Set by default. The system automatically regulates the fan speed based on the number of zones calling
for cooling or heating.
Power. The fan speed is higher than in standard mode to increase the flow.
Fan Speed. This parameter is only available when the controller is configured as main in Fancoil installations or in zones with
individual units. It is used to set the fan speed of the AC unit fan. The airflow control is set in automatic speed by default.
High speed.
Medium speed.
Low speed.
Automatic speed.
Depending on the unit, enables to directly select the speed of the unit, setting the value 1 as the lowest speed. The speed
is set as auto by default.
Note: For security reasons, the zone will turn off after changing any setting.
Local Ventilation. This option enables the activation or deactivation of the ventilation in the selected zone when the
system is not actively cooling or heating any of the zones.
Timer. It is an auto power-off timer of the zone:
Off. Timer is not activated.
30. It activates the timing and switches off the zone after 30 minutes.
60. It activates the timing and switches off the zone after 60 minutes.
90. It activates the timing and switches off the zone after 90 minutes.
Information. This parameter provides information about:
•Zone: firmware, zone, association, actuator or communication status.
•System: firmware, settings and information about the system controllers.
•Devices: displays the elements connected to the system.
•Webserver (Only for system 1 Main controller): firmware, IP address, gateway, MAC and PIN.
Main zone. This parameter is only available when the Main controller of the group is lost. Enables to access and to modify the
operation mode of the group.

WARNINGS AND ERRORS
Controller displays all the system warnings on the screensaver.
Warnings
Unoccupied Override.
A zone has been activated while the user mode is set on
Unoccupied. If the set-point temperature is changed, it is maintained for the pre-
established period of time (60 minutes by default) and returns to the set-point
temperature of the unoccupied mode.
Vacation Override. A zone has been activated while the user mode is set on
Vacation. If the set-point temperature is changed, it is maintained for the pre-
established period of time (60 minutes by default) and turns off the zones again.
Window. The air conditioning of the zone has been suspended due to open
window. Only available if the window contact of the system is activated.
Occupancy. No occupancy has been detected in the zone for the last 5 minutes.
Therefore, the timer is activated (the zone will switch off after 90 minutes). Only
available if the presence contact is activated.
Low Battery. Displayed when the interface has low battery. It has 2 weeks of life
left in normal conditions.
Heat supply activated. The Heat supply of the cool mode is activated.
Errors
If any of these errors occurs, please contact with your installer.
Error 1. Communication error with the control module.
Error 2. Communication error with the main control board.
Error 3. Motorized element not connected to the actuator output.
Error 4. Unusual behavior of the motorized element.
Error 5. Temperature sensor is opened.
Error 6. Temperature sensor is short circuited.
Error 9. Communication error between the communications gateway and the system.
Error 10. Communication error between the BACnet interface and the main control board.
Error 11. Communication error between the communications gateway and the indoor unit.
Error 12. Communication error between the webserver and the main control board.
Error 13. Communication error between the main control board and the control module of radiant elements.
Error 17. Communication error between the Lutron interface and the main control board.

LITE CONTROLLER
On/Off. Turns On and Off the zone. In addition, it indicates the operation mode with color codes.
Temperature Settings. Allows adjustment of the base set point temperature in increments of ± 1˚ C/2˚ F up to a limit of ± 3˚
C/6˚ F. This base set point temperature can be configured by any Blueface Controller.
Important: After 10 seconds of inactivity, the Wireless Lite Controller will turn off the LEDs to save battery. The first press on
displays de status of the zone (On/Off, Operation Mode and Set Point Temperature). This pulsation enables the modification
of the desired parameters (On/Off or Temperature).
USE OF THE LITE CONTROLLER
Adjusting the temperature
On/Off. Press the On/Off button to turn on or off the zone. This button also displays the operation mode. It follows a color
code system:
Purple: Stop User mode.
Red: Heating mode/Emergency heat.
Blue: Cooling and Dry mode.
Green: The set point temperature has been reached.
If the button remains solid, the controller is ON.
If the button is blinking, the controller is OFF.
The button remains solid for 10 seconds to show the status, then turns off.
Temperature Control. Raise or lower the base set point temperature configured by any Blueface Controller (through
remote zones on the Lite settings parameter) in increments of ± 1˚ C/2˚ F up to a limit of ± 3˚ C/6˚ F using the buttons.
The LEDs indicate the steps above or below the base set temperature.
Once the three-step limit has been reached, the temperature control icons will blink.

Battery replacement
The Airzone Blueface Controller will display a battery alert on its screensaver when the battery of a Lite Controller is low. To
know the zone of the Lite controller running out of battery, press on the warning icon.
To replace the battery, please remove the controller from its back plate and then replace the battery (CR2450).
Important: We recommend the use of top-brand batteries. Using low-quality batteries may reduce the duration of use.
